Mr Jaladhar Sen and his wife are both retired and living with their son, daughter in law and granddaughter. However, the old couple`s lives are in total control of the son, who doesn`t allow them much freedom. Things come to a head when the son celebrates his own ten year anniversary lavishly but is reluctant to do the same for his parents 45th year together. Krishna, a young student from a modest background, falls in love with Pushpa, whose brother is politically well-connected.
