On an early Sunday evening, people of the small town are reading lottery results that are hung on a board. Young man Karel Antos is annoyed that his lottery-ticket missed the main prize, a car, by only one number. Karel is going to the pub to drink away his bad luck with his friend Jirka Broz. The old accountant auditor Zelinka drops a wallet. Karel picks it up and before he gives it back he notices the winning lottery-ticket in it. Both young men accompany the old drunk man. Karel steals the ticket and exchanges it with his own. Next day, Zelinka is found dead. While Partha places his corporate team under constant stress by reason of his ruthless ambitions, Sheila fails to cope with the reality of her inability to conceive. Anjali (Maitreyee Mitra), a BPO Team Leader working under Pratik, is about to marry Rahul (Indrajeet), an IT professional. Rahul's ambition is to reach the US for better prospects. His sudden decision to switch over to a job in Bangalore pushes the relationship to a crisis, driving the engagement to breaking point. Animesh (Rudranil Ghosh), an insurance executive in a private firm, always fails to reach his sales target. Sankar adopted by rich business man saves his master's house 'Chowdhury Villa' from Rudraprasad Sen. Honest businessman Amar Chowdhury (Rajak) had a happy family with his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law and a daughter. He reared Sankar (Prasenjit), an orphan boy as his own son. Sankar looked after each and every need of this family. Amar Chowdhury won the post of president of the mill owners' association by defeating strong competitor Rudraprasad Sen (Dulal Lahiri) . Out of grief, Rudraprasad Sen burnt the factory of Amar Chowdhury with the help of Vikram (Arun Banerjee), and made every effort to make him penny-less. In that helpless situation, Arun Chowdhury's sons insulted and deserted him. They also slandered Sankar. Amar Chowdhury drove Sankar out by showing false anger. Sankar achieved his goal of becoming an actor with the help of Kesto da (Sunil Mukherjee), a production manager. An old man is forced to do work by his unfaithful son. Rajnarayan Babu(Rajjak) has two sons and one daughter. They are Tuhin(Pijush Ganguly) Tushar (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and Khushi(Sreelekha Mitra). Tuhin's wife is Hena and Khushi's husband is Amit. Tushar loves Nisha(Rituparna Sengupta). Rajnarayan gives Rs.20,0000 to his son Tuhin for his business. When Rajnarayan asks for the money for his daughter's marriage his elder son refuses. Rajnarayan decides to sell his house to get his daughter married. In the meanwhile Khushi hears everything and runs away, but it is discovered that Khushi's would be father-in-law(Soumitra Chatterjee) has arranged the marriage ceremony of his son(Abhishek Chatterjee) with Rajnarayan Babus' daughter Khushi. After all this Rajnarayan decides to take up a part-time job. Tuhin's wife insults him and his wife. She also starts conspiring with his mother. Rajnarayan's wife has a cerebral attack and becomes a paraplegic.Tushar and his father take care of her. Rajnarayan again asks his elder son to return all the money. His son asks him to come to his office. When he goes there he is insulted by an employee. Rajnarayan Babu searches frantically for a job but does not succeed. Rajnarayan starts pulling carts. Tushar has a quarrel with his brother over this. Rajnarayan's wife soon passes away. Finally Tuhin realizes his fault and teaches his wife a good lesson.
