A group of friends is going through a mid-life crisis. They decide to remake a favourite movie from their youth, but encounter unexpected events when they enter the jungle.

In early 2020, CIA agent Henry Pelham (Chris Pine) is informed by his boss, Vick Wallinger (Laurence Fishburne), that the CIA has reopened the case of Turkish Alliance 127, a 2012 terrorist hijacking which ended in tragedy. Headquarters suspects there was a leak from the Vienna station, where Henry and Vick work. One of the hijackers Ilyas Shushani, was recently arrested in Afghanistan and he divulged this information. Henry is sent to interview Celia Harrison (Thandiwe Newton), who also worked at the Vienna station at the time of the hijacking. Henry and Celia were lovers, but she left him shortly after the event. It shown that first Henry meets another co-worker Bill in London and informs him of his mission to find the leak in the Vienna office in Flight 127 case. Unknown to Henry, later that night, Bill call Celia and informs her of Henry's mission. Celia, now retired, lives in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California with her family. Henry meets her at an upscale restaurant, which is almost empty of customers and staff. As Henry and Celia talk, she reveals that an Austrian intelligence agent named Karl Stein (Corey Johnson) approached her shortly after she moved to Carmel. He wanted her to inform on her coworkers (Specifically Bill whom Karl says is selling state secrets to Islamist extremists), but she refused. Henry has Celia recall the events of the hijacking. In a flashback to 2012, Flight 127 is on the runway when it is hijacked by four armed militants belonging to an Islamic terrorist group. The Vienna station (Including Vick, Bill, Collections agent Leila Maroof (Ahd Kamel), Ernst Pul (Jonjo O'Neill) (liaison with Austrian Intelligence), Owen Lassiter (David Dawson) (ran a team of code breakers and analysts. He shot himself a couple of months after 127). Henry himself was reassigned to Vienna from Moscow. Henry oversaw the Nord-Ost siege when Russian forces pumped gas into the building and killed all terrorists, including 100 hostages) jumps into action to address the crisis and learns that Ilyas Shushani (Orli Shuka), a Chechen and former informant for Henry, may be involved. CIA knew that Ilyas had arrived in Barcelona 2 days before from Tehran. They had intelligence that Tehran was going to fund a hijacking within the next 72 hrs. The hijackers threaten to kill the passengers unless several of their comrades are released from custody (2 from Austria and 3 from Germany. They issue an ultimatum for 24 hours). Ilyas is not on the plane but is suspected to be coordinating this. Ahmed, a CIA courier who happened to be on the plane, contacts the CIA and suggests an attack via the plane's undercarriage. Celia uses her sources in Vienna and connects with a possible source named Mohammed (Nasser Memarzia), but the meeting seems to yield nothing of value, as Mohammed wanted money before he shared anything. Henry tells Celia and her mentor, Bill Compton (Jonathan Pryce), that when Henry worked in Moscow his superiors forced him to betray Ilyas to the Russian government to placate them after the Nord-Ost terrorist attack. So, the relationship between Ilyas and Henry didn't end well. Ilyas's family was killed, and he ended up in Tehran. The Vienna station receives another message from Ahmed saying that the terrorists have a camera mounted on the plane's undercarriage and the assault should be called off. Bill leaves for home to deal with his wife. Celia goes into Bill's office after he leaves. Celia notices differences in the language of Ahmed's messages and fears he has been compromised. Checking the station's phone logs, she notices that a call to Iran was placed from Bill's office phone. Shortly thereafter the hijackers kill a passenger and throw his body from the plane, yelling "take away your spy". Celia returns home and has passionate sex with Henry. When Henry was in the shower, she saw a call coming in on his mobile from a Tehran number. When the terrorists' demands are not met, they release Sarin gas, killing themselves, the crew, and all passengers. The Vienna station is devastated by the outcome. The next day, Celia breaks up with Henry and leaves Vienna. In the present, Henry asks why she ended their relationship so abruptly. Celia reveals that she saw a call on Henry's cellphone from the same Iranian number that she found in the station phone logs. Realizing that Henry was the leak, she left him but did not divulge her discovery to the CIA. She further confesses that, after Henry contacted her to arrange this meeting, she contacted Karl Stein, and he arranged the meeting place, the staff, and fake customers, with the aim of poisoning Henry via his wine. As Henry begins to succumb to the poison, Celia tearfully asks why he betrayed everyone to the terrorists. He explains that he was lured into a meeting with Ilyas, who had become radicalized and masterminded the hijacking. Ilyas' people staged the meeting between Mohammed and Celia to create the impression that Celia's life was in danger; this pushed Henry into revealing the presence of Ahmed on the plane, as well as the plan for an undercarriage assault in exchange for her life. Celia reveals that Ilyas already gave Henry's name in Afghanistan. Celia just confirmed it. Henry comes to terms with his impending death, and Celia returns home to her husband and children. Karl calls Vick to report that Henry has died, revealing that they had been working together the entire time.

My friends mock me for what I do in the spring because they know from experience. From April 15 until Memorial Day, they wont see me. Because Im birding! Anya Auerbach, a radiant fashion-averse teenager, admits that I take my binoculars pretty much everywhere except school. Acclaimed author Jonathan Franzen recalls that he walked through Central Park almost daily for seven years, noticing only the pigeons and sparrows. Then one day, friends invited him to come along with them on a tour of the Parks famous Ramble section and handed him a pair of binoculars. It was like the trees were hung with ornaments. It was one of those rare times in an adults life where the world suddenly seems more magical rather than less. One poignant narrative revolves around Central Park doyenne Starr Saphir, the bird walk leader whos recorded every sighting shes made since the 1940s. After discovering several years ago that she has terminal breast cancer, she says that time has a different meaning for her now. I have a great deal more enjoyment. I always loved what I did, but its heightened even more, because I know not only is it not going to last forever its not going to last all that much longer. Featuring spectacular wildlife footage capturing the changing seasons, the film reveals that Central Park acts as a magnet for the millions and millions of birds migrating along the Eastern Seaboard twice every year. Desperate for a rest-stop, the tiny birds funnel in to this oasis of nature amid a sea of steel and concrete a phenomenon known as the Central Park Effect. Tiny hummingbirds, tall herons and egrets, majestic owls, hawks, orioles, kingfishers, flycatchers and a vast array of wood warblers - the jewels of the Eastern forests - all have starring roles in the documentary. Filmmaker Jeffrey Kimballs lyrical film transports the viewer to a dazzling world that goes all but unnoticed by most of the 38 million who people Americas most famous park each year.

Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, RocknRolla bears traces of Snatch (2000). When a real estate deal in London, involving millions of pounds gets underway, criminals and a presumably dead popstar surface for their pie in the sky. The transfer of money is intercepted and a lucky painting is stolen. What ensues is fisticuffs, bloody fights, and a mad scramble to get the deal sealed. Featuring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton and Tom Wilkinson, RocknRolla is not your average thriller.

Norbit (Murphy) is a normal person, who after being adopted by Mr. Wong (Murphy), ends up being married to the very large, Rasputia (Murphy). Norbit`s childhood love, Kate Thomas (Newton) arrives back in town to buy the orphanage. Norbit sees this as his chance to get back together with Kate, until he discovers that she is in fact engaged to Deion Hughes (Gooding, Jr.). Norbit isn`t going to lay this to rest, whilst he tries to survive life with Rasputia, and it looks like Deion also has something he would like to keep secret.

Riddick (Vin Diesel), having remained in hiding for five years after the events of Pitch Black, evades the bounty hunter Toombs (Nick Chinlund). A crew of bounty hunters led by Toombs arrives at the frozen planet U.V. to hunt down Riddick, a notorious wanted fugitive. Riddick kills Roombs' crew and steals his ship, before heading for the planet called Helion Prime, after Toombs reveals that the incredibly high bounty originated there. Once there, Riddick is reunited with Abu "Imam" Al-Walid (Keith David), the man he rescued in Pitch Black, and is asked about his home world, a now devastated planet called Furya, and if there are any of his people still alive, aside from him. Imam and the others are aware that Helion Prime is likely the next planet to be conquered by the Necromongers, an army of religious fanatics who seek to convert every human life and kill those who refuse. Aereon (Judi Dench), an Air Elemental, believes Riddick is a Furyan, a member of a race of warriors long thought extinct. One night, the Necromongers invades Helion Prime, overwhelming their entire defense forces, and takes control of the capital. In the ensuing battle, Imam is killed defending his family and Riddick heads to the capital building. The next day, the Necromongers, led by the high priest (called The Purifier), coerce the populace into converting, except for Riddick, who in a display of defiance kills the man who killed Imam the night before. Intrigued, and alarmed by a sense of Deja Vu, the Lord Marshal (Colm Feore) leader of the Necromonger faith, orders Riddick be examined in the main Necromonger hall by the Quasi-Dead Telepaths. Lord Mardhal possesses unnatural abilities granted to him after visiting the Underverse, the Necromonger Promised Land. He is the subject of a prophecy that foretells of his death at the hands of a Furyan warrior. It is discovered that Riddick is the last Furyan alive, to which the Lord Marshal immediately orders Riddick's death. Riddick escapes the Necromonger ship and allows himself to be captured by Toombs and his new crew. Riddick quietly gets Toombs to take him to Crematoria, a scorching subterranean and harsh prison moon, where the kid from Pitch Black, Jack (Alexa Davalos), was reported to have been sent. Following Riddick's escape, the Lord Marshal sends a commander named Vaako (Karl Urban) a loyal Necromonger Commander who is tasked with hunting down and killing Riddick. This process made easier by Toombs' ship leaving behind an easily traceable path. During the voyage, Vaako's wife Dame Vaako (Thandiwe Newton), after talking to the Elemental Aereon who acted as a seer for the Lord Marshal 30 years prior, reveals that Furya was devastated by the Lord Marshal, after he was informed that a male child from that world would bring about his downfall, thus revealing his desire to see Riddick killed. On Crematoria, a disagreement between Toombs and the prison warden over the amount Toombs is owed for Riddick results in Toombs and his crew staying there for a day. Word about the Necromongers has reached even the isolated prison guards, who suspect that Toombs stole Riddick from them, and that it will bring them only trouble. A firefight breaks out, killing most of the bounty hunters except for Toombs. On Crematoria, Riddick quickly asserts his position in the prison's populace. In the prison, Riddick meets up with Jack, now renamed Kyra, who resents him for abandoning her. After a few fights, they eventually reconcile. The next day, the guards kill all the mercenaries, except Toombs who drops into the prison area, who take all their money and prepare to leave when they realize the Necromongers are coming for Riddick. Overpowering and locking Toombs' in a cell, Riddick escapes the prison and leads several prisoners across Crematoria's volcanic surface to the hangar to steal Toombs' ship. As the prisoners reach the outside of the hangar, they find that Necromonger ships have also landed. A three-way fight breaks out between the Necromongers, the prisoners, and the hangar guards. In the end, all of the guards and prisoners are killed, Riddick is incapacitated by Vaako, and Kyra is captured. As the deadly sunrise approaches, Vaako leaves Riddick to die and departs. However, following an outburst of energy by Riddick, a trait among Furyans, and the approach of the vicious sunrise (0 to 700 degrees F), Vaako leaves Riddick for dead. Kyra, also thinking Riddick is dead, flees with the Necromongers. However, Riddick is saved by the Purifier (Linus Roache), who informs him that if he stays away from the Necromongers, the Lord Marshal will not hunt him. The Purifier then reveals that he too is Furyan, and that Vaako will likely report Riddick as dead, giving him the element of surprise. The Purifier then commits suicide by walking out of the hanger onto the scorching surface of Crematoria after encouraging Riddick to save Kyra and kill the Lord Marshal. Meanwhile, Vaako has reported Riddick as dead, and for which, has been named as the heir apparent by the Lord Marshal. Riddick flies back to Helion Prime. Flying back to Helion Prime on Toombs's ship, Riddick infiltrates the Necromongers' flagship. Riddick, disguised as a Necromonger in full armor, infiltrates the main Necromonger hall. Dame Vaako finds out and encourages her husband to let Riddick strike first, so as to wound the Lord Marshal, paving the way for Vaako to kill him. Taking advantage of the Necromonger's culture, Riddick openly challenges Lord Marshal, who taunts him by revealing Kyra has been converted. Riddick fights Lord Marshal, who keeps the upper hand with his supernatural powers. Riddick attacks him, and when it appears that Riddick has been defeated, Kyra stabs the Lord Marshal in the back with a spear. She is then mortally wounded after being tossed onto, and impaled, on spikes. Vaako attempts to strike the wounded Lord Marshal, who evades the blow. Riddick, who in the fight has figured out the Lord Marshal's weakness, ends up killing the Lord Marshal. After Kyra dies in Riddick's arms, and as Riddick mourns, the Necromongers kneel before him, the new Lord Marshal.

British newlywed Regina Lambert (Thandiwe Newton) lives in Paris with her husband Charlie (Stephen Dillane). She returns home following a short vacation (with her friend Sylvia (Sakina Jaffrey)), determined to divorce Charlie, only to discover their apartment has been stripped bare and that her husband has been murdered. Commandant Dominique (Christine Boisson) is already in the apartment, investigating the crime with Lieutenant Dessalines (Simon Abkarian). Dominique tells Regina that Charles body was found near the train tracks outside of Paris. Charles was an art dealer, as per Regina's knowledge, and is Swiss. But she is shown Charles's many passports with different names. She is told that Charles sold everything in the apartment via 3 auction houses. He got $1.8 MM, which is now missing. Regina is soon being trailed by Lee Il-Sang (Park Joong-Hoon), Lola Jansco (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and Emil Zadapec (Ted Levine). Regina is soon reunited with a mysterious stranger Lewis Bartholomew (introduced as Joshua Peters) (Mark Wahlberg) she met on her holiday. Joshua had met Regina at the airport and given her a lift to her home. He later returned to her home, when she was alone and gave her company. He checks her into a hotel and finds that they are being followed by Dominique. Carson J. Dyle (Tim Robbins) contacts Regina, saying that he is Lewis Bartholomew, and represents the US Govt. He reveals that Charlie helped defense collaboration between UK and US. He shows her a photo of Charlie with Lee, Lola and Emil. 3 years ago, the 4 worked together on a mission (Operation Verify) and the sum involved is $6 MM. Lewis wants Regina to help him to get the money back. He says the trio are after the money as well. Next, Lola approaches Regina at a flea market and says Operation verify involved 46 diamonds. She says Charlie stole the diamonds from his partners. Regina is rescued by Joshua. Back at the hotel, Regina is attacked by Emil, but again Joshua fights him off. When Regina is in the shower, Joshua goes through her bag. She won't reveal that she was approached by Lewis and told by Lee, Emil and Lola. At night, Emil again calls by phone and says that Joshua is in fact Carson J. Dyle, and not to be trusted. He is after the money. Regina asks Joshua to leave. Joshua goes straight to another hotel room, revealing that he is indeed working with Lee, Lola and Emil. Regina calls Lewis and tells him about the events and goes to meet her. Lewis tells him that Dyle was a member of the Special Ops team. He then left the Army and went to work for Charlie. Charlie was the middleman between US Govt and the militia he contracted to carry out missions that US Govt could not sanction. In 1998 Charlie, Dyle, and a team including Lee, Lola and Emil carried $6 MM in 46 diamonds as ransom to an eastern European country, 40 Kms from Sarajevo. The team was ambushed, and Charlie and the trio were the only ones who survived. Dyle died. The survivors hid the diamonds with a plan to extract them together but seems like Charlie broke the pact and got to them sooner. Regina returns and Joshua explains that he is Alexander Dyle, and Carson was his brother who did die in 1998. Regina tries to leave for London by train, but it is also boarded by the trio and Joshua follows. Emil has a heart attack on the train, and it is brought back to Paris. Dominique speaks to Regina alone and says she needs her help to find Charles's killer. Regina goes back to Joshua and the trio, and they go through the contents of her bag and find nothing. They ask about the trip Regina took with Charles to Sarajevo. That night, Regina is attacked by a car driven by Charles's mother. But Lola sacrifices herself and saves Regina. As she dies, she tells Regina to be wary of Dyle. Lee investigates at the flea market (a place where Charles visited before his death). Lee finds that a local trade made a fortune trading in stamps just one day before his death. Lee instantly figures that the envelope in Charles's bag had 3 stamps on it, and the diamonds were converted to stamps. Joshua was tracking Lee and figures out the same thing. Both rush back to the hotel. Regina returns to her room and finds Lee dead. She finds Joshua in her room, ransacking the place and assumes that Joshua killed Lee. Regina runs away from Joshua, who follows. Regina runs into Lewis, and it is revealed that Lewis is in-fact Carson Dyle. Joshua is in fact Lewis Bartholomew (Special Investigator from US Govt). Carson reveals that he survived that night in Yugoslavia. Charles knew Carson was alive but told everyone that he died. Carson was saved by a local farmer. He got better and tracked Charles to Paris. Carson admits to killing Charles. Regina reveals the envelope with the 3 rare stamps. She throws the envelope into the fire. Dominique moves to arrest Carson. Lee is alive and is shocked to see Carson alive. Carson surrenders to Dominique. Regina later visits Lewis at his office and turns over the originals to Lewis, saying that the ones she burnt were laser copies, to take money out of the equation. They get together as a couple. Charles's mother serves food to Carson in prison, and he falls dead shortly thereafter.

Two friends try to kick their drug addiction after a friend overdoses. When they try to enroll in a detox program, things quickly go wrong. After a friend overdoses, Spoon and Stretch decide to kick their drug habits and attempt to enroll in a government detox program. Their efforts are hampered by seemingly endless red tape, as they are shuffled from one office to another while being chased by drug dealers and the police. —Andy Bogursky <bogursky@erols.com>

The journey that August King takes is one of faith. He is conflicted with what the world tells him in the here and now and resists any idea that he is connected to the plight of this young woman. His journey is a metamorphosis. During this journey he changes and grows in his faith without ever realizing it -- at each turn he is making the critical decision to not only help someone, but to take a leap of faith -- a faith that his wife tried to persuade him exists but one in which he does not immediately believe. He is called upon by a higher power and sees this only at the moment he loses everything. The beauty of it is that he gains everything in the interim. This film is full of symbolism and Biblical references that integral to the plot and affords the viewer an opportunity to experience what it means to chose between right and wrong, good and evil in an almost alcoholic way -- day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second. We cannot know in advance, what our mission is in life we can only make critical decision one at a time until the entire mission is revealed. Jason Patric's performance is excellent as well as a performance by Thandie Newton -- before she becomes well known through other films yet to come. As a person involved in the slavery film 12 Years a Slave, I must say that this film in many ways is just as riveting and important in the telling of American History and the nation in which we live past and present. In modern-day San Francisco, reporter Daniel Molloy (Christian Slater) interviews Louis De Pointe Du Lac (Brad Pitt), who claims to be a vampire. Louis describes his human life as a wealthy plantation owner in 1791 Spanish Louisiana. Despondent following the death of his wife and unborn child (Louis picks random fights with everyone in the hope that someone might kill him and release him from his misery), he drunkenly wanders the waterfront of New Orleans one night and is attacked by the vampire Lestat De Lioncourt (Tom Cruise). Lestat senses Louis's dissatisfaction with life and offers to turn him into a vampire (Lestat does so by offering his own blood to Louis). Louis accepts, but quickly comes to regret it. While Lestat revels in the hunt and killing of humans, Louis resists his instinct to kill, instead drinking animal blood to sustain himself. Disgusted by Lestat's pleasure in killing, Louis comes to suffer tremendously as a vampire. Louis survives by drinking the blood of birds and rats, while Lestat hunts slaves and aristocrats. The slaves of New Orleans are fed up and attack the house of Louis and Lestat at night. Louis is disgusted with himself when he is compelled to kill his gentle house slave Yvette (Thandie Newton) and helps the slaves to burn down the house. Despite Lestat tempting Louis endlessly with human blood, Louis does not give in to temptation. Wandering the streets of New Orleans amid an outbreak of plague, Louis can resist his hunger no more and feeds on a little girl whose mother died in the plague. To entice Louis to stay with him, Lestat turns the dying girl, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), into a vampire. Together, they raise her as a daughter. Louis has a pure fatherly love for Claudia, while Lestat spoils and treats her more as a pupil (Claudia has a strong hunger for blood and kills everyone from her dressmaker, to her pianist, and takes advantage of her frail appearance to attract potential victims to herself), training her to become a merciless killer. Thirty years pass, and Claudia matures psychologically but remains a little girl in appearance and continues to be treated as such by Lestat. When she finally realizes that she will never grow older or become a mature woman, she is furious with Lestat and tells Louis that they should leave him. Claudia wants to know how Lestat turned her into a vampire, but he wouldn't divulge his power. She tricks Lestat into drinking the "dead blood" of twin boys whom she killed by overdose with laudanum, which weakens Lestat, and then slits his throat. Though Louis is shocked and upset by Lestat's death, he helps Claudia dump Lestat's body in an alligator swamp. They spend weeks planning a voyage to Europe to search for other vampires, but Lestat returns on the night of their departure, having survived on the blood of swamp creatures. Lestat attacks them, but Louis sets him on fire and, in the ensuing blaze (which spreads through the entire town), they are able to escape to their ship and depart. After traveling around Europe and the Mediterranean but finding no other vampires, Louis and Claudia settle harmoniously in Paris in 1870. Louis encounters vampires Santiago (Stephen Rea) and Armand (Antonio Banderas) by chance. Armand invites Louis and Claudia to his coven, the Théâtre Des Vampires, where the vampires stage theatrical horror shows for humans (where they feed on live humans on stage, but the public thinks that is part of theatre). On their way out of the theater, Santiago reads Louis's mind and suspects that Louis and Claudia murdered Lestat. Armand warns Louis to send Claudia away for her own safety, and Louis is intrigued to stay with Armand and learn about the meaning of being a vampire. Armand tells Louis that he knew Lestat and agrees that he was not good in anyway. Claudia demands that Louis turn a human woman, Madeleine (Domiziana Giordano), into a vampire to be her new protector and companion (as she says that one day Louis will go with Armand), and he reluctantly complies. Shortly thereafter, the Parisian vampires abduct the three of them and punish them for Lestat's murder, imprisoning Louis in a coffin and trapping Claudia and Madeleine in a chamber, where sunlight burns them to ash. Armand does nothing to prevent this, but the next day he frees Louis. Seeking revenge, Louis returns to the theater at dawn and sets it on fire, killing all the vampires. Armand arrives in time to help Louis escape the sunrise, and once again offers him a place by his side. Louis rejects Armand and leaves, knowing Armand had allowed Claudia's murder so that he could have Louis to himself. As decades pass, Louis never recovers from the loss of Claudia and dejectedly explores the world alone. He returns to New Orleans in 1988 and one night encounters a decayed, weakened Lestat, living as a recluse in an abandoned mansion and surviving on rat blood as Louis once had. Lestat expresses regret for having turned Claudia into a vampire and asks Louis to rejoin him, but Louis declines and leaves. Louis concludes his interview with Molloy, prompting Molloy to beseech Louis to make him his new vampire companion. Louis is outraged that Molloy has not understood the tale of suffering he has related, and attacks Molloy to scare him into abandoning the idea. Louis then vanishes, and Molloy runs to his car and takes off, while playing the cassette tapes of Louis' interview in his car. On the Golden Gate Bridge, Lestat appears and attacks Molloy, taking control of the car.
