In order to be prepared for the most important presentation of his life, Evan must once again invoke the use of the Goo-Gaa and meet up with the princesses. The only problem is that Olivia is spending the night at her friends house, and there is no way for Evan to obtain said Goo-Gaa. With the birth of a new litter of 11 piglets, the farmer must eliminate one so the mother can feed them. The farmer gets his ax and selects the runt of the litter when he is stopped by his daughter, Fern (Dakota Fanning). Fern begins to feed her new piglet and names him Wilbur (voice of Dominic Scott Kay). After Wilbur gets strong enough to be on his own, he is put into the barn across the road. In the new barn, he meets many different animals: cows, sheep, geese, a rat, a horse, and of course a spider named Charlotte (voice of Julia Roberts). Wilbur's friendship with all the animals in the barn brings them all together, and they become one big happy family. There is only one problem that Wilbur doesn't know, he is a spring pig, and they don't usually get to see winter. Charlotte promises Wilbur that she will do something to save his life. Spring has arrived and an array of creatures sleeping in a large tree trunk has awakened from their winter hibernation. This group of unusual creatures, porcupines, possums, a squirrel, a skunk, has formed a family with Verne, a tortoise (voice of Garry Shandling), as the head. They discover that a tall hedge has cut their forest in half and their nut and berry trees are gone. Where are they going to get their food for next winter? Then RJ, an opportunistic raccoon (voice of Bruce Willis), enters the picture. RJ explains to the group that there is a new world called suburbia on the other side of the hedge where humans live. RJ says, "that humans live to eat, rather than eat to live". Humans throw away more food then they would ever need and put the food in garbage cans. Earl Crest (Joshua Jackson), a young Southerner in Bennet, Texas, who has to work hard at keeping his friends and family out of trouble. He is in a relationship with his step-sister Baby (Jamie King), although they are somewhat justified in that he and Baby were together before their respective parents even met. Earl's father was a priest who was killed in a stripper bar by a patron, when he went in there to "convert the heathens". Earl's mother married Baby's father Wayne (John Mellencamp). Wayne gets monthly disability checks from getting hit by shrapnel in Vietnam. Jimbo (Matthew Davis) is Earl's best friend, and has been openly gay for 6 years. Andy (Rodger Boyce) is the Sheriff of the town. Smyrna (Elizabeth Barondes) is the waitress at the bar which Earl frequents with Jimbo and Baby. Baby tells Earl to keep an eye on her cousin Junior (DJ Qualls), but Junior is doing his best to get into trouble. Junior and his thuggish friend Tinker (Ryan Hurst) mug a pizza delivery boy, however when they open the bag, they have taken they discover that it actually contains $20,000 and some drugs. Earl finds out about the mugging as Junior is suddenly spending big and Junior claims that he won the lottery but cannot remember his winning numbers. A few years ago, Tiner and Junior tried to use Earl as a getaway driver in a liquor store heist. When Earl sees them robbing the store, he drives away, leading to Tinker and Junior being arrested. Tinker gets 3-5 years in prison, and Junior gets 6 weeks in juvenile detention as it was his first offense. Earl visits Tinker and allows Tinker to knock himself unconscious. Earl confiscates the money and drugs, so that when the owners come back for it, he can return it. Turns out Tinker is a bigger goof than Junior. However, Junior has already spent $2,000 of the money, and Earl and Baby have a little less than that in the bank money that Earl has promised will be used to take Baby to the city to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Its Saturday and Earl has promised that he and Baby will leave for LA on Tuesday. Earl keeps the money and drugs in the locker of the bowling alley. But then, Tinker comes by Earl's home with a gun and threatens him to hand over the stash. Earl refuses, but then Baby walks by and Tinker ends up capturing Baby. Baby beats the crap out of Tinker, but Tinker forces Earl to hand over the stash else he threatens to shoot Baby. Tinker shoots Earl, but then Baby gets herself free and mows down Tinker with his own pickup truck and saves Earl. Baby drives Earl to the doctor and he is lucky that Tinker was a bad shot. The pizza delivery boy reports the theft of drugs to Mr. Smith (Sam McMurray). Earl tells Andy that Tinker was taking revenge for back when Earl left him outside the liquor store. He doesn't tell Andy about the drugs and the cash. Junior is visited at home and is roughed up and given till Sunday night to return the stolen goods. Junior calls Earl who talks to the goons to arrange a transfer. The goons demand the missing $2000 and keep Junior as hostage till the $2000 is paid. Earl only has $1900 in his accounts and as a result Junior loses his Pinky finger. To make matters worse, the man who killed Earls' father (Thomas Haden Church) has just been released from jail, and he always swore that he would come back to get his revenge on Earl. Earl was the one who identified the person in court, which led to his incarceration. Things become more complicated when the money and drugs have been returned it turns out that they have been given to the wrong people, and now the real owners call Junior and want it back. Earl figures that Tinker, who is alive and is being kept with Jimbo, had something to do with the fake gangsters taking the money posing as the real gangsters. Turns out the fake one is Vasquez (Julian Dulce Vida) and Tinker had promised to sell the drugs to him. Tinker called Vasquez from the hospital and told him to shake down Junior to get the drugs. Earl gets Vasquez's address from Tinker and recovers the drugs and $19,900. Junior takes Vasquez's phone as recompense for his lost Pinky finger. Baby is livid that the bank account has been emptied and orders Earl to deposit the $1900 back. Earl must work out how to make up the difference. Earl goes to meet Mr Smith, with Tinker, Jimbo and Junior, and secretly followed by the Killer. Just before Mr Smith shoots Earl, Junior gets call from Baby on his cell phone, where Baby informs Earl that she has been kidnapped by Vasquez. Earl uses the distraction to get his hands on a machine gun and makes his way out of Mr. Smith's mansion. Earl, Jimbo, Tinker and Junior head to Vasquez to rescue Baby and are soon outgunned. Soon, they are joined by Mr. Smith and his goons, who followed them. A shootout ensues and 2 the gangs end up killing each other. Mr. Smith has Earl on gunpoint, but he is shot by the Killer, who saves Earl. Turns out Killer only wanted to apologize to Earl for killing his father. Throughout the confrontations, Tinker keeps changing sides and uses every opportunity to turn the gun on Earl. Earl leaves with Junior, Jimbo, and Baby, taking the cash, but leaving the drugs with Tinker, and promising to call the ambulance, so he can get help. Knowing fully well that Tinker will be put in prison for possessing such large quantities of narcotics. Baby and Earl decide to leave for LA.

On a desert road in New Mexico, a powerful demon in human form, The Collector, pursues drifter Frank Brayker. The vehicles crash and Brayker flees. Local drunk Uncle Willy takes him to a decommissioned church converted into a boarding house, where he rents a room and observes the residents: owner Irene, prostitute Cordelia, postal clerk Wally, and a convict on work release named Jeryline. A misogynistic cook named Roach arrives and informs the group about a theft attempt on his employer's car, unaware it was Brayker, and a suspicious Irene calls the sheriff. Sheriff Tupper and his deputy Bob encounter The Collector at the crash site, who convinces them that Brayker is a dangerous thief. At the boarding house, Tupper and Bob learn that Brayker is in possession of an important artifact and that he is carrying false ID. Tupper also gets word from his base that both cars were stolen and he arrests Brayker as well as The Collector. The Collector kills Tupper by punching through his skull. Driven outside by the key-like artifact Brayker possesses, The Collector draws his own blood on the sand and produces a team of demonic creatures. Brayker uses blood from the artifact to protect the building and tells the group they must wait out the night. Unable to get in, The Collector uses psychic powers to seduce and possess Cordelia. Cordelia kills Wally and cripples Irene before Brayker kills her. The group attempts to escape through old mine tunnels under the building, where Jeryline finds a boy named Danny hiding. The other townsfolk, under demonic possession, drive them back into the church. The residents demand an explanation, and Brayker reluctantly tells them the history of the key artifact. Following the creation of Earth by God, demons used seven keys to focus the power of the cosmos into their hands. When discovered, God created light, which scattered the demons and the keys across the universe. The artifact that Brayker holds is the last key needed to reclaim power; and to protect it, God had a thief named Sirach fill it with the blood of Jesus Christ. The guardians of the key, immortal while holding it, have since passed it on, refilling it with their own blood when they die. Brayker received the key from his commanding officer during World War I. Danny disappears and Jeryline rallies everyone to look for him, during which Roach sneaks the key out of Brayker's satchel. In the church attic, Irene and Bob discover that Wally was planning to attack the post office with a trunk full of weapons. The Collector soon possesses Uncle Willy, who attacks the others. While battling Willy, Roach makes a deal with The Collector to trade his life for the key, but The Collector betrays and kills him soon after Roach walks away. Brayker retrieves the key in the battle and Irene and Bob sacrifice themselves to stop the remaining minions. In the attic, The Collector brainwashes Danny, who mortally wounds Brayker before Jeryline kills him. As he dies, Brayker initiates Jeryline as a guardian of the key, deactivating all blood seals. The Collector overpowers Jeryline, taking the key from her. When he offers her a place at his side and prepares to take her heart as a trophy when she silently refuses, Jeryline confronts The Collector and spits blood from the key in his face, causing him to revert to his actual demon form before being destroyed. At dawn, Jeryline refills the key with Brayker's blood and boards a bus with her cat, sealing the door behind them. Down the road, the bus stops to pick up a stranger (Mark David Kennerly), who declines to get on stating that he'll catch the next one. Dressed identically to his predecessor and carrying the same suitcase, Jeryline realizes that he is the next Collector. After exchanging a glance in passing, the new Collector begins following on foot, whistling the theme song to the Tales from the Crypt television series.
