The Malayalam venture revolves around terrorism and shouldn`t be confused with the Tamil movie released in 2005. A bomb blast occurs on the Vilayam beach in Kerela, killing and injuring many. The Chief Minister is unhappy with the investigations and appoints a brave Crime Branch Officer Rishikesh (Suresh Gopi) to take charge. The probe leads him to a gamut of heinous crimes gone unnoticed for a very long time.

The eagerly awaited film Nadiya Kollapeta Rathri has finally hit the silver screens. This Movie directed by K. Madhu with Suresh Gopi in the lead is riveting thriller which is very laudable. The movie commences from the railway station of Salem where the Railway division forms a Railway anti criminal task force for solving cases which are their cause of concerns. The foremost case is of Souparnika Express which is on its inaugural journey between Chennai and Mangalore witnesses three gruesome murders when it is on its way. The Sharpshooter Nadiya Mather is almost on her last legs. She has been attacked in such a way that euthanasia is the only way to put her out of her misery. How movie turns out to be a thriller and that too investigative thriller of sorts. All in all it's a good movie with good performances from Suresh Gopi and Sharafuddin Tharamasi. Those who love watching Thrillers will be in for a entertaining experience as the movie unfolds.

Appu, a school boy, leaves his house as he thinks that his mother loves his brother, Unni, more. Appu's wanderings teach him the importance of life and family relationships. The story is about a 11-year-old child Appu (Pranav Mohanlal) who has a feeling that his mother gives more love and attention to his younger brother (Unni). Though Appu argues with his mom to give his younger brother the same workload as he does, he is the one who goes to the temple early morning to sing the Sopanam after which he provides milk to a tea shop and then goes to school. His only friend is the Swamiji who sits next to the temple and tells him the stories of the famous "Naranathu Bhrandhan". Appu at times even imagines himself as Naranathu Bhrandhan. Over a period of time he is convinced that his mom loves only his younger brother and this feeling heads Appu to consider his younger brother as his enemy. One day due to some reason Appu hurts his younger brother. After seeing his brother bleeding and unconscious, Appu runs away from the village and ending up with a child labour broker. Appu is employed under contract at a rich man's house. The rich man's children treat him very badly, which drives Appu into the past memories of his mother. Running away from there he lands up in the hands of another child labour contractor where again he is cheated. All this makes Appu to develop a good feeling for his mother and brother. One night after a dream about his mother, he leaves the town and returns home to see his mother. It was too late by then as his mother is no more. Now he misses something in life. Life takes a new turn for Appu when he decides to stay back at home and take care of his brother leaving us with a message.

Major Ravi Mamman (Mammootty) arrests two LTTE terrorists in Bangalore, who are on a mission to assassinate the Indian prime minister on his visit to the city. On the run, he identifies the government minister K.K.Nair (Janardanan) as the main conspirator behind the assassination plot. Nair anticipates a political coup after the death of the prime minister, through which he hopes to seize power. However, Mamman's attempts foil his ambition. Nair tries to buy out Mamman, who refuses his offers. In an attempt to save himself, Nair shoots Ravi Mamman, but the bullet accidentally hits Susan, Mamman's girlfriend, who dies on the spot. Nair fabricates a criminal case against Ravi Mamman, of killing Susan. Ravi is court-marshalled and sent to jail. Upon release, Ravi leaves to Dubai, where he emerges as a successful businessman in a short time. His business empire is spread all over the Middle-East. He is assisted by Chandran Nair (N. F. Varghese), an over-enthusiastic NRI. Ravi's sudden acquisition of power and influence makes him an enemy of many who are eagerly waiting for a chance to finish him off. Swaminathan (Nedumudi Venu), an accountant and a fatherlike figure for Ravi, is in deep financial trouble. He wins a lawsuit and gains several million Dirhams, but Victor Sebastian (Cochin Haneefa), his cunning attorney, cheats him by conspiring with Kishan Narayan Bhatta (Nirmal Pandey), an underworld don from Mumbai. Victor kills Swaminathan and his wife (Urmila Unni), after forcefully transferring properties to his name. Ammu (Anjala Zaveri), Swaminathan's daughter reaches Dubai from Bangalore for the funeral. Ravi Mamman promises her that he will recover her property. Kishan Narayan Bhatta tries many ways to resist Ravi Mamman. Lieutenant Kiran Pothan Cheriyan (Biju Menon), once a subordinate of Ravi in the Army, is in love with Alice, the sister of Ravi. Ravi Mamman, while coming to know about this relationship, decides to make Kiran a responsible guy and hands over t Major Ravi Mammen who is betrayed in his own country, reaches Dubai where he becomes a business tycoon over a decade. When unexpected hurdles arise out of the blue, he realizes his old enemies have joined hands with new ones to tackle him. How Ravi survives this forms the crux of the story. —Arun Kumar
