Directed by P.Vasu, the film revolves around a family, in whose mansion strange things start to happen anfter Senthil (Prabhu) and Ganga (Jyothika) marry against the wishes of their family, and move into this mansion. The incidents are attributed to Chandramukhi-a palace dancer, whose ghost is believed to be haunting the mansion. But is it really her ghost, or any one of the suspicious members of the extended family, will be looked into by ``psychiatrist extraordinaire`` Dr. Sarvanan (Rajnikanth). The movie serves as an absolute treat for lovers of psychological thrillers and Rajnikanth fans.

Kochu Kurup and Aniyankutty fall in love with the same girl. When Aniyankutty comes to know that she loves his friend, he plans to sabotage their relationship, resulting in hilarious events. Darling tells the story of two youths Subhash Chandra Bose and Karthik alias Aniyankutty. Subhash Chandra Bose, called 'Kochchukurup' by his near and dear ones, is forced to leave his parents under certain circumstances and go to Bangalore where lives his dear friend Karthik alias Aniyankutty, a rich youth who lives in grand style.Aniyankutty spends his time flirting with girls, assisted by his caretaker cum friend cum well wisher Appachan, By strange coincidence, both Aniyankutty and Kochchukurup fall head over heels in love with the same girl Padmaja Warrier under totally different circumstances. The problem with Kochchukurup is that he has never seen Padmaja, but they had talked over the phone and Padmaja too is passionately in love with him, of course without seeing him even once.Aniyankutty, who comes to know of this, turns selfish in his love and starts playing tricks to prevent both the lovers from coming together. Then on it is sort of hide and seek between the two lovers, with Aniyankutty moving hell and heaven to prevent their union. And the film thus moves to an interesting climax. —Abhi

The film is set in British India. The story is about a young doctor, Govardhan (Mohanlal), who is wrongly accused of bombing a train carrying 55 people including British officials, and thus jailed in a cellular jail at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands by the British. The film shows sufferings of hundreds of Indian prisoners in the cellular jail, including leading participants of the freedom movement. The extremely inhuman conditions faced by the prisoners in the jail is accurately depicted in the film. Alex Draper plays the sadistic jailor David Berry, who is of Irish descent, while John Kolvenbach plays the kind-hearted English doctor, Len Hutton. Annu Kapoor plays the role of Veer Savarkar who is incarcerated there and tries his best to keep the spirit of the prisoners going through unbelievable torture. Tabu plays Mohanlal's lover who keeps waiting forever for him to come back.
