10 year old Nanhe lives in arid Jaisalmer with his mother, sister and camel. He earns his living as a tourist guide and organizing camel safaris. Unlike other 10yr olds, Nanhe`s dreams aren`t fickle. He has just one dream to meet actor Bobby Deol. And on one lucky day, Nanhe gets the chance to appear in a shot with Bobby in a film. From that day they become friends. Nanhe writes to his dost, Bobby regularly, telling him about his triumphs, his battles and his joys. And as Nanhe grows up, Bobby`s thoughts influence his thoughts and actions. When Nanhe hears that Bobby is coming to Jaisalmer for a shoot, he is overjoyed. They meet and Nanhe`s life changes forever. His dost gives him words of wisdom which help him to overcome obstacles and also stand up for himself.

Nanhe Jaisalmer lives a poor lifestyle in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, along with his mom, Sarla, and sister, Suman. His father took advantage of Sarla's illiteracy, sold their property and absconded, leaving the trio to live a near-destitute life. When he was four he was cast in a movie starring Bobby Deol. This minor role did have a major impact on his life and he became obsessed with Bobby so much so that he had Suman write to him regularly as well as collected posters and photographs and hung them on the walls of his tiny bedroom. Six years later he is now a tourist guide, able to converse in Italian, German, French, and English, even though he neglected to attend school, instead spent all his spare time watching Bobby's movies, and became the main bread-earner for his family. He instantly gives his approval to Badal (a movie title starring Bobby) who wants to wed Suman. Nanhe is thrilled when he finds out that a Bobby will be appearing in 'Yaar' which is scheduled to be filmed in Jaisalmer and Barmer. One day while traveling on his camel, Raja, he comes to the rescue of none other than Bobby himself whose car was stuck in the sand dunes. He is thrilled when Bobby recognizes him, and they continue to meet secretly. Bobby encourages him to study, overcome a bully, Maggoo, as well as become a better person. When invitations are sent out for Suman's wedding, he gives one to Bobby, who promises to also attend the ceremony. Avinash Malhotra (Bobby Deol) is married to Sanjana (Lara Dutta). One night Sanjana is murdered, and Avinash is arrested for the murder of his wife. An astrologer forecasts that wealthy industrialist Avinash Malhotra will find his soul-mate on new years' eve. Avinash disbelieves this, but does attend the party and he meets his dream-girl and soul-mate, Sanjana, and both in love with each other. They get married and settle down in a harmonious lifestyle. Shortly after this, Avinash notices very odd behavior on her part, as she leaves the house at very odd hours, and when he is not present, lies to him about where she has been, and does not answer the phone. He follows her. He finds out that she has a secret male lover. When he confronts her, an argument ensues, and Avinash drinks himself to sleep. The next morning he is woken up by Police Inspector Vishnu Patnaik, arrested and charged with killing Sanjana. On being questioned, Avinash admits that they did have an argument, but he does not remember anything thereafter as he had too much alcohol. Avinash's advocate friend, Rohit, does not think that he is a killer and is on the verge of proving it in court, when a man claiming to be Sanjana's maternal uncle, Chamanlal, gives evidence that he had seen Sanjana being killed at the hands of her husband, and that her body is buried in the backyard. The police locate the body, identify it as that of Sanjana, and the court sentences Avinash with the death penalty. While being transported to jail, Avinash manages to escape in order to try and find out who killed his wife, and who framed him. The case is called up in court with Avinash's close friend Rohit as his defense lawyer who also gives him the assurance not to worry. Rohit is on the vogue of winning the case when a man named Chamanlal enters claiming that he is Sanjana's maternal uncle and providing evidence which leads the court to a rotten half decompose dead body.
