Karuppu closed its theatrical run with ₹223.92 Crgross (₹190.29 Cr net) from 1.25 Cr admissions — India’s #2 grossing film in its release window, behind only Peddi. The Tamil original delivered ₹174.4 Cr (77.9%) and the Telugu version, Veerabhadrudu, added ₹49.5 Cr — itself the #3 Telugu film of Q2. The run was heavily front-loaded: after a quiet Thursday opening (₹5.3 Cr), word of mouth built through the weekend to a ₹28.5 Cr Sunday, and week 1 alone banked 49.3% of the lifetime total. Tamil Nadu contributed 59.7%; Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad together took 34.4%.

A word-of-mouth open. Day 1 (₹5.3 Cr) was the run's quietest opening day, but business grew every day to Sunday's ₹28.5 Cr — a 5× climb inside four days.

Two versions, two economics. Tamil ran at ₹194 ATP / 35% occupancy; Telugu at ₹142 / 29% — but the Telugu version stretched the footprint by 305 cities.

Steep decay after week 2. Holds of −37% (wk 2) and −55% (wk 3) gave way to −78% in week 4; 81.9% of lifetime gross came in the first two weeks.

The Run

Day by Day

A textbook word-of-mouth trajectory: a soft Thursday start, a towering first Sunday, strong weekend resurgences through May, then a fast taper once the June wave (Peddi) took over screens.
