My Love Came Back
A violinist at Brissac Academy receives anonymous funding through Tony to attend concerts with Julius. Complications arise when Tony substitutes for Julius, causing misunderstandings, while Amelia considers switching to swing music. Amelia is a gifted violinist who is in danger of quitting the Brissac Academy of Music. Julius arranges to have a scholarship given to her through his employee Tony so Julius can escort Amelia to every musical event in the city. The trouble begins when he cannot meet her one night and Tony goes in his place. Tony believes that Julius and Amelia are a couple, then his son Paul thinks that Tony and Amelia are a couple, as he is sending her the money. The worst part is that Amelia might leave classical music for swing music with classmates Dusty, Joy, and the band. —Tony Fontana <tony.fontana@spacebbs.com> Julius Malette, the wealthy owner of Monarch Music Co., the makers of Malette phonographs, has finally relented and accepted Dr. Kobbe's offer to become President of the Brissac Academy of Music, a classical music school, keeping it as such if the musical director, Professor Geza Peyer, has his way. Julius accepted the position only if he is somewhat anonymous in the role. His primary goal is wanting to help the academy's star violinist, Amelia Cornell, who broke the rules of her scholarship by taking side work in her need for additional money to help her family. Secretly through his company, he becomes her benefactor, which includes he accompanying her to concerts and the like that she could not afford to attend if left to her own devices. She is told the money is an additional scholarship coming through the school. In light of accepting the appointment at the academy, Julius appoints a new company Vice President, Tony Baldwin, ostensibly the company's new number 1 man, who he asked to show the money in the company books as one of his expenses. That leads to complications as Julius' young adult son, Paul Malette, discovers the expense in the books and believes it is Tony's personal expense, something Tony accused Paul of doing in another situation. The situation becomes more complicated as Julius, Tony and Paul begin to believe the others of impropriety with Amelia, who is a proverbial good girl, but Tony and Amelia who do fall in love with each other upon meeting. The situation becomes even more complicated when Amelia's fellow classmates, engaged Joy O'Keefe and Dusty Rhodes, are aiming to start their own swing band, playing music derived from the classics. —Huggo
