As the Traveling Man crosses over from this life into the next, he visits with each of eight friends. In this second half of his journey, he travels through the day into evening, seeing the lives of four friends in a new light. In this second of two parts, "Praying the Hours (Part 2)" follows the second half of Traveling Man's last day on earth. He, killed in a car accident, is allowed to watch-and influence-the lives of his loved ones before he departs. Given eyes to see them all from the vantage point of the eternal, he accompanies "Prime" through a difficult decision, meets a stranger in "Sext" whose presence is a mystery to them both, visits his old friend "None" as he mourns a loss, says goodbye to his beloved fiance "Vespers," and pays one last debt to "Compline," completing the cycle of a 24-hour day.
