Amjad (Akshay Kumar) is an auto rickshaw driver, who is searching for his long lost brother Munna, and Avinash ( Tusshar Kapoor) wants to be a star in the Bollywood industry. Rathod learns that Azhar is none other than Amjad's younger brother, Munna, and arrests Amjad and beats him up. A am Azhar calls Rathod at the Bandra Terminus where he has kept passengers as hostages. He asks to make a deal to release Masood and Amjad and demands a helicopter for escaping to Pakistan. Rathod goes according to the plan and reaches the station where a horrified Amjad learns that his brother is a terrorist. Amjad pleads Azhar to leave the innocent people but the latter denies by naming his actions as jihad. A fight ensues during an explosion at the station which kills Azhar's men. Just when Azhar and Masood try to attack Rathod and Amjad where he shoots Masood. Azhar tries to kill Meghna and is killed by Amjad to save her. Rathod condoles Amjad to which he refuses and disowns Azhar instead, stating that any person who kills innocent people in the name of religion should be gunned down and considers Avinash as his brother. At the end, Rathod, Amjad and Avinash return from the ambush.

Ishwarchand Thakur (Amitabh Bachchan) and Sumitra Thakur (Shefali Shah) are a married couple who run a toy factory together. It gets even worse when he elopes with his girlfriend, Pooja (Priyanka Chopra), the daughter of Natu (Boman Irani). When Pooja gets pregnant, both Ishwar and Sumitra decide to make Aditya realize his responsibilities, as he will have to take care of his wife and child. They take drastic measures and throw Aditya out of the house along with Pooja. As a result, Aditya and Pooja live in a room at the back of the house in the garden. The force becomes so bad that Aditya begins to hate his father and they do not speak to each other for a long time. At the same time Aditya becomes aware of his role in life. However, Ishwar has done all this for a reason and is hiding something. Ishwar is trying to make sure that his son is secure but because he is suffering from lung cancer and he wants his son to be responsible. Aditya succeeds in becoming a responsible man and also finds out the truth about his father when his father comes for his performance on the stage. He steps on the stage but instead he asks the audience to pray to god to give a minute of their lives to keep his father alive until his son's birth. His father is alive until his son is born and he names the baby boy 'Ishwar' after himself and he dies. The movie reaches its climax with Aditya welcoming children at his father's toy factory and playing with an alone, disabled boy like Ishwar did at the start of the film with his family there including his toddler Ishwar. The spirit of Ishwar touches Sumitra's flowers in her hair and it reminds her of the old times.

Babu knows many of the gang's secrets, and Chhote promises him that if he keeps his mouth shut, they will look after his family; they betray him. He is rescued by an honest police inspector (Ashish Vidyarthi). Babu returns home to find that his wife Poornima (Raakhee), Arjun (his son), and Pooja (his daughter) live a destitute life from Chhote's betrayal. He tells Poornima that they betrayed him for his silence and swears vengeance. He then teams up with the inspector and reveals the locations of their deals, and many gang members are arrested. Chhote finds Babu hiding and threatens him. He and his men take him to Babu's home, and punish him in front of Poornima and her children. Arjun is out doing his job to earn money, and only Poornima and Pooja are present at home. Poornima begs Chhote to forgive them and promises to leave the city. Chhote grabs Pooja and then tells Poornima that he will take his daughter with them, raise her for 10-12 years, then sell her. Babu tries to save his daughter and Chhote decapitates him. Pooja screams for help when she sees her brother returning home from work. He fails to follow her, and he runs back home to find his father dead and his mother having a mental breakdown; she considers Pooja's toy doll her daughter and does not recognize Arjun. Arjun goes to the inspector, who cannot find Chhote or Pooja. He tells Arjun that they have completely disappeared and may have fled the city. Arjun promises that he will not give up and promises to search for his sister. Ten years later, Poornima is housed in a mental hospital, and Arjun (Akshay Kumar) has become a high-profile vigilante. He works for the police inspector, now the Commissioner of Police, by exposing illegal firearms transactions. The Commissioner of Police tells Arjun that he finds a clue that may lead him to Pooja. He tells Arjun how after Chhote and his gang murdered his father, fled the city and reached the city of Ghaziabad, Chhote and Rajjo were killed in a police chase. D.K. Sharma took over the gang and disappeared, and there has been no news of him since. He learned about Shetty (Rami Reddy), a famous arms smuggler who was once Chhote's driver. Arjun finds Shetty and asks where his sister is. Shetty tells him that Sharma knows, and tries to shoot Arjun, but is shot by the Commissioner instead. From the police control room, they see Sharma arriving from a flight, and him taking a girl named Tina (Kareena Kapoor) on a Rajasthan tour. Arjun catches Sharma and interrogates him. Sharma says that Rajjo is still alive and knows where his sister is, and Tina is his daughter. Arjun drops Sharma to his death. Back at the police control room, the Commissioner shows camera footage proving Rajjo is alive. Arjun travels to South Africa and meets Sardar Vichitra Singh (Gulshan Grover), and tells him that he has come to find Rajjo. Arjun reveals to Tina about her father's identity. Tina confronts Rajjo, and he realizes his mistakes. Before he can reveal where Chhote has kept Pooja he gets shot and dies in Tina's arms. Tina tells Arjun to follow Rocky. Chhote makes an appearance, and Arjun kills him and Rocky. Arjun comes back to India with Pooja and reunites with Tina and his family.

Baldev's next generation includes his son Vikrant (Rahul Dev), his daughter Preeti (Preeti Jhangiani), and Preeti's husband Guru Gulab Khatri (Akshay Kumar). Vikrant and Preeti are step siblings, as Baldev's children from different mothers. Champaklal (Asrani) is Baldev's lawyer. Baldev himself did not trust Vikrant, but had full faith in Guru. Baldev had left a will in which all his estate was split equally between Vikrant, Preeti, and Guru, which included the diamonds as well. To claim the diamonds, all three benefactors must be present at the bank or, if dead, their death certificates must be presented. If all 3 die, the diamonds will go to Champaklal. And if Champaklal dies, the diamonds will go to an animal welfare trust. Preeti and Guru are married only in name as Baldev got them married. But they do not stay together. Preeti wants to divorce Guru, but he refuses. Shortly after Baldev's death, Vikrant attempts to eliminate Guru by assassinating the Indian home minister in full view of television cameras while disguised as him. Guru flees to the US disguised as someone else to escape prosecution in India. Guru moves to the street where Anmol (Aftab Shivdasani) and his family live. Anmol is married to Mona (Amrita Arora). Anmol is a dentist and his secretary is Tina (Aarti Chabria). Tina is a big fan of mafia dons. Mona is a dominant wife and demands that Anmol does all the housework and also hand over all of his earnings to her. Anmol recognizes Guru from the news as a wanted criminal from India. Guru warns Anmol not to reveal his identity to anyone, especially the police. But Guru likes Anmol and his father-in-law Manilal, and their innocence. Manilal forgets the names of the people around him and also forgets his name too. Manilal cares for Anmol and does not approve of how Mona treats him. Anmol's mother-in-law Paramjeet (Supriya Pilgaonkar) forces him to go to India, along with his father-in-law, Manilal (Paresh Rawal) to tell Vikrant about Guru and get the reward of Rs 2 Crores. Vikrant's goons, Yeda Anna and Chota Chathri, pick up Anmol and Manilal from their India hotel and take them to Vikrant. Anmol sees Preeti and falls in love with her. He is heartbroken to find that Preeti is married to Guru. Everything turns wrong when Vikrant doesn't give the reward and instead sends Anmol and Manilal back to the USA with his hired men, Yeda Anna (Sunil Shetty) and Chota Chathri (Johnny Lever) to kill Guru. Anmol figures out Vikrant's plan and calls Guru from India to warn him. Preeti reaches out to Anmol and says that she wants to divorce Guru in exchange for her share of the diamonds. Anmol admits his feelings to Preeti. Anmol, Manilal, Yeda and Chota return to the US. Later, they find out that Yeda Anna was a double agent: He was working for Guru the whole time because he offered more money. Yeda calls Vikrant, that Anmol's information is correct and asks Vikrant to come to the US. Yeda and Chota are asked to stay with Manilal and Anmol, and they both terrorize their wives who now start respecting their husbands. Yeda and Chota learn that the whole tussle is for diamonds worth Rs 1000 Crores. Yeda is not happy at receiving only Rs 5 Crores from Guru and wants the whole thing. Tina is smitten with Guru and asks Anmol to introduce her to Guru. Tina knows Guru's whole history and Guru is impressed with her. Meanwhile, realizing the Yeda will get the money from Guru, Mona tries to seduce him. The group receive Vikrant and Preeti at the airport and drive to the hotel. At the hotel, Vikrant is kidnapped by a mysterious group of Chinese goons. Yeda Anna receives a phone call and finds out that the kidnapped Vikrant was a duplicate of the real one and the real one was going to come later by a private plane. They kill the second Vikrant (who arrived later by plane) and put his body in a car and leave it by the Brooklyn Bridge. With Vikrant's death, Preeti and Guru each get half of the diamonds. When they are outside the bank, a group of policemen arrest them and take them to an unknown desert area. It is revealed that Vikrant is still alive, as the original Vikrant got himself kidnapped by Chinese goons. Vikrant gets the diamonds and tries to kill Guru. A fight occurs. At the end of the fight, Guru kills Vikrant. When it's all over, the group ask each other to find out who has the diamonds. Anmol has them and says he will give them to Guru if he gives Preeti a divorce. Tina convinces Guru to give the divorce to Preeti. Guru arrives at the location selected by Anmol and gets the diamonds, while giving Anmol the divorce papers. Yeda Anna betrays Guru and tries to steal the diamonds. Guru wins in a fight and gives diamonds worth Rs 5 Crores to Yeda Anna while hanging him to a forklift and having him stand on Chota Chathri's shoulders. In the end, Anmol and his love, Preet, are seen going to India. Anmol's ex-father-in-law gives him some diamonds that he received from Guru as Preeti's share. Preeti comments that she didn't know that Guru was so nice.

Rajesh Purohit (Mohnish Bahl) enters the family, and deviously impresses Vijay with his efficiency, and his eldest daughter Priti (Juhi Chawla) with his charm, whereas his main goal is to impoverish their family and take over Vijay's fortune. Soon, Vijay approves the marriage of Priti and Rajesh who becomes a son-in-law who stays at home. Meanwhile, Ajay falls in love with Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) and plans to marry her. Nisha is Jagmohan's daughter. At first Ajay finds a 100 flaws in Nisha and tells her that she has no sense of dressing. Nisha converts herself to a traditional Indian girl and meets Ajay. Now AJay is interested in her, but Nisha says now she can get any decent guy she wants and starts dating Suniel Shetty to make Ajay jealous. The whole family goes on a picnic to woo Nisha and it turns out that Suniel is Nisha's brother and was only acting to make Ajay jealous. Vijay convinces Ajay to first gain experience in the family business, even though Ajay wants to start his own business. However, ideological differences result in disputes between the two. Hari Singh (Ashish Vidyarthi) is a factory supervisor & union leader who mistreats his workers & gambles during working hours and Ajay sees this. Ajay confronts Hari, who is rude and dismissive towards Ajay. When Hari hits Rajesh, Ajay retaliates and beats Hari. Hari calls a strike. Vijay tells Ajay that he knows everything about Unions and he still ignores this and uses the union for his own purposes. He wants Ajay to apologize to Hari. Vijay forces Ajay to apologize to Hari. Consequently, Ajay stands firm in his decision to start his own business. He asks his father for economic assistance. When Vijay refuses to do so, Ajay takes a loan. When Vijay discovers this, he is furious and throws Ajay out of the house (Rajesh tries to talk to Ajay into accepting Vijay's money and Ajay tells him to get out of his room. Rajesh decides to leave the house (pretending to be offended of being told to leave the house), but Vijay throws out Ajay instead). Ajay finally marries Nisha and they move into their new house. Jagmohan refuses to support Ajay, but Nisha goes against him & marries Ajay. Rajesh makes Vijay sign a power of attorney, without his knowledge, hidden in a stack of normal papers. This is how Vijay goes bankrupt, and all his fortune goes automatically to Rajesh. The lenders arrive at Vijay's doorstep asking for their money back, else they will liquidate all of Vijay's properties, including his house. Rajesh reveals his true nature and it emerges, he was in cahoots with Hari and the money lenders (he had mortgaged the properties for list price, but pocketed half the amount himself). Rajesh knew that Ajay never asked him to leave the house, only his room, but Rajesh deliberately overplayed the incident to get Vijay to throw Ajay out of the house. Priti overhears all this and is shocked. As Ajay finds out what happened, he gets that Rajesh was the one who had incited arguments between the two. Ajay tries to get close to his father again, which causes a crisis in his relationship with Nisha, who is not pleased with Ajay's reunion with his family. Ajay and Nisha get separated due to consistent arguments between them, and while she finds out that she is pregnant, Ajay has already returned home. His mission now is to return his family fortune and his father's faith, as the latter still cannot forgive him their dispute. Vijay and Ajay eventually become reconciled, although he is yet to return the fortune. They get a stay order on the house auction and buy some time to figure the mess out. Vijay rules out harming Rajesh as that would impact Priti. Rajesh begins to treat Priti badly (after Ajay confronts Rajesh and beats him up), and she also comes back home. Ajay is asked by Vijay to get Nisha back home (she had gone to her father after the tiff). But when Ajay arrives there, Jagmohan asks him to sign divorce papers. Ajay brings Nisha home in exchange (in a deal made with Jagmohan only) for signing the divorce papers and asks her not to reveal the truth to his family. But Nisha is shocked when Ajay actually does sign the papers and hands them to Nisha, who goes back home with her dad. As auction is imminent, the factory workers finally realize that they are going to lose everything. They beat up Hari for conspiring against Vijay and his business. Ajay saves Hari and he is grateful. The workers pool their savings and their houses to gather enough cash to buy the factory and the house at the auctions. Ladoo bids against Rajesh at the auction and the winning bid is Rs 125 Crores. Now Ajay has 2 days to pay the money. Ajay then decides to return his family fortune violently (with the full force of all the factory workers) and forces Rajesh to sign another power of attorney which says that the money comes back to Vijay. Vijay uses the money to pay the auction bill. Priti, in a letter tells Rajesh that she can never forgive him for the atrocities he inflicted on her family and orders him to leave for good. Nisha reunites with Ajay when she learns that the divorce was not mutual and was engineered by her father, and the family finally comes together and lives happily as it used to be before.

Raj (Bobby Deol) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor) meet by chance (Priya was thinking that Raj was stalking her when in reality Priya had walked away with her umbrella at the church) and fall in love after a whirlwind romance. Raj gets a job at the polo club, where Priya's dad (Dalip Tahil) is the chairman. They marry and reside in Switzerland, where they meet another Indian couple: Vikram (Akshay Kumar) and Sonia (Bipasha Basu). The couples quickly become friends and decide to go on a Christmas vacation together to Mauritius. Raj was against going to Mauritius as he is not as wealthy as Vikram. But Vikram fakes an accident and gets a payout of $50K on his accident insurance policy and offers that money to Raj to convince him to come. Priya insists that Raj should go, Raj agrees to wants to pay for his own and Priya's expenses. During their vacation, Raj sees Vikram with another woman, kissing and looking intimate. At the same time, Sonia begins to try to seduce Raj, who rejects her. Vikram notices Raj looking at Sonia and casually talks to him about wife swapping and Vicky casually suggests Raj to enjoy with Sonia and asks whether he (Vicky )could enjoy with Priya overnight , this upsets Raj and an argument breaks out between the two men. Raj takes Priya away from Mauritius. However, a couple of days later Vikram and Sonia also return, Raj & Vikram they resolve their issues and become friends again (Raj saves Vikram's life when a car falls on him when he was working under it for repairs). On Vikram's birthday, the two men celebrate by getting drunk together, sharing bottles of alcohol. Once again, Vikram asks whether he could become Raj for one night, which Raj rebuffs, but still, both men end up in opposite houses. The next day Raj wakes up to find a semi-naked woman in bed and realizes he is in Vicky's house. After talking to Priya about the events from last night, he imagines Vicky was able to seduce and convince Priya to go ahead with his wife swapping and making passionate love throughout the night (Although Priya never said anything to that effect, but her half sentences gave that impression). After some time, Sonia is found dead, and Raj is accused of her murder by Vikram saying that Raj spent the whole night with Sonia and additionally his fingerprints are found on the murder weapon - an alcohol bottle. Priya is shocked as she never did anything with Vikram. In jail, Vikram visits Raj and offers him 14 Lakh dollars if he admits to killing Sonia and takes the punishment of life imprisonment (14 yrs). In court Vikram says that Raj took him to the airport bar after leaving the wives at home. But neither had money, so Raj went back to bring his wallet, but instead went into Vikram's house to sexually assault Sonia. Sonia resisted and Raj killed her. However, one of Raj's neighbors is also in court and he remembers seeing that 2 men entered Vikram's house and not one. Raj alleges in court that he went into Vikram's house to warn Sonia about his errant behavior, but then passed out. Determined to prove his innocence, Raj manages to escape from the court and is chased by the Swiss police. He meets Priya, who eventually believes his innocence and aids him in finding out what really happened. Raj tells Priya that he never went to the airport bar with Vikram and wants to prove this. They meet their neighbor who tells Raj that Vikram left alone that night. But later that night 2 men returned to Vikram's house (when Raj was already inside). He decides to search Vikram's house, only to be interrupted by Vikram, who calls the police and then reveals that everything was planned in advance. Raj escapes in Vikram's car with Priya. Raj finds a boarding pass that belongs to Sonia Bajaj from her book in Vikram's car, which states that Sonia arrived in Zurich on 29 December - however, Sonia was supposedly murdered on that night. Raj suspects her to be the woman he saw with Vikram, traveling to Geneva together. In Geneva, Priya finds the address of the woman who bought the ticket to Zurich for the 29th Dec. At her house, Raj finds an insurance officer who is trying to find evidence that Vikram was involved in the death of his wife, in order to receive her life insurance payment of $100 million. Working with the insurance agent, Raj traces Vikram to a cruise ship. There, he sees Vikram dancing with a woman who is revealed to be 'Sonia', alive and well. Raj confronts Vikram, who finally explains the whole devious plan - the woman whom he kissed in Mauritius was his actual wife Sonia Bajaj (Mink Brar), while the woman with him that Priya and Raj were introduced to in Switzerland is his girlfriend Neeta. Vikram, a struggling musician, married the wealthy and glamorous Sonia and convinced her to take out an insurance plan of $100 million on herself. That night, Vikram went to the airport to pick up the real Sonia. He went to the bar to get a witness that he was there, and slipped out to take Sonia home. The neighbor saw Vikram and Soni entering Vikram's house. Vikram used Raj's champagne bottle to kill Sonia and disfigure her face. Then he put Neeta on the flight to Geneva and went back to the airport bar to stay there till the morning. Vikram boasts about having pinned the murder on Raj. However, Raj takes Vikram to a computer and shows him his empty bank account. Raj says that he had guessed the password, "Everything is planned", something that Vikram used to say a lot, and used it to transfer the money back to the insurance company. Raj also reveals that everything Vikram said had been recorded. A fight erupts between the two and Neeta dies in the conflict. Angered at losing Neeta, Vikram gets aggressive, killing the insurance officer and seemingly kills Raj. He chases Priya to kill her too, but Raj is able to save her. Vikram dies when he is impaled by an anchor from the cruise ship. Raj and Priya return to India in the end.
