They both live in Amritsar, and Vicky visits Rumi at early hours of the morning, or late at night to have sex with her in her room, by leaping across neighborhood terraces. When they're caught red-handed by Rumi's family, pressure builds up to get married. Rumi is an orphan, but lives in a house with her grandfather (Arun Bali) and Chacha (Akshay Arora), Chachi (Vishavpreet Kaur) and Rumi's cousin Kiran (Ashnoor Kaur) and Babloo (Rupinderjit Singh). Rumi's family run a sports equipment shop, and Rumi herself had the potential to be a national level hockey player. But she gave up the sport presumably because it reminded her of her father too much. Despite being caught, both Rumi and Vicky are insatiable and continue to meet in her room, till they are caught again. The family gives Rumi 2 days to produce Vicky with his parents to ask for her hand in marriage. But Vicky has cold feet and keeps avoiding Rumi's request to bring his parents over and ask her hand in marriage. Vicky argues that he needs more time as he has just started his DJ career and needs to focus on the same. Eventually, Rumi gives up on him and agrees to an arranged marriage via matchmaker Kakaji (Saurabh Sachdeva). That's when Rajbir Robbie Bhatia (Abhishek Bachchan), a banker, enters the love triangle. Robbie is a banker and lives in London. He has come to India to get married. In India, he lives with his father (Swairaj Sandhu), mother (Neelu Kohli) and brother (Vikram Kochhar). Robbie sees Rumi's photo and wants to meet her for a possible wedding. His other option is Lovely Singh (Sukhmani Sadana) who is a dentist and a very homely girl. But Robbie is now besotted with Rumi. Even Robbie's father says that Rumi will be roller coaster ride, but Robbie does not want to play safe in life. Kakaji knows that Rumi's affair with Vicky is not hidden from anyone. He visits Rumi's grandfather, who says that the affair is over and that he trusts Rumi not to dishonor the family. Rumi decides to elope with Vicky and leaves with him early in the morning before anyone wakes up. She realizes that while Vicky is there for her but has not thought anything for their future. Vicky had no money, no idea where they were going, and has no clue what they will be doing next. Vicky didn't even know if they were headed to Delhi or Shimla. As such they have no option but to go back. Vicky admits that he is not responsible and hence he also shies away from marrying Rumi, but he also says that he is the only one who can satisfy her sexually. They are both equally passionate about sex. Again, Vicky decides to bring his parents over to ask for Rumi's hand in marriage. Rumi's family have to say no to Robbie's family (who were about to come to meet Rumi later the same day), in a huge embarrassment. But then again, Vicky fails to show up at the last moment and this time Rumi says yes to Robbie. The families meet. Robbie goes to a bar that night, where Vicky confronts him, that Rumi is his. Robbie knows that Vicky was Rumi's boyfriend but won't ask her about it. Vicky, meanwhile, gets drunk and threatens Kakaji at his home that Rumi will never marry anyone else. When Rumi finds out, she visits Vicky's house and narrates the whole situation to Vicky's parents. She says that she offered to get engaged and Vicky refused, and now he won't let her get married to anyone else. Vicky's parents also agree with Rumi. On Mehndi night, Vicky again comes by to meet Rumi to stop her decision to marry Robbie. Rumi comes out and insults Vicky but knows that Vicky is right, and she won't be happy with Robbie. The night before the wedding Rumi goes to meet Robbie and tells him that she is not prepared to get married. Vicky's parents now talk to him to stop meddling with Rumi's life as they know Vicky has never fixated on a goal in life. He wants things to be served to him on a platter and has never worked hard for anything in his life. He just wants the trophy without the sweat and blood. Vicky understands their point and steps back from Robbie and Rumi, who get married. Rumi is on her honeymoon with Robbie in Manali. Rumi consummates her marriage with Robbie on her second night, when she sees that Robbie is not forcing himself upon her. She messages Vicky, who doesn't message her back. Vicky eventually responds with a video of him being in bed with his latest conquest. Rumi returns from her honeymoon early and goes to Vicky and threatens him to stay away as he had his chance, and he blew it. Meanwhile Robbie starts bonding with Rumi. Vicky approaches Rumi in front of Robbie and asks for her back. Rumi is angry at Vicky and goes to him but ends up having sex with him after seeing his passion for her. Rumi is ashamed of herself for cheating on Robbie. Even then she finds Robbie supportive and willing to wait for her love. One day Robbie follows Rumi and finds that she has been having sex with Vicky behind his back. he is heartbroken. When Rumi comes back home, Robbie confronts her and asks her to make a choice. The next day Robbie decides to divorce Rumi. Vicky swoops in with a marriage proposal of his own, but this time Rumi realizes her mistake that Robbie was the right guy for her. She tells Vicky to make a career for himself and tells him that he will always be her first love. This allows Vicky to let go of her Rumi. Rumi then goes to divorce court and tries very hard to turn things around with Robbie. She finally succeeds when Robbie invites her to breakfast at the remaining nights of their honeymoon in Manali.

When Meera walks out of a party late one night, she gets attacked by a group of unknown men. Although she escapes through the skin of her teeth, it leaves her traumatised. Arjun, partly blaming himself for not being there that night, tries to make up for it by treating her to a luxurious desert holiday. As they stop on a Highway dhaba for dinner, they witness a young girl being picked up by a bunch of hoodlums. Arjun chooses to step in, unmindful of the danger ahead.

Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Neil Bhoopalam) are a happy yuppie couple living in Gurgaon. They're going to a friend's party and making loving banter in their car. At the party, Meera gets an urgent work call and has to rush to office. She is attacked by some street punks who smash her Car's window. Meera manages to escape but is mentally shocked by the incident. The local cop suggests to the couple they get a gun which they do, using their police contacts. Meera's birthday is coming up and Arjun suggests a road trip. Meera completes a business presentation, and the couple head out, Arjun presenting Meera with cigarettes as a birthday gift before the actual birthday. They learn from a toll attendant that previous night an attendant was murdered at the same toll, which makes Arjun wonder whether they should continue or not. They stop at a roadside Dhaba for lunch where Meera has a smoke in the ladies' washroom. A petrified young girl, who had banged into their car earlier, arrives and pleads for help, saying few men outside are about to kill her. Meera shakes her off and goes outside where Arjun is ordering food. As they wait, they see a gang of rustic men round up the girl and a boy, beat them savagely and drag them to a Scorpio Car. Arjun intervenes but Satbir (Darshan Kumar), one of the gangs, hits him and snarls to back off, the girl being his own sister. As the horrified couple watch, the gang drives off. Despite Meera's pleading, Arjun reaches for their gun, which Meera has put in the luggage, and drives after the gang. Meera begs Arjun to leave the matter alone but suggests scaring them away using the gun. He stops the car near the gang's vehicle on a seemingly obscure desert near highway and tells her to lock the doors and wait while he goes to frighten the villagers. Meera waits until a mentally challenged rustic, Chotte, shows up and wants to drive the car. She asks if he knows where Arjun is and panics when he makes the sign for a gun. Arjun meanwhile witnesses a brutal 'honor' killing with the young boy beaten to death and the girl Pinky poisoned by her brother, Satbir. Terrified Arjun attempts to flee. Just then, Meera is coming up the path, looking for him. He meets her and tells her they have to get out of there. They are stopped by Chotte, and during the commotion the gang finds them and knocks Arjun out with a rod. When he comes round, Satbir is checking their pictures on Meera's phone. As the gang digs graves, Satbir shoots a barely alive Pinky dead using their gun. Meanwhile, the couple notice Chotte has their gun on him. They call him to their side quietly and offer him their car keys in exchange for the gun. But a fight ensues and by mistake, Arjun shoots Chotte. The gang is enraged, and the couple literally run for their lives. At night, the couple suddenly face one of the gang members. In the ensuing struggle, Meera shoots him dead, but he manages to stab Arjun in his leg. The couple limp off, but the remaining gang members spread out looking for them. Meera and Arjun make it to a railway under-bridge where Meera tells injured Arjun to wait till she gets help. Running for miles, she finally finds a police station where a cop is fast asleep. She makes him get up and tells her to help as they have witnessed an honor killing - at the mention of that, the cop refuses to help her and cuts the phone line on which she's talking to his senior officer. The cop throws Meera out of the police station, and she steals his cycle to get back to Arjun. On the way, the senior police officer meets her in his van and starts driving back to where Arjun is. He asks Meera her caste and figures out that hers is an inter-caste marriage. He tells her democracy ends at the last mall and breaking caste rules is totally forbidden in the village, just as with the case she's witnessed. Meera realizes the cop is in league with her attackers - and they are in the jeep just behind her. Struggling with the cop, she manages to stab him with a pen and pushes him out of the jeep. She drives off with the gang chasing her. Just as their car gets stuck in mud, Meera's jeep flips over by a collision. She crawls out and reaches a stone quarry. The gang arrives and can't see her until one of them, Mamaji, sees her climbing the rock face. They throw stones to make her fall, but she climbs up and throws stones and hurls abuses back at them. As they get back into their car, Meera stumbles off and finds a migrant laborer's hut on the site. The laborer and his wife protect her when one of the gang arrives, asking if a woman came by. Later, the man says they are outsiders but suggests she go to the village Sarpanch for help. Meera reaches the village which is deserted as everyone is at a Nautanki. Outside the Nautanki, she meets two children, and one agrees to take her to the Sarpanch - his own grandmother - if she gives him her watch. Ammaji (Deepti Naval) and her Bahu are packing a girl's clothes in a suitcase and cleaning out her cupboard when Meera arrives. She is exhausted and starts telling her story. Ammaji changes the moment she hears of the honor killing and a puzzled Meera looks around to see pillow covers saying 'Pinky'. Amma locks her in the room and the petrified Bahu says this is Pinky's house and she's been punished for trying to escape. Amma calls her gang back and tells them to silence Meera. They drag her out and beat her in the courtyard, but Meera takes the boy as hostage, and manages to secure keys of their car and lock them inside their home with some help from daughter-in-law. She escapes the village and finds her yellow sweatshirt on the rear seat of their car, which was supposed to be with Arjun. She rushes to the under-bridge where Arjun is - to find he's been murdered, and the gang scribbled abuses against her on the walls. Meera shrieks in grief and rage and returns to the village where she drives the jeep ruthlessly into two gang members, killing them. She then waits with a rod in her hand till Satbir and Mamaji come driving on a bike, hits them, killing Mamaji on the spot and breaking Satbir's leg. He manages to drag himself up to a short distance while she has a cigarette and watches him. But as he gets up, Meera hits him, killing him - and then stabs him over and over again with the rod. Ammaji arrives and gasps, seeing the men dead. She says Pinky was her own daughter but broke rules and needed to be punished. Meera echoes her words and leaves the village as dawn breaks.

Rani is devastated when her fiance leaves her days before the wedding. Undeterred, she goes on her honeymoon alone and is pulled out of her comfort zone, rediscovering herself.

Years later, Gungun has grown up, attends school, and believes that Indraneel is her dad. Then their world is changed upside down when Maya's dad, Dayanath Trivedi, arrives from London, Britain, to take custody of his grandchild, if necessary through the courts. Indraneel refuses to part with Gungun, and as a result a case is filed in Court. The Judge initially hears this case, finds Indraneel incompetent to be a responsible father and tentatively puts Gungun in the Court's custody. A struggling actress and her divorcee roommate attempt to blackmail a notorious thief they accidentally overhear confessing a robbery to his girlfriend. Their attempts at extortion begin to unravel when the robbers refuse to play along. After a chance encounter at a club the struggling actress Baby decides to move in with Maria, a withdrawn divorcee who is having financial troubles and run-ins with the maffia. By accident the two women overhear a conversation in which a man confesses committing a robbery to his girlfriend. The two women decide to blackmail him for a piece of the action. Unfortunately the robbers have no intention of just rolling over... —Ace_of_Hearts Baby, a fast-talking con-woman meets with divorcee, Maria Rozario, and both become friends. Baby finds out that Maria and her brother Johnny are having problems dealing with rent, and debts. So she decides that they should rob a bank, which is unacceptable to Maria. They overhear a conversation about a robbery, and find out who the thief is, and decide to blackmail him. Indian Army Major Ranvir Kaul (Amitabh Bachchan) and some 30 of his colleagues were captured in Pakistan and held under brutal conditions for 33 years. The jail is headed by Maj Qureshi (Piyush Mishra), who does not like the brutal torture of the prisoners. Kaul attempts another escape (he steals a lighter from his torturer and uses that to light his guard's face on fire, when he was being transported between prisons) but is caught, beaten, berated and thrown back in prison. Eijaz (Aditya Srivastava) is the ISI officer in charge of torturing them. During the fracas one of his men does flee and through a sympathetic friend, Jabbar (Akhilendra Mishra), sends a letter home. Kaul's wife (Tanuja) and son Gaurav (Akshaye Khanna) petition the Indian Army but the General, though sympathetic, has his hands tied. He raises the subject and Pakistan will deny it and immediately the men will be shot; he cannot authorize Army action absent hard evidence (not just a letter); there are no other options. Kaul's son, Gaurav, sets off to find his father. he is not sure if Ranvir is still alive, but his mother is resolute in her conviction. Other prisoners include Naru (Ashraful Haque), Anand (Rajendra Gupta), Nayyar (Kamlesh Sawant) & others. Gaurav smuggles himself into Pakistan (By getting captured as a Pakistani dead person and is thrown across the border by BSF in a body exchange) (Gaurav travels by train but is recognized by a policeman from the India matchbox he carries. Gaurav manages to kill the policeman and continue ahead) and meets Jabbar and discovers (he captures an interrogates a guard from the first jail) that his father has been transferred to a different prison camp (Since the original prison was being inspected by the Human right commission), Saran Jail under the cunning and sadistic Sohail (Kay Kay Menon). Sohail hangs one prisoner who had tried to escape during the transfer process, on the day of their arrival at his jail. Radhika (Amrita Rao) is Jabbar's daughter and falls in love with Gaurav. Kaul meets another set of captured Indian POWs (Capt. Ajit Verma (Nishikant Dixit)) at this new prison. Kaul attempts another escape. One man sacrifices himself on the electric fence (Actually Ranvir had got the short stick, but his junior sacrificed himself to save Ranvir) as others go through. Sohail bemusedly sighs as the others, once past the fence, are blown up by the landmines (10 soldiers die in the attempt). Kaul and the remaining prisoners are again beaten and kicked back into their barracks. One of the prisoners, Khan (Sanjay Dutt), manages to evade the landmines (by jumping over the dead bodies) and escapes. Gaurav meets him accidentally, while Khan was being pursued by trained dogs and Pakistani military police and brings him to safety. Gaurav attacks a military courier and, using his uniforms, infiltrates a Pakistan Army office block. Gaurav is caught by Eijaz, but Khan had followed Gaurav and saves his life. He steals a set of plans which reveal a water main under the prison. His father and the men can dig their way to this main and crawl out. With great reluctance Khan gets arrested again and tells Gaurav that the escape will happen in 10 days. Sohail correctly guesses that Khan is back for a reason. Khan discloses to Kaul that his son is here; this news, and the water main, is a great inspiration for the men. The men quietly begin digging a tunnel to the water main. They discover the body of an Indian Army Captain Jatin (Raj Zutshi) in the debris under the prison, but this Jatin is among them! Khan and Kaul realize that he is in fact a Pakistani spy. Gaurav and Khan had planned the escape for the night of the tenth and Jatin, the spy, had dutifully reported this back to Sohail. Kaul and Khan decide that the escape will happen on the ninth. Jatin is not told of this, but the men manage to send a coded message to Gaurav. The following day Khan notices the number 9 scrawled on an army supply truck entering the prison: it is Gaurav's reply. He will await the men near the water main outlet on the ninth. On the night of the escape the men overpower the guards (Ranvir stays out of the barracks as the men sneak in a dummy to maintain the head count. Then the major attacks the guards at night to steal the keys and rescues the men from their cabin) and kill Jatin. They enter the water main and begin digging away the last few meters of remaining debris. The knocking in the pipes travels up to Sohail's kitchen sink; Sohail quickly discovers the escape and hotly pursues the men down the pipe. Gaurav digs from the other side and, just in the nick of time, the debris is cleared, and father and son are reunited. The men make it through. One of them (Jatta (Raghuvir Yadav)) sacrifices himself on a land mine inside the water main which caves in and blocks Sohail. Rajan (Arif Zakaria) also stays back at the camp to fire at the Pakistani and prevent them from pursuing his comrades. Gaurav leads his father and the men to a railway line, but the train is delayed till morning. The men split up to avoid detection and arrange to meet at dawn near a border point village. They arrive at the border point, but Sohail and his men are in close pursuit. There is a firefight. Khan puts up a brave fight but is shot down. Ranvir Kaul and Gaurav and the handful of remaining prisoners finally get across the border in a Pakistan army truck. Sohail is right behind them, but his jeep is disarmed and he is surrounded by Kaul and the prisoners. Kaul points to the border line behind them; they are now on Indian soil. Kaul, now an Indian Army soldier, attacks and kills Sohail in hand-to-hand combat, and throws his body across the border. The film ends as Ranvir Kaul and his men are reinstated in the Indian Army and salute the Indian tricolor.

Rajbir "Radhe" Mohan (Salman Khan) is a jobless rowdy, surrounded by a rough circle including Kanak (Darshan Kumar), Aslam (Sarfaraz Khan) and Chander (Gopal Dutt). He lives with his brother Ajay (Sachin Khedekar), his sister-in-law (Savita Prabhune), and their child. Radhe's brother is a decent, family man. Radhe used to study at the local City college, but still controls the entire student politics by ensuring that his candidates win in the student body elections. Radhe is a violent man, but often performs apparently good deeds, such as beating up sexual harassers. Radhe is liked by the studious types in college as he keeps the criminal elements out of student politics and provides a safe environment within college premises. Ajay does not like how Radhe resorts to violence on behalf of other students at the college. Ajay wants Radhe to find a job and move on with his life. Nirjara is a new student at the college who is attending classes from out of town. She comes to college daily by train. She has a single friend Indu (Indu Verma). Radhe meets Nirjara during her ragging session, which he conducts for all newcomers. Nirjara likes peacock feathers. Radhe also supports a mentally unstable beggar (Radhika Chaudhary). A local rival goon insults the beggar by dropping her skirt and embarrassing her publicly. Radhe takes offense at this and beats the rival goon mercilessly. Nirjara sees Radhe's violent side during this fight and is scared. Radhe falls in love with Nirjara Bhardwaj (Bhumika Chawla), a BA student at his former college and the daughter of a poor temple priest (Saurabh Dubey). Radhe comes across Nirjara across many different social situations, and even at her father's temple. Radhe likes her innocent demeanor & helps her a few times (he stops the catcalls during Nirjara's poem recitation at college annual fest, gets her an exam admit card when she loses it), and she seems to like him. One day, Radhe proposes to her and jokingly remarks that he would beat up her father if he doesn't agree to their marriage. Nirjara is too shocked to say much (and doesn't hear pretty much anything else that Radhe says to her including the actual proposal for marriage) and utters "Yes" when Radhe asks her if she was listening to him. Radhe interprets this as her acceptance of the proposal. Later, he and his friends intimidate Nirjara's fiance Rameshwar (Ravi Kishan) who is a junior priest at the temple and a very docile person. Rameshwar was dropping Nirjara to college on his moped when he was spotted by Radhe. Radhe tells Rameshwar that he is going to marry Nirjara and warns him to stay away from her. The next day, Radhe brings Nirjara a gift, but she tells him that she does not love him and calls him a goon and yells at him publicly. A heartbroken Radhe subsequently tries to talk to her, but she refuses to engage in a conversation. Nirjara has a sister Mamta (Indira Krishnan), whose husband Atmaram (Dinesh Kaushik) is demanding Rs 2 Lakhs from her & her dad for her to be with her son Rahul. Since Mamta or her father don't have that kind of money, Mamata is thrown out of the house and is living with Nirjara and her father. Atmaram used to ask for Rs 20-30K, but now his demands have become more and more outrageous. Mamta tries for a bank loan but has no physical assets for a guarantee. Radhe's friends suggest that he give up rowdyism and violence to impress Nirjara. Radhe tries to control his violence whenever he is in front of Nirjara. Aslam admonishes Radhe when he fails to defend his own friend Chander in front of a rival goon, because Nirjara was there. This leads to a fight between Aslam and Radhe and cause a friction in their friendship. Later, Radhe apologizes to Aslam and Chander. One day, Radhe roughs up a brothel owner who has opened up a brothel in the middle of a Brahmin society and is polluting the social atmosphere. Nirjara's elder sister Mamta, who is in need of money, is nearly tricked into prostitution, when she visits the brothel to meet a man who promises her a loan. Radhe, who does not know that she is Nirjara's sister, visits the same brothel to find a brothel customer who was harassing random women outside the brothel. He saves Mamta from being arrested during a police raid. She tells him that her husband Aatmaram has evicted her and is demanding money to give her the custody of their son. The next day, Radhe beats up Aatmaram, forcing him to take her back and to stop harassing her. Rameshwar sees this and tells Nirjara that Radhe is a good, selfless man, who truly loves her. Unaware of this conversation, Radhe abducts Nirjara so that she would listen to him express his feelings for her. Nirjara initially feels intimidated, but ultimately falls in love with him. Subsequently, the brothel owner (Mahendra Verma) and his goons attack Radhe to take revenge on him for trying to shut down their business. Radhe suffers from brain damage during the attack and loses his mental balance. His family admits him to a religious institution for mental patients, as Nirjara and his friends pray for him. At one point, Radhe's mental state returns to normal, but the wardens do not understand this and beat him up. Nirjara visits the institution and sees him in a pitiful condition while he is sleeping. Convinced that Radhe is not going to get well, Radhe's brother asks Nirjara to forget him and marry Rameshwar. On the day of Nirjara's wedding with Rameshwar, Radhe escapes from the institution, and arrives at her home, only to find that she has committed suicide. Radhe then allows himself to be taken back to the institution despite his family and friends trying to persuade him otherwise. The epilogue shows Radhe, now old and still in the institution, tying peacock feathers in Nirjara's memory.

Nayak: The Real Hero is an action film which portrays the fight against corruption. The film is about a news reporter who arranges an interview with a corrupt minister, just to expose him on his channel. But, the film takes a turn when the minister askes him to run the state for one day. The story showcases how the reporter runs the state and makes some changes which has a positive impact on the people.

A diligent police inspector, Samar is transferred to a town swarming with moral decay. As he straightens things up, a corrupt politician becomes a threat to him and his family.

Satya, an ordinary man from Mumbai, finds himself entangled in the relentless grip of corruption and the underworld. Despite his efforts to break free, he struggles to escape its clutches.
