Both over the age of 60, Chandro Tomar (Bhumi Pednekar) and Prakashi Tomar (Taapsee Pannu) inspire other women in India when they demonstrate their expert sharpshooting skills. Rambir Tomar (Shaad Randhawa) is husband of Prakashi, Bhanwan Singh Tomar (Kuldeep Sareen) is Chandro's husband and Rattan Singh Tomar (Prakash Jha) is Rambir and Bhanwan's elder brother. It is 1999, and the Tomar family lives in the Bagphat village of Uttar Pradesh. Prakashi met Chandro in 1958 when Prakashi wed into the Tomar family. From the beginning Chandro went out of her way to make Prakashi comfortable. There is only one room in the house, so the ladies decide a rotating system to occupy the room, so their respective husbands can have sex with them. Since women have to wear a cloth over their faces, they decide on colors that each one with wear, so their husbands can recognize them without seeing their faces. Soon both have many kids and get bound by the duties of a woman in a deeply patriarchal society. So much so, that they always had to keep their faces covered, even while watching movies. Rattan is the undisputed leader of the village and dictates what is acceptable and what is not. In addition to bringing up their kids, the women work in a brick kiln to earn money. Soon Prakashi and Chandro become grandmothers and Shefali (Sara Arjun) is born. In 1985, Prakashi wants to open up a sewing shop (from a machine that was gifted to them at a wedding), but Rattan objects. In anger Prakashi, supported by Chandro, sews clothes for the entire Tomar clan. 15 years pass. In 1999, Prakashi sews a pant for Shefali as she grows up. When Rattan finds out, he destroys the sewing machine in rage. Rattan says that wearing modern clothes can expose Shefali to the evil eye of boys and endanger her safety and well-being. Rattan sets fire to the pant and warns Rambir and Bhanwan to keep his women in check. Dr. Yashpal (Vineet Kumar Singh) is a family friend. he opens up a shooting range in the village as he feels there is a lot of shooting talent in the village. Rattan allows his grandsons to train, but not his granddaughters. But the boys are not interested in shooting at card-boards. Chandro takes Shefali to the range for training, and suddenly Yashpal figures out that Chandro is a natural shooter herself. Yashpal agrees to train Shefali, but only if Chandro also trains with her. One day Chandro is almost caught by Rattan at the range. She escapes narrowly and Prakashi comes to know. Shefali encourages Prakashi to train with Chandro. Prakashi takes her daughter Seema (Pritha Bakshi) for training as well as she turns out to be a natural as well. The 4 ladies start training together under Yashpal. Yashpal encourages Chandro and Prakashi to participate in a senior's tournament so that the girls Shefali and Seema get courage to defy their grandfathers. Prakashi and Chandro play a prank to get the males to allow then to travel to Chandigarh. Prakashi says that the goddess told her in dream that Rambir will die unless she visits a temple and that the men of the house cannot come. Rattan has no option but to allow this. But Rattan also orders that since the men cannot come, the ladies will travel with grandson Sachin. Once in Chandigarh, Dr Yashpal arranges his assistant Farooq (Navneet Srivastava) to take Sachin out for movies to keep him distracted, so Chandro and Prakashi can compete freely. In Chandigarh, the shooters laugh at Chandro and Prakashi who are in their village clothes. Yashraj still encourages them to compete, and they win the tournament. Prakashi wins and Chandro is second. At the national shooting competition for seniors, Tomar grandmothers meet Maharani Mahedra Kumari (Nikhat Khan) who is also a shooter. This time Chandro wins, and Prakashi is second. They win consistently for the next 2 years. But when Shefali and Seema compete, they lose. So, the Tomar grandmothers start training them with renewed vigor. Slowly they start winning as well. One evening Maharani invites the 4 ladies and Yashraj to her Alwar palace as she has been selected as the President of Rajasthan Shooting Association. Chandro and Prakashi keep making a fool of Sachin Tomar (Himanshu Sharma), who is also a grandson and was assigned by Rattan to keep an eye on Chandro and Prakashi as they wander out of the house. Yashraj informs the grandmothers that Shefali and Seema have been selected for a national camp for which they need to go to Delhi for 45 days. The grandmothers now reveal the truth to Rattan, who spits on them and burns down Yashraj's training academy. Jai Singh (Pawan Chopra) is Rambir's son and an army officer. He challenges Rattan on his outdated views. He calls the Panchayat, where Rattan is the Sarpanch. During the public hearing Prakashi speaks up against male patriarchy in the village and stands up to both Rattan and her husband. when they step ahead to slap her, she threatens to shoot them down. Rambir & Bhanwan agree for Shefali and Seema to go to the national camp, but bound Chandro and Prakashi to the house. Maharani Mahedra Kumari funds a properly Pukka shooting range for Yashraj and he invites the entire Tomar family for its inauguration with Rattan as chief guest. Chandro and Prakashi participate in the competition in front of Rattan. Just then Chandro finds that Shefali didn't make it to nationals. Her concentration is lost, and she shoots badly. Prakashi is doing very well, but she doesn't want to win alone and so sacrifices her win by botching the last shot. When Rattan celebrates their loss, his wife screams at him and his hypocrisy. A few months later Seema wins the competition in London. Rattan welcomes her back to his house. Seema dedicates the medal to Chandro and tells her mom all the wonderful things she saw in the outside world. Prakashi and Chandro feel as if they lived their lives.

Mohandas presents us with an unsparing vision of Mumbai as a place of decadence and ruthlessness, while ensuring that, with enough love, tenacity, and courage, any place could be called home.

Rumi (Taapsee Pannu) a free-spirited, vivacious young woman and Vicky (Vicky Kaushal), a young man waiting for his music break are in love and they can't stay out of the bedroom. They both live in Amritsar, and Vicky visits Rumi at early hours of the morning, or late at night to have sex with her in her room, by leaping across neighborhood terraces. When they're caught red-handed by Rumi's family, pressure builds up to get married. Rumi is an orphan, but lives in a house with her grandfather (Arun Bali) and Chacha (Akshay Arora), Chachi (Vishavpreet Kaur) and Rumi's cousin Kiran (Ashnoor Kaur) and Babloo (Rupinderjit Singh). Rumi's family run a sports equipment shop, and Rumi herself had the potential to be a national level hockey player. But she gave up the sport presumably because it reminded her of her father too much. Despite being caught, both Rumi and Vicky are insatiable and continue to meet in her room, till they are caught again. The family gives Rumi 2 days to produce Vicky with his parents to ask for her hand in marriage. But Vicky has cold feet and keeps avoiding Rumi's request to bring his parents over and ask her hand in marriage. Vicky argues that he needs more time as he has just started his DJ career and needs to focus on the same. Eventually, Rumi gives up on him and agrees to an arranged marriage via matchmaker Kakaji (Saurabh Sachdeva). That's when Rajbir Robbie Bhatia (Abhishek Bachchan), a banker, enters the love triangle. Robbie is a banker and lives in London. He has come to India to get married. In India, he lives with his father (Swairaj Sandhu), mother (Neelu Kohli) and brother (Vikram Kochhar). Robbie sees Rumi's photo and wants to meet her for a possible wedding. His other option is Lovely Singh (Sukhmani Sadana) who is a dentist and a very homely girl. But Robbie is now besotted with Rumi. Even Robbie's father says that Rumi will be roller coaster ride, but Robbie does not want to play safe in life. Kakaji knows that Rumi's affair with Vicky is not hidden from anyone. He visits Rumi's grandfather, who says that the affair is over and that he trusts Rumi not to dishonor the family. Rumi decides to elope with Vicky and leaves with him early in the morning before anyone wakes up. She realizes that while Vicky is there for her but has not thought anything for their future. Vicky had no money, no idea where they were going, and has no clue what they will be doing next. Vicky didn't even know if they were headed to Delhi or Shimla. As such they have no option but to go back. Vicky admits that he is not responsible and hence he also shies away from marrying Rumi, but he also says that he is the only one who can satisfy her sexually. They are both equally passionate about sex. Again, Vicky decides to bring his parents over to ask for Rumi's hand in marriage. Rumi's family have to say no to Robbie's family (who were about to come to meet Rumi later the same day), in a huge embarrassment. But then again, Vicky fails to show up at the last moment and this time Rumi says yes to Robbie. The families meet. Robbie goes to a bar that night, where Vicky confronts him, that Rumi is his. Robbie knows that Vicky was Rumi's boyfriend but won't ask her about it. Vicky, meanwhile, gets drunk and threatens Kakaji at his home that Rumi will never marry anyone else. When Rumi finds out, she visits Vicky's house and narrates the whole situation to Vicky's parents. She says that she offered to get engaged and Vicky refused, and now he won't let her get married to anyone else. Vicky's parents also agree with Rumi. On Mehndi night, Vicky again comes by to meet Rumi to stop her decision to marry Robbie. Rumi comes out and insults Vicky but knows that Vicky is right, and she won't be happy with Robbie. The night before the wedding Rumi goes to meet Robbie and tells him that she is not prepared to get married. Vicky's parents now talk to him to stop meddling with Rumi's life as they know Vicky has never fixated on a goal in life. He wants things to be served to him on a platter and has never worked hard for anything in his life. He just wants the trophy without the sweat and blood. Vicky understands their point and steps back from Robbie and Rumi, who get married. Rumi is on her honeymoon with Robbie in Manali. Rumi consummates her marriage with Robbie on her second night, when she sees that Robbie is not forcing himself upon her. She messages Vicky, who doesn't message her back. Vicky eventually responds with a video of him being in bed with his latest conquest. Rumi returns from her honeymoon early and goes to Vicky and threatens him to stay away as he had his chance, and he blew it. Meanwhile Robbie starts bonding with Rumi. Vicky approaches Rumi in front of Robbie and asks for her back. Rumi is angry at Vicky and goes to him but ends up having sex with him after seeing his passion for her. Rumi is ashamed of herself for cheating on Robbie. Even then she finds Robbie supportive and willing to wait for her love. One day Robbie follows Rumi and finds that she has been having sex with Vicky behind his back. he is heartbroken. When Rumi comes back home, Robbie confronts her and asks her to make a choice. The next day Robbie decides to divorce Rumi. Vicky swoops in with a marriage proposal of his own, but this time Rumi realizes her mistake that Robbie was the right guy for her. She tells Vicky to make a career for himself and tells him that he will always be her first love. This allows Vicky to let go of her Rumi. Rumi then goes to divorce court and tries very hard to turn things around with Robbie. She finally succeeds when Robbie invites her to breakfast at the remaining nights of their honeymoon in Manali.

NH10 is a thriller directed by Navdeep Singh, who previously directed the highly acclaimed Manorama Six Feet Under. A couple`s road trip goes awry but the woman, stacked against all odds, manages to not just stick it out but indeed give it back. Meera and Arjun are professionals living in Gurgaon. When Meera walks out of a party late one night, she gets attacked by a group of unknown men. Although she escapes through the skin of her teeth, it leaves her traumatised. Arjun, partly blaming himself for not being there that night, tries to make up for it by treating her to a luxurious desert holiday. As they stop on a Highway dhaba for dinner, they witness a young girl being picked up by a bunch of hoodlums. Arjun chooses to step in, unmindful of the danger ahead.

Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Neil Bhoopalam) are a happy yuppie couple living in Gurgaon. They're going to a friend's party and making loving banter in their car. At the party, Meera gets an urgent work call and has to rush to office. She is attacked by some street punks who smash her Car's window. Meera manages to escape but is mentally shocked by the incident. The local cop suggests to the couple they get a gun which they do, using their police contacts. Meera's birthday is coming up and Arjun suggests a road trip. Meera completes a business presentation, and the couple head out, Arjun presenting Meera with cigarettes as a birthday gift before the actual birthday. They learn from a toll attendant that previous night an attendant was murdered at the same toll, which makes Arjun wonder whether they should continue or not. They stop at a roadside Dhaba for lunch where Meera has a smoke in the ladies' washroom. A petrified young girl, who had banged into their car earlier, arrives and pleads for help, saying few men outside are about to kill her. Meera shakes her off and goes outside where Arjun is ordering food. As they wait, they see a gang of rustic men round up the girl and a boy, beat them savagely and drag them to a Scorpio Car. Arjun intervenes but Satbir (Darshan Kumar), one of the gangs, hits him and snarls to back off, the girl being his own sister. As the horrified couple watch, the gang drives off. Despite Meera's pleading, Arjun reaches for their gun, which Meera has put in the luggage, and drives after the gang. Meera begs Arjun to leave the matter alone but suggests scaring them away using the gun. He stops the car near the gang's vehicle on a seemingly obscure desert near highway and tells her to lock the doors and wait while he goes to frighten the villagers. Meera waits until a mentally challenged rustic, Chotte, shows up and wants to drive the car. She asks if he knows where Arjun is and panics when he makes the sign for a gun. Arjun meanwhile witnesses a brutal 'honor' killing with the young boy beaten to death and the girl Pinky poisoned by her brother, Satbir. Terrified Arjun attempts to flee. Just then, Meera is coming up the path, looking for him. He meets her and tells her they have to get out of there. They are stopped by Chotte, and during the commotion the gang finds them and knocks Arjun out with a rod. When he comes round, Satbir is checking their pictures on Meera's phone. As the gang digs graves, Satbir shoots a barely alive Pinky dead using their gun. Meanwhile, the couple notice Chotte has their gun on him. They call him to their side quietly and offer him their car keys in exchange for the gun. But a fight ensues and by mistake, Arjun shoots Chotte. The gang is enraged, and the couple literally run for their lives. At night, the couple suddenly face one of the gang members. In the ensuing struggle, Meera shoots him dead, but he manages to stab Arjun in his leg. The couple limp off, but the remaining gang members spread out looking for them. Meera and Arjun make it to a railway under-bridge where Meera tells injured Arjun to wait till she gets help. Running for miles, she finally finds a police station where a cop is fast asleep. She makes him get up and tells her to help as they have witnessed an honor killing - at the mention of that, the cop refuses to help her and cuts the phone line on which she's talking to his senior officer. The cop throws Meera out of the police station, and she steals his cycle to get back to Arjun. On the way, the senior police officer meets her in his van and starts driving back to where Arjun is. He asks Meera her caste and figures out that hers is an inter-caste marriage. He tells her democracy ends at the last mall and breaking caste rules is totally forbidden in the village, just as with the case she's witnessed. Meera realizes the cop is in league with her attackers - and they are in the jeep just behind her. Struggling with the cop, she manages to stab him with a pen and pushes him out of the jeep. She drives off with the gang chasing her. Just as their car gets stuck in mud, Meera's jeep flips over by a collision. She crawls out and reaches a stone quarry. The gang arrives and can't see her until one of them, Mamaji, sees her climbing the rock face. They throw stones to make her fall, but she climbs up and throws stones and hurls abuses back at them. As they get back into their car, Meera stumbles off and finds a migrant laborer's hut on the site. The laborer and his wife protect her when one of the gang arrives, asking if a woman came by. Later, the man says they are outsiders but suggests she go to the village Sarpanch for help. Meera reaches the village which is deserted as everyone is at a Nautanki. Outside the Nautanki, she meets two children, and one agrees to take her to the Sarpanch - his own grandmother - if she gives him her watch. Ammaji (Deepti Naval) and her Bahu are packing a girl's clothes in a suitcase and cleaning out her cupboard when Meera arrives. She is exhausted and starts telling her story. Ammaji changes the moment she hears of the honor killing and a puzzled Meera looks around to see pillow covers saying 'Pinky'. Amma locks her in the room and the petrified Bahu says this is Pinky's house and she's been punished for trying to escape. Amma calls her gang back and tells them to silence Meera. They drag her out and beat her in the courtyard, but Meera takes the boy as hostage, and manages to secure keys of their car and lock them inside their home with some help from daughter-in-law. She escapes the village and finds her yellow sweatshirt on the rear seat of their car, which was supposed to be with Arjun. She rushes to the under-bridge where Arjun is - to find he's been murdered, and the gang scribbled abuses against her on the walls. Meera shrieks in grief and rage and returns to the village where she drives the jeep ruthlessly into two gang members, killing them. She then waits with a rod in her hand till Satbir and Mamaji come driving on a bike, hits them, killing Mamaji on the spot and breaking Satbir's leg. He manages to drag himself up to a short distance while she has a cigarette and watches him. But as he gets up, Meera hits him, killing him - and then stabs him over and over again with the rod. Ammaji arrives and gasps, seeing the men dead. She says Pinky was her own daughter but broke rules and needed to be punished. Meera echoes her words and leaves the village as dawn breaks.

K is addicted to smoking and is just not ready to give up the habit. But when his wife, Anjali, walks out on him, he makes an effort to meet Baba Bengali. This mysterious character runs a centre for rehab from all sorts of addictions. K and Baba make an agreement. Only, K cannot break the agreement once its been decided on. A desperate K throws caution to the winds and tries smoking in his car. But the moment he lights a cigarette, the car blows up, with him in it. He understands that he cannot escape the Baba till he fulfils his side of the agreement. What happens now? Does K ever quit smoking? Does Anjali get back to him? What`s the contract all about?

A tale of two different musicians, dramatically different but united in their passion for music, set against the backdrop of the international music industry. However, if prodigious talent, passion, and attitude are considered synonymous with the music industry, then Reggi fits the bill. Young and hugely talented, he craves A.J.'s spot at the top. Into these lives enter two women: aspiring singer Ruhi and ambitious P.R. professional Sheena. Ruhi has much professional respect for A.J., but she has been wooed and won over by Reggi. Sheena, on the other hand, holds a grudge against Reggi because, while she did a lot for him as a PR, he had rejected her in a personal relationship. As A.J. and Reggi face off against each in a do-or-die battle, envy and betrayal rear their ugly heads, and talent struggles to survive the onslaught of a carefully-orchestrated smear campaign. —Q. AJ (Bobby Deol) plays a ruthless guy with a manipulative frame of mind; he has gotten where he is through sheer dint of hard slog. He's used to winning; he revels in it and will never let anybody overtake him. Reggi (Upen Patel) is a talented up-and-coming singer who is struggling hard to get noticed. Young and hugely talented, he hungers for what AJ has, he craves to be where AJ is. Ruhi (Kangana Ranaut) is an aspiring singer who looks up to AJ but has fallen head-over-heels for Reggi. Sheena (Celina Jaitley) is a gorgeous, ambitious PR professional who goes all out to promote Reggi. There is a lot of drama in this part of the flick as the story involves a lot of emotions all mixed into one musical drama: Shakalaka Boom Boom.
