While Pooran who is good-hearted puts in use his heritage to help people, Kaala looks out for his interest in money. Parmar, an erstwhile Casanova and a colorful character who is also a sharp and intelligent lawyer of repute, is the paying guest in the brothers` house. He is a thorn in Kaala`s side, as he is paying the same rent for 35 years, that is of 125 rupees. Adding to the Punjabi mix, Chikoo is a pretty Gujarati girl, who steals Kaala`s heart and brings a sinister twist to the tale.

Dharma, a thug, refuses drug dealers' offer, leading to his sister's assault. Jailed for retaliation, he escapes and commits rape. When drug dealer brothers, Gorakh and Paras, hear about Dharma, they invite him to join them, but Dharma refuses. They decide to teach him a lesson by asking Jaggu to molest his sister, Kamla, which he does, but is severely beaten by Dharma. Kamla is in love with Vijay, and Dharma permits them to get married. Then Dharma is arrested, tried in Court, convicted of assault, and the prosecution main witness is none other than Vijay. An angered Dharma escapes from police custody and brutally rapes Laxmi, Vijay's sister. After the marriage, Vijay is killed at the hands of Jaggu, who is eventually hunted down and killed by Dharma. When Dharma goes to deal with Gorakh and Paras, he is surrounded by the police, arrested, tried in court, and sentenced to prison for life. He aimed an axe at Kalia and wanted to kill him. However. Kalia escaped and managed to catch Arjun. He was taking Arjun away with him but somehow Arjun luckily escapes from his hands. The teacher's wife Durga (Aruna Irani) vows in front of the Statue of Mother Durga at her temple that she may make her children brave as lions so that one day she may come back to the village and take revenge against Thakur and Kalia. Time passed by. Arjun aIways was in great grief owing to his separation from his sister-in-law who was just like his mother and her children. After a long time Durga came back to the village with his grown-up children. Munimji's daughter, Radha (Sonam) falls in love with Vijay, Durga's son (Chunky Pandey). The unjust ways of Thakur went on increasing day by day. Thakur tried to molest the Pujari's daughter but Arjun foils his bid and he kills him. To take the revenge against the death of Thakur, Kalia comes to the village. Arjun and the entire village face Kalia, but Kalia succeeded in imprisoning Durga, Vicky, Vijay and Vishal make a deadly effort to release their mother, Durga. But against such great odds of the dacoits they became helpless and the dacoits caught them and tied them up along with their mother. Dacoit Kalia does not want to kill them by shooting at them. Instead he plans to give them all a very painful and agonizing death. How Arjun with his two hundred horses reaches Kalia's den ? How he saves them from the frightening den of Kalia and finishes Kalia...... this can be seen on the silver-screen.

In his attempt to curb criminal activities in his area; an honest police inspector Ravi Kapoor gets into the bad books of two wrong-doers: one is an alcoholic named Sonu who run a seedy joint and the other is a hardcore criminal by the name of Chandidas Khurana. Ravi manages to convince Sonu to give up his present way of life in which he agrees and together they manage to trap Chandidas and his brother Shakti Khurana alias Chotu. The case is tried in a court of law with both proving guilty and is granted 7 years imprisonment. Then all is settled for Ravi and Sonu and they get married to two young ladies, Ravi to Geeta and Sonu to Radha; soon both are proud parents to boy child. Years passed by and then Chandidas and Shakti jail term comes to an end when they kidnapped the children of Ravi and Sonu. Sonu child gets killed and his wife Radha dies of shock. Together they trap Chandidas Khurana, his brother Chotu (Shakti Kapoor) with evidence, and both get long jail terms. Both Ravi and Sonu get married to their respective sweethearts, Geeta (Madhvi), and Radha (Anita Raaj), and subsequently raise their families. Several years later Chandidas Khurana and his brother finish their jail sentences and kidnap the children of Ravi and Sonu. Sonu's son is killed, and his wife too dies of shock. Inspector Ajay lives with his widowed mother in a city in India. He has been assigned the task of bringing in notorious bandit and gangster named Cobra, who has been terrorizing and killing people all over India. He does succeed in arresting him, and holds him in a cell, only to find out that he is insane, and must be institutionalized. Thereafter, Ajay awaits Cobra's treatment so that he can proceed with his investigation. One day while his mother packs his lunch, he finds out that it was poisoned, it did not affect him, but it kills another colleague. His mother, relieved to find out that Ajay is alright, is more concerned about Cobra, who was also sent some food. Ajay is baffled as to why his mother would feed a senile criminal, and he sets out to find out why. However he is unaware that Sumati is still alive and has given birth to twins Rajesh and Mahesh; while Mahesh was separated at birth and grows up with Inspector Ram Avtar and his wife - Rajesh is taking care of his mother as she loses her mental balance in the trauma. Rajesh and Mahesh do get to unite as the girls they are in love with are link to each other. For this, the owners of the trucking company and others beat him up, eventually killing him. Balwant comes just in time to see his brother's assailants and swears to bring them to justice. However, he himself is held by Inspector Amarnath for the homicide of his brother; his house is burned down by the trucking company owners; his wife is reportedly dead in the fire. Balwant escapes from prison and avenges his brother's death by severely maiming the truck company owners. Balwant continues to avenge the innocent, not through the rules of the corrupt police, lawyers and an equally corrupt judicial system but as a vigilante judge and executioner, calling himself "Teesri Adalat". All his sentences result in death. Years later, Balwant's wife is still alive but the trauma has left her speechless. She had given birth to twins, Mahesh and Rajesh. Mahesh was separated from her in childhood but Raja lives with her. Mahesh is adopted by Inspector Ram Avtar. Raja has a sweetheart in Kavita and Mahesh woos Sunita. Balwant and his family's paths cross when in order to get his adopted father a promotion, Mahesh decides to seek out Balwant and put an end to his "Teesri Adalat". —Soumitra

After the passing of her parents, a young heiress suffers abuse at the hands of her relatives. Deepa lives a poor lifestyle along with her widowed father, and is in love with Dharma. Her father becomes ill, and must re-locate abroad for treatment. A rich male, Singh, offers to marry Deepa and only then will he get her dad the required treatment. Deepa agrees, and a heartbroken Dharma decides to remain single, takes to alcohol and becomes a goon. Deepa gives birth to a daughter, Barkha, but her husband passes away leaving her very wealthy. Her ex-convict brother-in-law, Bhanupratap, demands cash, and she gives him some, but he wants more, and upon being refused - kills her, moves in along with his wife, Shanti; son, Roshan; and daughter, Chandni; on the pretext of looking after Barkha. He hopes to take over the entire estate, but finds his plans foiled when he finds out that Deepa had left a Will which made it mandatory for the entire estate to be transferred to Barkha after she reaches the age of 21. He and his wife abuse Barkha, force her to give up her studies, and make her do all the household work while they continue to collect a princely allowance every month. Years later Barkha has grown up, and after being whipped by her uncle, manages to escape, meets and falls in love with a street-wise male, Suraj. Ironically, Bhanupratap hires Dharma, who locates and takes her back - leaving her no choice but to sign-over the entire estate to her uncle.

Jageera Singh has always lived a life of crime, drinking alcohol, and frequenting brothels, although he is married to pregnant Laxmi and has a son named Vikram. On the day of Laxmi's delivery, Jageera is busy molesting young Paro. Laxmi gives birth to a daughter, Jyoti, who is subsequently abducted. Jageera disappears from Laxmi's life, and she goes to live with a female friend who passes away, leaving Laxmi with the responsibility of also looking after her son, Virendra, aka Veeru. Years later Jageera surfaces and joins forces with smuggler and prominent citizen Bhanupratap. When Police Inspector Vikram's diligence causes problems for Bhanupratap, Jageera offers to kill Vikram, especially when Bhanupratap's niece Priya falls in love and wants to marry Vikram. There are the good guys and the goons. The plot begins with the murder of an union leader, Acharya which leads to a gang whose members are identified by a gold medal with the gang's logo. Enter the head of Secret Services, David, a mysterious figure who weaves a web to bring the gang to book, including the mastermind. Gopal, a young officer is tasked with the job. To support him Dimple (David's niece) alias Shoba plays the girlfriend of Gopal and acts as a communication conduit. When Bindu a nightclub dancer is murdered and Gopal become the prime suspect Gopal joins the gang and earns the trust of the leader. Exploring the netherworld of drugs, stolen antiques, smuggling of gold and silver, creating social and religious tensions he learns the innermost secrets of the gang. Is Gopal a double agent, or has he found the lure of power, money and corruption irresistible? Has he turned triple? Will Shoba play along with Gopal's deceit? While some of the plot transitions leave the viewer baffled and edits incomprehensible, the overall story line is a product of its times, credible and entertaining. —"MG" Gopalan

Rajput began in 1975 as a dream project with all the makings of a blockbuster hit. It had Goldie as the director,LP as music directors; and Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna as the lead actors. Following her phenomenal success in Laila Majnu,the gorgeous Ranjeeta was also roped in. As if that was not enough, they also signed Tina Munim some time in the middle of the project. Unfortunately, the movie took seven years to see the light of the day, and it turned out to be only an average box office earner. There is no satisfactory explanation available as to why it took so long. Maybe there were problems with the dates of the overworked stars. To a viewer, the main problem appears to be the the weak story-line which ,it seems, was revised again and again, and it became weaker with each revision. The characters played by Dharmendra and Hema Malini are deeply in love, and they get physically intimate, but their parents-Om Shivpuri and Rehman- are sworn enemies. The result is that Hema gets married to the character played by Rajesh Khanna, and Dharmendra goes to jail as he kills the dacoit who attacks Hema Malini's Doli. Hema gives birth to Dharmendra's son who is raised by Rajesh Khanna as his own son, even though he knows the truth. Bhanu (Vinod Khanna) is in love with Kamali( Ranjeeta) who gets raped by Ranjeet who plays a tyrant ex ruler. Ranjeet is a widower who has a daughter from his first marriage-played by Tina Munim. Vinod Khanna forces Ranjeet to marry Ranjeeta, and kidnaps the daughter (Tina Munim) to settle the scores. Predictably, the kidnapped daughter falls in love with the kidnapper. In spite of the multi star billing, the bizarre twists to the story lead to the evident asymmetry in the relationships as Hema is the heroine for both Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna; and Vinod Khanna is the hero for both Ranjeeta and Tina Munim. I give full marks to Goldie as he managed to make a watchable movie even though the project dragged for seven years for whatever reasons. Among the actors, Rajesh Khanna has performed the best. Physically, he looks less of a Rajput if you compare him with Dharmendra,Vinod Khanna, and Ranjeet. But his role was meatier, and he did full justice to it as the devoted lover, committed husband, caring and loving foster father, and a brave and intelligent Police Officer. Dharmendra didn't have much scope in the story. Vinod Khanna didn't have too much scope either, but he was the director's darling. Goldie sure gave special importance to his Guru Bhai ( Ref Acharya Rajneesh) ,Vinod Khanna, who gets significant footage particularly during the climax. It should be mentioned that while Goldie and Mahesh Bhatt had deserted Rajneesh, Vinod Khanna was still with the Godman and even went with him to America.He could shoot for the film only when he visited India. The girls were totally ignored except for some scintillating scenes of Hema Malini. Ranjeet was too young to play Tina's father and certainly inadequate to be the main villain. I recall when I first saw this movie, my fellow viewers wondered why Prem Nath was not there in the movie. Certainly a watchable film. The names of the actors should be taken to mean the characters played by them in the film.

After the passing away of his wife, Sudha, widower Rajat Sharma looks after their only child, Munna, as well as his younger college-going brother, Kundan. He works as a Customs Officer at Bombay Airport and is known for his honesty. He meets with an attractive Air India Airhostess, Roopa, and both fall in love with each other. Roopa and Rajat expect to marry soon, and Roopa moves in with them. Munna and Kundan take an instant liking to her and call her "Parirani". Rajat and his boss, Satyam Malhotra, are concerned about the smuggling of diamonds from Singapore, but despite of their best efforts have been unable to apprehend the smugglers. Little do they know that the diamonds are being smuggled by none other than Roopa herself, taking advantage of her friendship with Rajat. And assisting her are Kundan, her Singapore based sister's Seema's husband, Gupta, and a reputed businessman, Dinesh Patel, who claims to be a friend of Rajat. When Rajat finds a diamond in his apartment, he starts to suspect Roopa, when she lands, he searches her and finds diamonds in two dolls. The question remains, what will Rajat do now - turn a nelson's eye or turn in his sweetheart to the authorities - unknowingly opening a Pandora's box that may well result in the arrest of Gupta, Dinesh, and Kundan as well. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

One day, the boys' father witnessed a robbery by Shakaal (Ajit), and his henchmen. To protect their identity, Shakal decided to kill the boys' father before he could go to the police. So one night, Shakaal and his men storm into the boys' father's room and kill both their parents. Shankar and Vijay witness the act and flee. They make their way to a passing train, where Shankar is separated from Vijay. Several years pass and the boys have grown up. Shankar is haunted by the memory of his parents' murder and is now joined by his friend Usman on a crime spree around the city. Vijay was adopted by a fairly wealthy man who is the grounds keeper to the love of his life, Sonita (Zeenat Aman) And Ratan, was raised by the boys' maid, and changed his name to Monto. With his new identity, Monto started a band and does gigs a hotels for a living. Their only hope of reuniting is by remembering the song their mother had taught them... The police eventually apprehend Jack and he is sentenced to jail for over 15 years. Shankar anxiously awaits his return so that he can extract his revenge. Vijay falls in love with wealthy Sunita (Zeenat Aman) and impersonates the rich Kunver Singh in order to meet Sunita's approval. Mr. Verma does not approve of this behavior. Sunita eventually comes to know of Vijay's real identity, and has nothing to do with him. In shame, Vijay relocates to the city where he works as a waiter in a hotel. Ironically, Shankar works for the owner of the hotel Shakhaal (Ajit); while Ratan sings in the same hotel as "Monto". None of the three brothers know of the other. Shankar is obsessed with revenge; Vijay hides in shame; while Ratan sings a song which could unite the three brothers. This was the song the family sang during happier times. But things get worse when Shakhaal finds out that Jack is out of prison, and has him killed. On the other hand Anoop's sister, Rekha (Aruna Irani), and Rajan's brother-in-law Mahesh (Mehmood) have also fallen in love with each other. This angers Rajan even more and he turns Mahesh out of his house. Rajan finds out that Anoop has authored a book called "Naya Zamana", and decides to publish it and sell it under his name. Anoop and Seema find out when the book hits the stalls and is a big hit. Rajan is unapologetic. Rajan then tries to evict the poor people living in small tenements with Anoop and his mother (Lalita Pawar), but Anoop and Seema intervene, and as a result Rajan orders the tenements to be burnt secretly by his henchman Sitaram (Jankidas). Anoop is blamed for the destruction and arrested by the police. Seema's dad, Sachin Choudhury (Ashok Kumar) forbids Seema to see Anoop anymore as well as stay away from the poor people's lives. A father mortgages his home for his son's medical education. After the son succeeds and marries rich, family tensions rise. When the father goes blind, he and his wife face hardship as their elder son grows distant. A family drama with a special focus on two generations of the Chopra family. Dinanath Chopra lives in a small tenement with his wife, and two sons Baldev, and Chandramohan. Dinanath re-finances his house in order to get Baldev to study further and be a doctor, and also gets him married with Rekha who comes from a very wealthy family. Chandramohan studies in college, and has a sweetheart in the form of the gorgeous Asha. Asha lives with her mom, and dad, a sort of quack. Differences in the Baldev emerge and multiply. Baldev and Rekha move to their palatial house. The birth of a baby boy to Rekha does lighten things up a bit, but not for long. Dinanath loses his eyesight in an accident and becomes blind. Chandramohan goes out of town to look for employment, leaving his sick mother and blind father at the mercy of an uncaring daughter-in-law, and eventually the older couple are forced to leave Baldev's house. A platoon of Indian soldiers encounters harsh realities while fighting in the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Set against the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the film's main plot concerns a small platoon of Indian soldiers in the hilly terrain of Ladakh who are considered dead but are rescued by Ladakhi tribesmen and by Capt. Bahadur Singh (Dharmendra). They are asked to retreat from their post (chowky) as the Chinese have surrounded them. Capt. Bahadur Singh and his girlfriend Almo (Priya Rajvansh) die holding the Chinese at Bay so that their comrades can retreat to safety. Ram Singh, Ram Swarup, Major Ranjit Singh, Major Pratap Singh, Captain Bahadur Singh, and his dad Brigadier Singh are amongst the many soldiers that have been deployed to protect India's border with strict instructions that the first shot must come from the Chinese. Bahadur is in love with a Ladakhi/Kashmiri belle by the name of Angmo and has just secured his mother's blessings and permission to marry her. It is at this time that the Chinese launch their attack on all Indian positions and camp.
