Starting off from where Akshay Kumar`s character was introduced in Simmba, Sooryavanshi traces the acts and serious antics of DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad in India.

In order to evade the law, a ruthless don tries to kill his lookalike; a chef and tries to take his place. Bablu (Shah Rukh Khan), an aspiring chef, works in a hotel where Sonia Kapoor,(Juhi) works with him as banquet manager at the restaurant. His look-alike Manu (Shah Rukh Khan), a gangster, robs a bank along with his friend (Gulshan Grover) but gets caught. He comes out of prison and discovers that his cohort has double-crossed him. He murders his partner and escapes from the scene of the crime...without the money. Bablu stumbles on the money and keeps it. Manu's lover Lily (Sonali Bendre) mistakes Bablu to be Manu and spirits him away. Manu takes shelter in Bablu's house and realizes that he can use their resemblance to his advantage.Then starts the fun-ride with Babloo constantly being mistaken for Manu. Bablu is shocked and in disbelief, and baffled because the police keep on refering to him as "Manu". At the intervention of his mom, along with identification papers and photographs, Bablu is released and provided with an identity card so that the police know he is not Manu. Manu, who is the exact look-alike of Bablu, comes to know of this, and takes away Bablu's id. card, and takes on the identity of Bablu, leaving the hapless Bablu to be arrested again by the police. A nameless boy, who was abandoned at a very young age by his parents, faces taunts from the other children in his village for not having a name. He is referred to as "Footpath" and he earns a living by doing odd jobs around the slum. One day, he sadly asks a priest what his name is, to which the priest answers "Ram Jaane" (Ram knows), which the boy accepts as his name. Ram Jaane has a crush on schoolgirl Bela, but she dislikes him as Ram Jaane is a goon and a good for nothing. Ram Jaane's friend Murli also has feelings for Bela, but Ram Jaane threatens him that Bela only belongs to him. Ram Jaane and his friend Murli (Vivek Mushran) are caught stealing from a train by a corrupt police officer, Chewte (Puneet Issar). Chewte brutally beats Ram Jaane in jail, but Ram Jaane manages to escape from the remand home. Murli tells Ram that Bela has been sent to boarding school by her uncle Daddu (Deven Verma) and he plans to marry her off to a rich guy at the right age. Murli also says that the priest has enrolled him in school. Years later, Ram Jaane (Shah Rukh Khan) is working under Sameer Sanvla (Tinnu Anand). Ram Jaane started working with Sanvla to earn money, so that he could marry Bela when she returned. Sanvla's biggest rival is Mirchi (Amritpal). Ram Jaane attacks and takes out Mirchi's entire gang in a single strike. Technicolor is Sanvla's 2nd in command in the gang and is jealous of Ram Jaane's rise in the organization. Technicolor makes a deal with Mirchi to betray Sanvla for Rs 1 Crores and a cut in the business. Then, Technicolor makes a deal with Chewte to kill Mirchi and this way Technicolor will become the undisputed don of the city. Ram Jaane thwarts Technicolor's plans when he sees Mirchi coming and kills him. But Chewte reaches the location and kills Sanvla. Ram Jaane attempts to kill Chewte, but he is again put in jail and brutally assaulted. Technicolor comes to prison to meet Ram Jaane and asks Ram not to rat him out. He also promises to hand over Sanvla's territories to Ram Jaane when he is released from prison. Ram Jaane turns state witness and helps the Government nab smuggled goods worth several Crores. As a result, he is sentenced to 4 years in prison. When released from prison, Ram Jaane is taken by Murli to "Apna Ghar", a home that Murli has set up for the homeless. Murli believes that this is the best way to reform Ram Jaane, showing the difference between Murli and Ram Jaane and how they turned out. It is at Apna Ghar where Ram Jaane is reunited with his childhood friend Bela (Juhi Chawla), whom he is in love with. Bela is uncomfortable around Ram Jaane, as she only sees lust in his eyes. She avoids spending time alone with Ram Jaane and prefers Murli. Bela is in love with Murli, but Murli insists that he is not in love with her. Chewte has his eyes on Murli whom he accuses of illegally occupying government land worth several Crores in the guise of the orphanage. Ram Jaane reaches out to Technicolor and demands his cut in the business. Technicolor says that the business is now owned by Bhau and promises to revert. Ram Jaane asks for Rs 1 Crores, and Technicolor's Mercedes in the meantime. Technicolor sends his goons to kill Ram Jaane, but he sees them coming and kills them instead. Ram Jaane then collects his Rs 1 Crores from Bhau by threatening to kill Technicolor. Chewte works for Bhau. Chewte arrests Ram Jaane but has to release him when Technicolor tells Bhau that Ram Jaane has all papers related to their bank scam which can send them to jail. However, even in Apna Ghar, Ram Jaane remains a criminal and even manages to influence the children in the house to follow in his footsteps. Apna Ghar is soon targeted by Baweja (G.P. Singh), a criminal property developer with a vendetta for Ram Jaane, who encourages his gang to attack Apna Ghar and all its residents, which Ram Jaane is able to stop. Ram Jaane learns that the goons were working on the instructions of Technicolor. Baweja had paid Bhau and Technicolor Rs 10 Crores to get the land vacated. Ram Jaane warns Technicolor to stay away from Apna Ghar, but now Technicolor alleges that Ram Jaane is interfering with business, in which he is a partner with Bhau. Ram Jaane is then seen shooting Baweja in the head. Chewte learns of Baweja's death and is determined to have his murderer put in prison. He approaches Apna Ghar and starts beating one of the children, which leads to Murli and the others attacking Chewte and his fellow officers. In the riot, one child (14-year-old Poltu) gets killed. Murli blames Ram Jaane for this tragedy and Ram Jaane runs away. He attempts to make Bela run away with him (as he believes she loves him), but she refuses. Bela is, in fact, in love with Murli - Murli realized this all along and reciprocated her feelings but did not show it as he realized that Ram Jaane also loved her. Murli begs Bela to attempt to reform Ram Jaane. However, whilst trying to reform him, Bela begins to dislike him for his criminal ways. Ram Jaane sends money to Murli to support Apna Ghar, but Murli refuses to use any proceeds of crime for his charity work. Bela tells Ram Jaane that Murli has been sacrificing his own love, as he believes that he owes his life to Ram Jaane. She says Murli hoped that Bela would be able to turn Ram Jaane into a better human being. Murli goes to the media on the corruption between Chewte, Bhau, Technicolor and Ram Jaane. Bhau and Technicolor want to kill Murli, but Ram Jaane warns them to keep off. Bhau (Gulshan Grover), Ram Jaane's rival and Technicolor (Pankaj Kapur), Ram Jaane's former partner in crime hatch a plot to kill Ram Jaane. When he hears of their plan, he kills them both and then rushes to Apna Ghar to stop their henchmen from killing anyone. Eventually, Chewte arrives on the scene but is shot by Ram Jaane. Ram Jaane is taken to court where he confesses to all of his sins - the court decides that he must be sentenced to death. The boys of Apna Ghar are in awe of Ram Jaane, as he plans to "die with a smile." The boys think this is courageous and plan to follow in his criminal footsteps. Murli pleads with Ram Jaane not to die bravely, so the boys won't want to follow his path, but Ram Jaane refuses. On the day of his death, with Murli and the boys watching, Ram Jaane feigns fear, crying and pleading for his life. One by one, the boys remove their red headbands, the symbol of being members of Ram Jaane's gang. After his death, Bela and Murli read a letter from Ram Jaane to Bela, which states that he feels guilty for everything he had done and that he had planned intentionally for Bela to leave him and to go back to Murli.

When his brother becomes involved in a deadly bank robbery, a heartbroken cop vows to track down and retrieve his wayward sibling -- dead or alive. A notorious criminal gang creates a rift between two brothers, senior police inspector, Shanker Verma and his younger brother Jai. As a boy Shankar, his sister Munni and his mother Mrs. Bajrangi (Anjana Mumtaz) were rescued by an elephant and taken to the nearest village. Shankar's mother survives but Munni dies. Shankar is adopted by Chanchal's father (Vinod Mehra), who is a friend of Bajrangi (Dara Singh). Shankar's home was set of fire by Nahar Singh (Amrish Puri). The baby elephant saved them by breaking a wall, allowing the family to escape. Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) grows up and earns his living by doing road shows in Delhi along with Chanchal (Varsha Usgaonkar) and Appu (the elephant). Shankar happens to see a poster for Gemini circus featuring Natasha (Irina Kushnareva) and begins to dream of working with her. Hari Singh (Amrit Pal) is Indian coordinator for the Russian circus. Hari is using the circus as a front for smuggling operations along with Bob (Gulshan Grover) and Nahar Singh. Hari is being monitored by a mysterious person named Fakira (Naseeruddin Shah). As the circus goes to Delhi, Fakira joins the group as a coolie. Fakira attacks Hari in the train and wants to know Nahar's location. Fakira throws Hari off the train and he dies, and this is witnesses by Natasha. During the chaos, a bear named Misha escapes from the train and goes into the jungle. He is pursued by circus performers Serge and Natasha. Natasha is bitten by a cobra and is found by Shankar. Shankar sucks the poison out of Natasha and brings her home. Natasha can understand and speak Hindi. Meanwhile, Serge stumbles upon Bob's smuggling warehouse in the jungle. Serge tells Bob that he is looking for Natasha. Bob's men know that a foreign girl entered a nearby village the previous day. Bob agrees to help Serge, and this would be a perfect cover for him to transport his goods to Delhi. Bob brings Serge to the village, where Chanchal is only too happy to help Serge as then she would be rid of Natasha. But seeing Bob, triggers a memory in Appu of Bob and Nahar Singh killing Appu's family. He attacks Bob, and only Shankar manages to bring Appu under control. Natasha leaves with Misha. Meanwhile Shankar's mother needs an operating costing Rs 1 Lakhs for her persistence sharp headaches. Bob delivers Serge, Natasha and Misha to their circus in Delhi, and believes that he has hoodwinked the police. But then, he is pursued by Fakira, who turns out to be Police Inspector Adarsh Kumar. Bob manages to escape, but Adarsh confiscates his entire consignment. Turns out Adarsh had witnessed Bob, Hari Singh, & Nahar Singh kill an elephant and had called Bajrangi for help. When Bajrangi intervened, Nahar Singh shot Bajrangi. Nahar Singh hated Bajrangi as Bajrangi had defeated him in a public wrestling tournament earlier. Nahar Singh was the brother of Raja Sahib (Achyut Potdar), who was Bajrangi's benefactor. Nahar killed Raja Sahib also for siding with Bajrangi in the poaching matter. Adarsh was presumed dead in the melee. Hari Singh took the locket from Bajrangi's neck. Then Nahar Singh set fire to Bajrangi's home to eliminate his family, after blaming Bajrangi for elephant poaching and the death of Raja Sahib. Now, Bob is in a panic and doesn't tell Nahar Singh that he lost the drugs to the police. Adarsh approaches Bob and offers to release the drugs against a bribe of Rs 2 Crores. The drugs are to be transported to Europe in an elephant's cage. Adarsh's only motive is to get to Nahar Singh. Shankar comes to Natasha's circus in Delhi to meet her. Appu enters a live circus performance and starts performing along with Shankar. Their act is a huge hit and as a result he is offered a job in the circus. Natasha is also happy, as she and Shankar love each other. Mrs. Bajrangi refuses to let Shankar leave for Russia without marrying Chanchal. Shankar says that he has never seen Chanchal as his wife. Chanchal runs into the jungle with Appu. She reckons that in a few days Natasha's circus will leave town and things will go back to normal. Shankar anyways cannot go without Appu. But in the jungle Bob finds and abducts Appu for his smuggling plan. Chanchal tries to save Appu, but s gravely injured and dies after she is found by Shankar. Shankar follows Appu's trail to Delhi, where he reunites with Natasha. Meanwhile, Bob prepares a cage for Appu and packs it with the drugs worth Rs 250 Crores for transportation to Europe. Shankar and Natasha track Appu to the warehouse, where the cage is being prepared. Adarsh saves Shankar from being shot, but soon the police arrive, and Adarsh has to run away, along with Bob. Appu, Appu's cage, Shankar and his mother are all taken to Russia by Natasha and her circus. Adarsh and Bob are forced to follow them there. Now Natasha sees a locket in Shankar's neck that she saw on Hari. Mrs Bajrangi says that the locket belonged to Shankar's father and hence he might be alive. But Natasha tells them that the man was killed by a coolie named Fakira. Shankar vows vengeance. Serge is jealous of the love between Shankar and Natasha. Serge assaults Appu and Shankar protects him by attacking Serge. Natasha also tells Serge that she doesn't love him and will never marry him. Serge then plays a trick during a school trip. He asks the students to burst balloons which sound like gunshots to Appu, and he panics and goes berserk. Appu is arrested by the police. Shankar is ordered to take Appu back to India in 2 days. Shankar asks for one more chance and trains Appu and demonstrates that he is not impacted by the sound of bursting balloons anymore. That night Adarsh infiltrates the circus to get his drugs. As he escapes (because Appu created a ruckus and attracted attention), he runs into Natasha and Shankar. Natasha identifies Adarsh as the Coolie who killed Shankar's father. Adarsh manages to escape. Serge gets curious about Appu's cage and finds drugs hidden in its base. Adarsh is also captured when he returns to circus as a clown to retrieve the drugs. Serge says that Shankar smuggled the drugs into Russia using Appu, and that Adarsh is his partner. Mrs Bajrangi decides to visit Shankar in prison and Adarsh sees her. Turns out Adarsh is Shankar's brother, and his real name is Fakira. Adarsh meets Mrs. Bajrangi inside prison and tells her that her elder son is alive. Fakira clarifies that the man his killed was not Bajrangi, but Hari Singh. Fakira says that he smuggled drugs only to get to Nahar Singh. The next day Nahar Singh bails Fakira and Shankar out of prison and tells them that Mrs Bajrangi is in his custody. Nahar says that police got only 5 Kilos of the drugs and Fakira believes that Serge has the rest. Nahar sends Shankar to get the drugs. As Shankar confronts Serge with Natasha, Bob arrives and shoots Serge and takes control of the drugs. As the drugs reach Nahar, Fakira takes advantage of a lapse and attacks. Appu arrives and tramples Bob and Nahar as well. Finally, Natasha and Shankar get married.

Jailed as a teenager, Shankar has been unable to stay on the right side of the law ever since, despite his wife's pleas and his mother's rejection. Yashoda has been widowed for years, but has brought up her two children with lot of love, care, and honesty. She is disappointed when her son, Shankar, who is arrested for breaking the law, and subsequently jailed, and she decides she will have nothing to do with him. She runs her life and is not dependent on anyone. When Shankar comes out of jail, he tries to make amends, but Yashoda outrightly refuses to have anything to do with a criminal.

The gangs of the city are run by Shiv Saran (Gulshan Grover), Bosco, Girja Shankar (Paresh Rawal), Raghunandan (Roopesh Kumar), Bansidhar (Sharat Saxena) and Girdhar (Mahavir Shah). The heads are worried that somebody is picking off their gang members one by one. Police Inspector Amar (Vinod Khanna) goes on a daring drug bust, ending in the arrest of notorious underworld criminals Bansi and Girdhar. Amar's work goes down the drain as the criminals dodge the law and are set free. The lawyer is able to argue that when Amar apprehended the 2 men, he was not in his police uniform, and he did not declare that he is a police officer before arresting them. The lawyer claims that Bansi and Girdhar had withdrawn cash from the bank earlier that day for payroll and got scared when they saw a plain clothes person chasing them. Barrister Shrikant Sharma (Vinod Mehra) is Amar's well-wisher and advises him to remain calm. Amar says that when the law fails, ordinary citizens are forced to take the law in their own hands. Amar says that one day, one crazy person will kill these criminals who are not punished by the law. On cue, a mysterious vigilante shoots Bansi and Girdhar dead. Amar's senior DSP (Shafi Inamdar) assigns him a desk job and appoints Sub-Inspector Reema Kapoor (Dimple Kapadia) as Amar's assistant. Havaldar (Johnny Lever) also works with Amar at the police station. Reema is a very clumsy person and causes chaos wherever she goes. Amar and Reema fall in love with each other and Amar introduces her to his mother (Sushma Seth) and friend, Nitin (Jackie Shroff). Nitin is a journalist and publishes articles against crime and criminals in the city. Nitin lives with his mother (Seema Deo). Nisha (Sonam) is in love with Nitin. Nisha is the daughter of Shrikant. Shrikant wants Nisha to be an independent woman and does not want her to marry Nitin. He makes Nisha realize that Nitin is not in love with her. Meanwhile, a vigilante wreaks havoc in the city, killing the members of the underworld. When Raghunandan is murdered by the vigilante, Reema is in the building, and she gives chase to the vigilante. The vigilante manages to get away and Reema is met by Amar who happened to be in the neighborhood. Next, the vigilante goes after Bosco and once again manages to escape Reema who had guessed correctly that the vigilante would pursue Bosco. After the vigilante escaped, Reema is met by Amar, who saves her from drowning in the swimming pool. Rita (Huma Khan) was with both Bosco and Raghunandan when they were killed by the vigilante. This leads Shiv Saran to believe that she knew the vigilante and he kills her and throws her body into the ocean. The body is discovered by the police and Amar finds Shiv Saran's neck chain in Rita's hands. Amar arrests Shiv Saran from his casino. Once again, the lawyer argues that the locket could have belonged to anyone, and the confession by Shiv Saran was coerced in custody. Shiv Saran is released from custody. Reema stumbles upon Amar's closet, where she finds a helmet and a jacket worn by the vigilante. She brings the matter to the notice of Amar's superiors. Amar is suspended and charged with multiple homicides. Amar's mother also throws him out of the house. Turns out the DSP was in cahoots with Shiv Saran and Girja Shankar. Nitin comes to console Amar, but both are attacked by Shiv Saran. In the attack, Nitin is seriously injured, and Amar pursues Shiv Saran and corners him at gun point. Reema arrives and stops Amar from shooting Shiv Saran. As they argue, the vigilante arrives and shoots Shiv Saran dead. Before Reema can respond, Amar takes a shot at the vigilante and injures him, but the vigilante manages to get away. The vigilante falls from his bike after a distance, and it is revealed to be Nitin. A van comes with a doctor Abdul Rehman (Anjan Srivastav), picks Nitin and leaves. Girja and DSP discuss how to find the vigilante and decide to orchestrate things in such a way that Amar starts hating the vigilante and that way Amar would be the one hunting the vigilante on their behalf. Reema and Amar get engaged and their engagement is attended by Reema's uncle Judge Kapoor (A. K. Hangal). Kapoor sees Nitin and remembers him as a murderer named Jai Kishan from an earlier case in his career. Kapoor narrates the incident to Amar and Shrikant. Kapoor says that Jai Kishan was on trial for the murder of 5 innocents. Jai Kishan was sentenced to death, but the van carrying him to jail had an accident and he died. That is when a person wearing the same clothes as a vigilante attacks the engagement party. In the attack Amar's mother and Reema's uncle Judge Kapoor are both killed. When the attack took place, Nitin was out of the party venue to run an errand. The man pretending to be the vigilante is Girja himself. Girja attacks many other innocent people and in one instance Reema sees the mark on his hand. Amar now starts to doubt Nitin and confronts him at his home. Nitin accepts that he has killed 11 such people who were not punished by law but says that he did not kill Amar's mother or Reema's uncle as they were killed by the person who wanted to defame the vigilante. Nitin claims that he is not alone, and many people like him have played the role as well. Nitin takes Amar to an underground society which is headed by Shrikant. Before Amar could arrest them, DSP arrives at the location and arrests Amar along with the other terrorists, including Nitin. The matter goes to court where Shrikant argues that killing people who were already murderers and criminals is not against the law. These were people who had escaped punishment due to the loopholes in law and all they did was to provide justice to their victims. Jai Kishan says that he was friends with Nitin, who had died due to a drugs overdose. The drugs business in the city was run by Bosco and his associates. At court, Reema sees the mark on Girja's hand and identifies him as the person who killed the innocent people, pretending to be the vigilante. The DSP abducts Reema but is seen by Nisha. Nisha informs Shrikant, Jai Kishan and Amar about how Girja is the real killer and how DSP abducted Reema. Amar and Jai Kishan escaped police custody at the court and went after Girja and DSP. In the fight, Girja turns on the DSP and shoots him. The DSP has a change of heart and asks Amar to take him to court, where he gives testimony against Girja. Girja apprehends Amar and Jai Kishan and takes them to court as escaped convicts. But Amar had anticipated this and hidden Reema and the DSP. Reema brings DSP to court, who identifies Girja as the real killer. Girja tries to escape, but is killed by Amar and Jai Kishan.

Vijay is a story about various characters that are bound by relationships of love and friendship. How they become foes and take up weapons against each other. When Arjun (Anil Kapoor) and Vicky (Rishi Kapoor) meet, they are oblivious to the fact that they are cousin brothers. They meet as friends until one day the truth dawns that the person behind the humiliation and destruction of Arjun's mother is their Grandfather Lala Yoddhraj (Anupam Kher). The battle lines are drawn between Arjun & Vicky as well as their respective families. Vicky is unaware of the mental torture and humiliation his grandfather had subjected to Arjun's mother and how despite Arjun being the true heir to Lala Yoddhraj's business empire he is made to live a life of a poor adopted child. How Arjun wins the battle against all odds and wins back the support of his family by exposing the selfish actions of his grandfather is what Vijay is about.

A man named Satpal is released from prison after completing a life sentence. He decides to find his family as he knows that they believe he is dead. After searching everywhere, Satpal reaches the dance house of courtesan Meena Bai. Satpal has a conversation with Meena in secret and then dies on her bed. Meena then collects all her savings and jewels and packs them in a suitcase and sets fire to her dance house. Shankar Verma (Mithun Chakraborty) lives a poor lifestyle with his mother, Shanti (Tanuja), after his father, Satpal Verma (Vinod Mehra) died many years ago. Before his death he was involved with a courtesan by the name of Meena Bai (Rekha). Shankar stands up for the rights of the poor people in the slum colony against the rich, who try to corner their resources. Shankar studies in college where he comes into constant conflict with rich brat Balram, who is extremely insensitive towards the poor. Now, Shankar finds himself the object of affection of two beautiful women, Sunita (Moon Moon Sen), a wealthy girl of Thakur Bhanupratap Singh (Amrit Pal), and Madhu (Mandakini), a poor girl and lives with her parents, Hariya (Sharat Saxena) and Tara (Ila Arun). Sunita and Shankar are always bickering at campus. Both women think that Shankar is in love with them. Shankar is subsequently hired by a wealthy woman named Amita (Rekha) who wants him to spy on Thakur Bhanupratap, his son Jackie (Tej Sapru) & his partner Kedar (Roopesh Kumar) & Kedar's son Balram (Gulshan Grover). Shankar is hesitant to take on such an assignment, but his abject poverty and the responsibility of his sister's wedding forces him to reconsider Amita's offer. Additionally, Shanti has asthma and requires proper medical attention. When Shanti comes to know that Shankar is going to Taragarh she gets very afraid. She reveals how Bhanu was demanding interest money from the farmers at every harvest. When Satpal resisted, he was supported by Bhanu's younger brother Shashi. Shashi donates his land holdings back to the farmers. Bhanu gets Kedar to draft up an agreement with Satpal, which is fair to the villagers. But then Shashi comes to Satpal's home and finds that the agreement signed by the villagers was not what Satpal had indicated, and he had sold the interests of the villagers to Bhanu. Shashi goes to confront Satpal and Shanti only learns that Satpal killed Shashi and that the villagers killed Satpal. Kedar asks Shanti to run away with her son. Shankar manages to become a driver in Thakur Bhanupratap household and goes about this task of spying and keeps reporting his findings to Amita regularly. Turns out Sunita is Bhanu's daughter and Madhu's father Hariya is Bhanu's henchman. Sunita goes out of her way to torture Shankar. Sunita likes Shankar's guts that he would not back down in front of anyone and would fight for his rights and his dignity. Shankar saves Sunita's life and Bhanu wanted to pay him, but Shankar only wanted a note of thanks. This enrages Bhanu that Shankar wants to be treated as an equal, but Shankar stands his ground. While Madhu likes Shankar as he is poor like her and kind and compassionate. Shankar also likes Madhu and falls in love with her. Sunita comes by and professes her love to Shankar, but Shankar thinks she is talking about Madhu and agrees with her. Sunita believes that Shankar also loves her. Sunita is ecstatic and tells Madhu that she loves Shankar and Madhu is shocked. Madhu knows she has to antagonize Shankar and she performs a seductive dance in front of Kedar and Bhanu. As a result, Shankar is disillusioned and walks away. Sunita finds out that Madhu sacrificed her own love for Shankar, so Sunita could have a life with him. Through Shankar, Amita finds out that Kedar lives in Bangalore. Amita goes in front of Kedar and looking at her he has a heart attack. When Bhanu comes to meet him in hospital, Kedar tells him that Amita is alive. Bhanu smirks as he had asked Hariya to shoot Amita and he confirms that he did so. Meanwhile Amita poses as a rich heiress to Jackie and Balram in their casino. She lures Balram to come with her and pretends to buy Rs 20 Lakhs of drugs which she pretends to sell to Shankar for 40 Lakhs, disguised as a foreign buyer, Michael. Michael says that he has Rs 80 Lakhs more and asks for 2 more consignment of the drugs, but Amita is not interested. Balram and Jackie are now hooked at the prospect of a Rs 40 Lakhs profit in the deal. They buy 2 more consignments for Rs 40 Lakhs, taking the money from Kedar's safe, but the consignment turns out to be cow dung. Amita then calls Kedar and laughs at him that she took her share of Rs 40 Lakhs from him eventually. Bhanu is perplexed about how this woman could claim to be Amita. One day while talking to villagers, Shankar finds out that his father had a bad reputation and had not only betrayed the villagers, but had also killed Thakur Bhanupratap's younger brother, Shashipratap (Jeetendra). He also learns that Satpal had relations with another woman. His inquiries take him to Central Jail, but on arrival, he is told by the jail superintendent that his father had finished serving his life sentence & was released & after his release had died just 6 months ago at the Brothel of Meena Bai. This was a surprise to Shankar as he & his mother Shanti had been under the impression that his father Satpal Verma had died much earlier many years ago. Shankar then sets out to find out the whereabouts of Meena Bai, but her brothel had caught fire & was destroyed and now no one knows her whereabouts. Meanwhile Amita visits Kedar while he is alone and kills him. Little does Shankar know that Meena Bai is still alive in the shape and form of none other than Amita and is using Shankar as a tool to extract vengeance against Thakur Bhanupratap. This was confirmed to Shankar by his mother Shanti and Shankar confronts Amita. Amita says that Satpal used to consider her as his sister. She says that she and Shashi used to love each other as kids. But then Shashi went abroad for his studies and Bhanu killed her father for not paying land taxes. Amita became a dancer named Meena. One day, Shashi returned and became an alcoholic when he didn't find Amita. He goes to Meena's dance house and realizes that Meena is Amita. Amita gets pregnant in time with Shashi's child. Bhanu tricks Satpal and makes a separate agreement for him versus the rest of the villagers. The villagers consider this as Satpal's fraud and complain to Shashi. Shashi was killed by Bhanu's henchmen, but the villagers believe Satpal killed him. Meanwhile, Bhanu asks Hariya to kill Amita, while Tara says that Amita's child was stillborn. Hariya doesn't kill Amita and returns her to the dance house. One day, Satpal returned to the dance house and revealed that he did not kill Shashi. This was a conspiracy by Bhanu and Kedar. Tara reveals to Hariya that Madhu is actually Shashi's daughter. Bhanu finds the truth and shoots Hariya and Tara. Shankar intervenes and tries to save Hariya and Tara, as he takes them away in a van with Bhanu as his hostage. They are pursued by Jackie, Balram and their goons. Bhanu escapes from the van. Shankar brings them to the village, where Hariya reveals that Madhu is Shashi's daughter. Bhanu and his men attack the village. The villagers support Shankar and come out to fight. Shankar fights Bhanu and defeats him. Bhanu is forced to return the fraud documents of all villagers. Bhanu then gets a gun and shoots Amita, and is shot dead by Shankar. Shankar marries Madhu.

Peer Baba (Shammi Kapoor) sits in a town on the trade routes of Arabia and is the keeper of ancient tales. A rich tribal lord Ismail Baig from Bukhara comes to the Baba begging for a child, as he and his wife are childless. Baba blesses the couple but says that the resultant child will have to face severe storms in his life and could even die due to the intense storm of love. At the same time came Tulla (Pran) with his wife (Tanuja) from India, begging for their own bundle of love. Baba issues the same warning to Tulla and blesses the couple with a daughter. 20 years later, the boy and the girl have grown up. Tulla daughter is a pottery artist and sends a beautiful water jug to the Baba, via trader named Hasim, as a gift. The Baba asks Hashim to take the jug to Bukhara and give water to the first thirsty person he sees. Back in Bukhara the boy is a tribal prince named Izzat. Izzat wins the tribal sport of Buzkashi, against all the other warriors of the tribe. Hashim reaches Bukhara and gives the jug to Izzat who declares that he is thirsty. Drinking the water, Izzat has visions of a beautiful woman and now wants to go to India to meet her. Ismail knows that this is the test that Baba had foreseen for Izzat. But Ismail allows Izzat to go, as this is destiny and has to be faced. Shahzada Izzat Beg (Sunny Deol) comes to India with his caravan from Bukhara Uzbekistan and settles in a town called Gujra in Punjab. Salamat (Rakesh Bedi) is Izzat's friend, whom he had freed from slavery during the trip, by paying Salamat's master 1000 Dinars. On the way Izzat also fights the bandit leader Zarina (Zeenat Aman), when her gang attacks the caravan, for feeding water to their enemy. Zarina befriends Izzat when he declares that he will not fight a woman. The enemy Izzat saved was named Jabru, who says that he knows why Zarina became an outlaw. In Punjab, Izzat falls in love with Sohni (Poonam Dhillon), who keeps a shop of earthen pots with her father Tulla. Izzat Beg buys a pot from her with whatever money he had, and they are attracted to each other. Salamat also falls in love with a girl named Salamati, who is Noor's (Gulshan Grover) sister. Turns out Sohni was already engaged to Jabru, the man whom Izzat saved on the way to the town. Jabru's sister Malkani only knew that he had been abducted by bandit Zara, and didn't know that Jabru had been saved by Izzat. Malkani breaks the engagement with Tulla. Izzat requests Tulla to teach him the art of pottery, and since Izzat had bought Tulla's entire inventory, he was happy to oblige. Meanwhile Jabru returns to Malkani and reveals that Zara is actually Zarina. It seems that Zarina killed her husband due to Malkani and turned into a bandit. Jabru insists that he will only marry Sohni, but Malkani refuses to set foot in Tulla's house again. Malkani summons Tulla to her house. Malkani says that Sohni will not get a better groom than Jabru, but Tulla refuses to consider the match after being insulted by Malkani. In response, Malkani stops the supply of earthen clay to all potters in town. Only her land supplies the earthen clay. Izzat uses every opportunity to get close to Sohni, and even kisses her. While Noor is in love with Sohni and resents her relationship with Izzat. Noor approaches Sohni's mother and asks for her hand in marriage as he argues that the news of her engagement breaking will bring much disrespect to the family. Noor also says that he is from the same tribe as Sohni, and hence has the right to propose marriage. But Tulla hates Noor, as Noor was his student who opened his own pottery shop, and now wants to use Sohni's misfortune, to get his hands on Sohni herself. Noor accuses Tulla of selling his daughter to the rich Izzat. Tulla finds Sohni romancing Izzat and confronts her. Tulla says that it is a matter of honor for him and asks Sohni to stay away from Izzat. Noor complains to Zarina that a foreigner entered the village and bought his love with the might of money. Zarina has the foreigner abducted, only to find that it is Izzat. Noor challenges Izzat to a duel and is easily defeated. Izzat tells Zarina that Sohni loves him, but spares Noor's life as he knows that Noor also loves Sohni and that is not a crime. Zarina tells her own story to Izzat. She says that she loves a poor man named Rashid. She eloped with him, after her family refused to accept their love. But once she eloped, she found that Rashid was already in love with Malkani. Zarina stabs Rashid to death and turns into an outlaw. The potters beg Malkani to restart the supply for earthen clay. Malkani wants Tulla to marry Sohni to Jabru as her condition to restart the supply of clay. The potters try to convince Tulla, but he asks for more time to make a decision. Meanwhile, Sohni and Izzat continue to meet, which is seen by Noor. Izzat was staying in the village in the disguise of a cow herder. He had bribed the original cow herder named Mahiwal to give his clothes to him, and the original to leave the village. Noor knew this, and he poisons the buffaloes, while Izzat was romancing Sohni. The villagers find Izzat in the disguise of the cow herder and beat him up. The village Panchayat decide that Izzat poisoned the cattle to take revenge on the village when they refused to marry Sohni to him. He is sentenced to death by hunger. The Panchayat also decides that Sohni will be married to Jabru to resolve the issue with Malkani. After several days, with Izzat nearing death, Sohni agrees to marry Jabru to save Izzat's life. But now, Jabru finds Izzat on the streets with Salamat, and brings him home for treatment. When Izzat recovers, he realizes that Jabru is the guy engaged to Sohni now. Since Jabru is his friend, Izzat decides not to reveal the truth to Jabru. But Noor realizes the issue and reveals everything to Malkani. Noor says that this is Izzat's ploy since after the wedding both Izzat and Sohni will be living under Malkani's roof. Noor then goes to Zarina and says that Izzat's Sohni is being married forcefully to Jabru. On the day of the wedding, Noor attacks Izzat when he is alone and abducts him with his goons. Noor reveals to Izzat that he was the one who poisoned the cattle. He also says that Zarina will kill Malkani and Jabru at Tulla's house and this way Sohni will end up with Noor. Izzat defeats Noor and rushes back to the village to the wedding with Salamat. Due to a storm, their horse falls down, injuring Izzat. Zarina confronts Malkani at the wedding and says that the wedding is happening without the bride's consent. Jabru is shocked to find that Sohni loved Izzat, his best friend, and was only engaged to him so that the villagers could get clay from Malkani's land. Jabru divorces Sohni. Salamat reaches the wedding and reveals how Malkani sent Noor to kill Izzat. Sohni rushes to Izzat who is lying injured by the river. Sohni and Izzat enter the stormy river from opposite ends and meet in the middle and drown together in embrace.

While trying to win over his beloved's parents, a young man is accused of arson, and his father soon realizes insanity may be his only defense. Coming from a decent upper middle-class family, Vikram Saxena meets with gorgeous Seema Singh, and both fall in love. But their respective families have other plans for them. While Vikram is able to convince his advocate dad, Shyam Sunder, to change his mind, Seema is unable to do so, and her marriage is being planned with a U.S. resident. Things take a turn for the worst when the police arrest Vikram with arson, with evidence that he had burned down a property belonging to Seema's dad, Colonel Ram Mohan Singh. Due to this, Vikram's dad comes forward to defend him, and Seema will not have anything to do with him anymore. Shyam Sunder realizes that the only way he can save his son from being imprisoned is to have him certified as insane, but will have to live with the consequences for the rest of his life, as well as the the stigma this will place on his family for years to come. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)
