Shaji Kailas`s `Ginger` is a humorous tale, set against the backdrop of a village, enroots a road trip. Two scheming thieves Vivekanandan and Najeeb Kecheri plans to rob Harinarayanan and his wife Devika`s house, but in a quirk of fate, becomes a part of their life. Meanwhile, when moneylender Edamuttam Pappachen asks them to do something special for him, the story takes another turn.

The film explores the depth of human relations and tries to take the audience to a place beyond love. The film is set in 1950`s and narrates the story of Guru Dasan. Dasan who has two wives but ends up having relations which village landlord`s wife and gets caught in the act. The events which follow explore different shades of love and problems surrounding conventional concepts.

The film is a story about intense human relation. It is a scalar but tries to picture if a love can bloom in a person`s heart, will have a certain direction too?

Housefull 2, The Dirty Dozen is the second superstar packed instalment in the Housefull franchise. A completely new story with new characters and a new star cast, Housefull2 is bigger than its predecessor in every aspect. It is the story of four fathers, four daughters and four prospective son-in-laws and as the second half of the tile suggests, they are the dirty dozen. Each father wants his daughter to marry the richest son-in-law, each daughter thinks she is marrying the richest son-in-law, each son-in-law is pretending to be the richest son-in-law. Each character is flawed, unscrupulous and extremely entertaining. The good news for the audience is that none of these people can stand each other and all of them are under one roof, in one house as the first half of the title suggests HOUSEFULL.

The film is about seven young men, passionate about football - sevens football to be precise - and how they inadvertently get involved in a crime. Sevens is a kind of football played in North malabar and is played by seven players on either side - instead of the traditional 11.

Johny (Baburaj) is a lorry driver with an insatiable sex drive. Married to Lissy (Kiran), he has an eye for a younger girl Sofie (Oviya) who has come to stay with them. He repeatedly tries to goad her to marry him, but she doesn`t comply. In a fit of rage, he kills her, kills his wife and kills his eleven-year-old daughter as well with a knife. Crime Branch Officer David (Prithviraj) goes probing into the case and comes out with shocking findings on who the true killer was.

Avinash Varma (Suresh Gopi) is the District Collector of Ernakulam. He takes down several anti-social elements who rule the underworld of Kochi. Of them, Williams (Rajeev), who is a real estate businessman was his biggest opponent. ACP Revathy and social activist Arundhati were there to support Avinash Varma. The City Police Commissioner, the Lady Mayor Sethulakshmi (Mohini) of Kochi Corporation and a couple of corrupt ministers and officials were supporting the illegal activities of Williams. Whether he wins against the evil forces and if his honesty is awarded, forms the rest of the story.

Payyans is a slapstick comedy that narrates the story of a reckless youth who is forced to act his age and take responsibility for his actions. The film explores the relationship between a mother and a child. The central character Josy (Jayasurya) is brought up all by his mother (Rohini). Josy`s problems start with the disappearance of his father. He drops out from college to start his own business. But he does not succeed in his venture because of the lifestyle he leads. The film takes a turn when his long-lost father enters the picture and attempts to bring his life back in shape.

Kichu, a sweet little chocolate boy, has to face Sudhi, the villainous boy of the college. Kichu is unwilling to get into fights, and taking the advantage of that, Sudhi beats him up on accounts of suspicion of the girl he likes being attracted to Kichu. Kichu is seriously wounded after this fight, but fortunately or unfortunately, he gets a flashback phenomena which makes him aggressive and hostile. Kichu returns to the college and then teaches Sudhi and his people the lesson.

Vijay Krishnan seeks to exact revenge on those responsible for his family demise. Devarajan murders his wealthy brother-in-law and widower Krishnadas, and with the help of his friends and co-conspirators Superintendent Koshi, Inspector Sharat and advocate Raj Mohan, manages to discredit and disinherit Krishnadas's illegitimate son Vijay Krishnan. With the help of a few trusted friends, Vijay starts his revenge on the four people who murdered his parents and destroyed his life, but he is also hunted by Crime Branch officer Swaminathan. —binand@gmx.net
