The film tells the story of a businessman and an artist who fall in love. On the surface level, the personal and professional issues of the couple create a dent in their life, and the movie follows the subsequent events.

Immanuel's life takes an odd turn when the publishing firm that he works for shuts down. He gets a job in an insurance company but faces severe hardships, which end up changing him as a person. Immanuel works for a publishing house that is counting its days. The publishing house is owned by Joseph, whom Immanuel treats like his father. Debts force Joseph to leave behind his business. But Joseph recommends Immanuel to a job interview of an insurance company. Though Immanuel lacks the domain knowledge, through his selling prowess he gets the job. He gets a new boss, Jeevan. Jeevan is ambitious professional. He sets up a professional challenge for Immanuel . Now its Immanuel turn to stick to morality when it comes to business.

The story is about Nandagopan (Dileep), a villager who writes the story of his own life and sufferings and wants Sooryakiran (Kalabhavan Mani), who is a south Indian superstar, to make a film based on it. When the meeting finally happens one night, the star is in a foul mood and behaves rudely with Nandan, who abandons the idea of making the film, but leaves the script behind. Sooryakiran, who always boasts of coming up the hard way, reads the script later and is so moved by it that he decides to make the movie. The film shows Sooryakiran making Nandan`s dream project, overcoming the hurdles put in the way by a caucus of politicians led by a headstrong minister (Devan).

The film revolves around a man (Sathyaraj) whose life has been torn to shreds by corrupt men of the system. He faced the brunt of their anger when he dared to stand up against them. Now, his sole aim is to purge the system and the country of all corrupt evils. For that he begins forging a small army of young people who are at a similar angst against the system or at least some people in it. How this army goes about in its task of cleansing the political and bureaucratic scenario forms the rest of Sattapadi Kuttram.

The story takes a turn when Annie (Mukta) a medical student and Sara`s half sister who is taken cared of by David, is accused by the police for committing the murder of Benny, an upcoming politician and the son of political king and former Revenue Minister M C Paul (Vijayraghavan). Now David must save her and also reveal the political family leadership pattern prevalent in the state.
