Two ill-fated lovers across two parallel time periods: one real, and one fictitious, get into a forbidden union only to meet their untimely doom.

The story is interspersed with images of a competition between a prince and a poor horse-riding warrior, for the hand of a Princess. The battle is an archery competition in which the suitors have to hit an artificial bird in the sky, while riding on horseback and the bird moving in unpredictable patterns due to explosive driven Thrust. The poor warrior slits the prince's arrow in half and hits the target. The Prince tries to throw the warrior off his horseback, but the warrior is skilled and recovers in time. The riders must now take possession of a jeweled spear, while surviving a barrage of fire balls fired at them from the sky. The warrior is a skilled horse rider and expertly navigates through the hazard to take the jewel. The warrior wins the competition and presents himself as a suitor to the Princess. The prince attacks the warrior, and the warrior is ready to retaliate. The Princess distracts the warrior as she does not bloodshed and indicates for him to leave. The Princess is betrothed to the prince. She knows that this is a political alliance more than a marriage. The Princess goes secretly to meet the warrior. The Princess has a dream of being attacked by the prince and his army and the warrior shooting at them. The Princess doesn't want bloodshed and breaks the warrior's arrows while he sleeps. When the Prince attacks, the warrior has one arrow left and kills the prince with it and is killed since he has no more arrows to defend himself. The Princess kills herself as well. Adil Mirzya (Harshvardhan Kapoor) is a horse groomsman who reconnects with his childhood friend Suchitra (Saiyami Kher), the daughter of a Police Commissioner (Art Malik). It is implied that Adil and Suchitra used to study together in childhood & were close to each other. Adil and Suchitra are in the same class. Adil had a crush on Suchitra, and he used to carry her bag to school. One day, Adil/Mohnish is late to school as he brings some berries for Suchitra and consequently misses the school bus. Adil enters the class in the middle of the period. The teacher notices this and asks Adil for his homework. Suchitra gives Adil her notebook to show to the teacher. Then the teacher asks for Suchitra's notebook, and she has to admit that she did not complete her homework. The teacher punished Suchitra (by hitting her hand with a cane) for something that Adil did. Suchitra covered for him and took the punishment. In retaliation, Adil shoots the teacher after stealing the gun from Suchitra's father. He is jailed in juvenile detention, but later escapes and goes to meet Suchitra, but by then Suchitra is made to shift towns by her parents. Suchitra's father sends her away to London for higher studies. Abba (Om Puri) is the blacksmith of the town, who live with his daughter Zeenat (Sathya Bg). Adil was adopted by Abba when he escaped from Juvenile prison and hence, he considers Zeenat his sister. But Zeenat secretly has a crush on Adil. It was Abba who taught Adil to work with horses and to care for them. Karan (Anuj Choudhry) is a successful businessman and belongs to a royal family. Suchitra's dad is the police commissioner of the area and is planning to get Suchitra engaged to Karan. Suchitra and Karan are very much in love. Unknown to Suchitra, Adil has been tracking her and gets a job in Karan's stable farm. Suchi first notices Adil at a polo match, which he wins against Karan. Adil spends time with Suchitra when she expresses a desire to learn horse riding and Adil is given the responsibility. To hide his identity Adil says that he never went to school, and he learned a little of English while working at the stables. Adil and Suchi spend a lot of time together at the stables with each other. As Suchitra gets to be friends with Adil, she talks about her classmate whom she remembers fondly. That's when Suchitra realizes that Adil is her classmate and her childhood friend. Suchi is angry with Adil for abandoning her in childhood. To spite him, she gets engaged to Karan. But then, has longing for Mirzya and comes to the stable at night and has sex with him. In a night safari, Suchi is attacked by a leopard. Adil risks his life to save both Suchi and Karan (who is knocked unconscious in the attack). Adil approaches Suchi's dad and reveals that he is the boy who studied with Suchi in school & killed the teacher. He asks for Suchi's hand in marriage, but Suchi's father kicks him out of the house. When Karan comes to know, he takes Adil for a night safari, shoots him & then leaves him for dead as he watches a leopard approach the injured Adil. Suchitra's father forces her to agree to the wedding, threatening that he would kill himself otherwise. On the day of her wedding to Karan, Suchi escapes from the house (after receiving a message from Adil via Zeenat) & runs away on a bike with Adil, who is alive. They share a few moments of love and freedom on their desert ride. Since Zeenat knows Adil does not love her, she slits her wrists in Suchitra's room after she leaves. Zeenat knew that if she gets caught, she will have to reveal her friends' whereabouts. Suchitra's dad initiates a police search. Eventually they are located, and Karan and Suchi's father follow their trail. Meanwhile Adil's bike runs out of fuel in the middle of the desert. At night, knowing they are being pursued, Suchi realizes that Adil has a gun and intends to shoot their pursuers, which will include Karan and Suchi's father. When Adil nods off, she empties his gun. The next morning, they are attacked. Adil manages to kill Karan with the one bullet he has left. He is shot & killed by Suchi's dad. Suchi commits suicide.

A bunch of misfits and gangsters embarks on a journey to find a lost and stolen diamond. Raja lives in Dubai, U.A.E. and is a career-criminal, partnered by his girlfriend, Tina, and her maternal uncle, Chobey. Raja also makes additional money by masquerading as Rahul, the son of Lajwanti, who was killed in an accident. Since Chobey owes money to a gangster named Moscow Chikna, Raja decides to help him out by arranging the abduction of Rocky, a jewel thief, who has a priceless diamond in his possession. If Raja and his gang do not bring this diamond to Moscow Chikna, he has sworn to cut off their arms. When another gangster, JD, finds out about the diamond, he asks them to bring the diamond to him or else he will cut off their legs. The trio abduct Rocky - only to be threatened by a London-based gangster, Chokshi, who has recruited Gunmaster G9, who has threatened to cut off their respective necks if the diamond is not surrendered to Chokshi. Chaos prevails as the hapless trio, their lives complicated by the bumbling Kuttu Pilot, hustle to save their lives - in vain attempts to try and pacify the three gangsters.

The story revolves around five youngsters, who help a London-based filmmaker to shoot a documentary on the Indian revolutionaries during the freedom struggle. Their involvement in the whole process unwittingly evokes patriotism in them, leading to their political awakening.

Balraj Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan) is a rich businessman, happy and content with his world. He and his wife Shobhna (Hema Malini) live happily together, and they wait for their only son Avinash 'Avi' (Salman Khan) to return from his studies abroad. After an absence of 7 years, Avinash comes back to India. He reunites with his parents at the airport and races home. Back home, Avi joins his father's business. Balraj is very competitive and even engages Avi is a car race from time to time. Balwant is Balraj's elder brother. Pushpa Kapoor (Sarika) is Balraj and Balwant's widowed younger sister-in-law who has always been looked down upon by Balwant for being a widow. Panchi (Rajpal Yadav) is the household servant and chauffeur. Balwant has a son Khushi (Parmeet Sethi). Balwant insists that Indian traditions are followed in the house with full respect to the culture and religious practices. One day they decide to go golfing. Avi and Balraj engage in a friendly banter. Avi accuses Balraj of cheating at sports. Avi picks the ball and accidentally throws it in the wrong direction which ruins a painting. The young woman painting the picture, Malvika 'Millie' (Rani Mukherjee) gets furious with Balraj and leaves. Balraj admonishes Millie for trying to paint on a golf course. Balraj says that he had paid for a round of golf and that it is not a park where Millie can spread her equipment. Balraj insults Millie by saying that her painting was not very good in the first place. Millie is distraught as she had invested 3 days in the painting, and her father had taken special permission for her to paint on the golf course. Later on, Avi runs into Millie on the golf course, and they start to talk. Millie tells him that a stupid old man ruined her painting and points out that it was Balraj; but she doesn't know that the 'old man' is Avi's father, and he doesn't tell her. Avi says that Balraj is his boss, and he works for him for a pittance. They start to hang out together while slowly falling in love with each other. Avi tells Millie that he was fired from his job for speaking up his mind and standing up for the truth. Avi pursues Millie, but makes it sound like they are meeting by chance and that destiny is bringing them together. Later, Avi tells Millie that Balraj apologized for his actions and begged him to come back to work. Millie stays with her parents Jeet (Sharat Saxena) and Suman (Smita Jaykar). When Millie comes home, she is visited by her childhood friend Rajat (John Abraham). She tells him that she loves someone, which devastates him because he is also in love with her. One day, Millie goes to Avi's office to drop off a painting (Avi's interior designer had purchased 3 of Millie's paintings and she was delivering them) and finds out that Balraj is Avi's father. When Avi shows up, she leaves the office crying. He chases after her and says that the only reason he lied to her was because he loves her. She doesn't accept his apology right then, but when Balraj apologies to her for ruining her painting, she forgives them both. Avi asks Millie to get dressed up for a party at his house. When she arrives, there is no one except Avi. He proposes to her, and she accepts. The next day, Avi's whole family visits Millie's house to discuss marriage and everyone agrees, except Rajat. Rajat tells Avi that he'll let him marry her if only he promises to always keep her happy and never let her get sad. Balwant brings his entire family to the wedding, except Pushpa, whom he considers a bad omen and not fit for public functions. Balraj respects his wife's wishes and invites Pushpa for the Phere ceremony, overruling Balwant. Avi and Millie get married and soon they're expecting a child. Time goes on, Millie's water breaks while in yoga class and Avi and she flee to the hospital where they are blessed with a healthy baby boy. Their child Ansh grows up to be a sweet and intelligent boy. The family throws a birthday bash for Ansh and wait for Avi who is in a meeting. But Avi never arrives home. He is involved in an accident and dies. Millie is devastated. Balraj seeks to bring happiness back into Millie's life and gets into contact with Rajat. He learns that Rajat still loves Millie. Balraj asks Rajat to marry Millie. Rajat meets Ansh and bonds well with him. However, there is stiff opposition from Shobhna and Balraj's conservative older brother Balwant (Om Puri). Shobhna fears losing her grandson Ansh, while Balwant thinks a widow's remarriage is a sin. However, Balraj stands firm and convinces everyone. In the end, Rajat and Millie get married, and everything is well. Avinash comes in as a ghost and blesses his dad with happiness.

Mangal Pandey: The Rising is a biographical drama based on the life of Mangal Pandey, an Indian sepoy in the British Army of the East India Company who sparked India's first war of Independence in 1857.

It is the year 1857, a large part of the Indian subcontinent is under the control of the British East India Company. The private company has its own administration, laws and its own army, which controls the fate of 20% of world's humanity. On 7 April, in Barrackpore in West Bengal, Mangal Pandey (Aamir Khan), a Sepoy (soldier of Indian origin) in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry of the company's army, is being led to his execution by hanging for fomenting mutiny against company rule. Witnessing the execution is Pandey's friend, Captain William Gordon (Toby Stephens), who is relieved when the execution is delayed due to the hangman's refusal to hang Pandey. Gordon knows that he is responsible for the upcoming wars between India and the British Empire. The film then flashes back to four years earlier. While fighting in Afghanistan, Pandey saves Gordon's life by dragging him to safety when the two were targeted by Afghan snipers. Afterwards, Gordon seeks out Pandey at a camp and offers him his pistol as a token of gratitude. 4 years later (31 December 1856), during the New Year Eve's ball at the Governor General's palace in Calcutta, Pandey angers Captain Hewson (Ben Nealon) when he attempts to stop him from severely beating an Indian servant for inadvertently touching Emily Kent (Coral Beed), the daughter of Mr. Graham Kent (Kenneth Cranham), an influential British businessman. Gordon witnesses the assault but does not stop it leading to tension with Pandey. However, he apologizes to Pandey during a wrestling match and a friendship is formed between them transcending rank, color and race. Gordon even participates with Pandey to sabotage Hewson's horse-riding gear, which leads to Hewson falling on his back in a comic fashion. Officer Lockwood (Simon Chandler) is the company auditor who has been sent from England specifically to look into the company's affairs in India, and investigate the charges of corruption and wrong doing. Company's biggest business in India is opium. Company forces Indian farmers to grow Opium and pay them a pittance for it. They would sell this Opium in China at inflated prices and buy spices and silks from them. When the Emperor of China resisted, the company attacked China and wrested Hing Kong from them, using Indian soldiers for the battle. Lockwood raids the warehouse of a Parsi trader Sohrabjee (Sohrab Ardeshir) and finds stacks of privately purchased Opium ready to be shipped to China. Sohrabjee tries to Lockwood out with a bribe of 3000 pounds. But Lockwood burns the entire stock of Opium since the Company has a monopoly on the opium trade in India. The farmers who sold the Opium to Sohrabjee (under orders from Company officers), their lands are confiscated, and when they protest, the army fires on them and sets their village on fire. Meanwhile, the installation of communication wires all over the country have enabled telegraph services, which allows the East India Company to move troops to the troubled regions quickly, and before the situation gets out of hand. The company then introduces a new weapon in January 1857 for its troops: the Enfield rifled musket. Rumors spread among the Sepoy that the paper cartridges holding the powder and ball for the rifle are greased with either pig fat or beef tallow; the process of loading the rifle requires the soldier to bite down on the cartridge, and the soldiers believe that this would cause them to consume pork or beef - acts abhorrent to Muslim and Hindu soldiers, respectively, for religious reasons. A low-caste laborer named Nainsukh (Atul Kumar) teases Pandey, a Brahmin, that he has lost his caste by using such a gun, but Pandey dismisses Nainsukh's taunts. The Sepoy, led by Pandey, express their concerns to General Hearsey (Jeremy Clyde), but he reassures them that no such cartridge exists. The Sepoy remain concerned when they are asked to test-fire the new rifle at musketry drill, but Gordon, after talking to Hearsey, reiterates that no such cartridge exists and asks a Sepoy to test-fire the rifle. Pandey volunteers, and his fellow Sepoy chastise him afterward. However, demonstrating his trust in Gordon, he states his belief that the rumors are untrue. Meanwhile, Gordon stops a Sati ceremony from occurring and rescues a widow, Jwala (Ameesha Patel). Jwala says that she was forcefully married to a 60-year-old man, who had grown children. The Sarpanch demands that Gordon return Jwala, but he refuses. Gordon arranges for her to be treated, and the two gradually become closer, eventually having an affair. Pandey sides with Gordon on the matter, earning the ire of his community. Pandey further earns Captain Hewson's ire by stopping him from trying to sexually assault a prostitute named Heera (Rani Mukerji), who was sold to a brothel run by Lol Bibi (Kirron Kher) exclusively for British soldiers. While slavery was banned in Britain, the company allowed it in India, as it was a means of entertainment for the white soldiers and this way the army remained free of any serious diseases. Pandey suffers a serious beating from Hewson and three other officers the next day, but Gordon intervenes and saves Pandey. Pandey meets Heera at the brothel afterwards, and they begin to fall in love with each other. Sometime later, Nainsukh takes Pandey and some other Sepoy to see the factory, owned by Mr. Kent, where the cartridge grease is made; indeed, the grease turns out to be pig fat and beef tallow. Pandey, believing Gordon lied to him, returns Gordon's pistol, and ends their friendship. Hearing of the 34th Regiment's refusal to use the rifles, the 19th Regiment at Berhampore also refuses to use them in a parade at the ground on 12 February 1857, and mutiny brews among the Sepoy. Gordon unsuccessfully attempts to dissuade Pandey and the mutineers from rebelling and is likewise unsuccessful at convincing Major General George Anson (Christopher Adamson), the Commander-in-Chief, India, to abandon using the cartridges. The mutineers, meanwhile, meet with Tatya Tope (Deepraj Rana) and his messenger Azimullah (Shahbaz Khan) and they all agree to unite under the leadership of the elderly Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar (Habib Tanvir) and rise in rebellion. Anson decides to send the Queen's Regiment from Rangoon to intercept and subdue the rebels; it is scheduled to arrive in Berhampore on 1 April. Heera informs Pandey of this plan, having spent the previous night with Hewson. The rebels revise their timetable to march on 30 March, but the wife of one of the rebels, angry at her husband after an argument in which he tells her of the impending revolt, informs her British employer woman of the plans. As the employer woman is having an affair with Hewson at the time, he overhears the conversation and later tortures the rebel into revealing the date of the march. On 29 March, the mutineers are informed of the Rangoon Regiment's arrival. Pandey attempts to rally them into fending off the attack, and when the officers, including Gordon, inquire as to what they are doing, the rebels turn on them. With the regiment's arrival, the mutineers want to throw down their weapons; Pandey, however, fires at the opposing forces, killing two and injuring four. Later on, he was court-martialed, and Gordon testified on his behalf, passionately defending his actions and warning of bloody rebellion if he is hanged. Despite Gordon's warning, the court-martial imposes a death sentence on Pandey. The night before Pandey's execution, Heera visits him in his jail cell and has him place Sindoor on her forehead, marking their marriage. The next day (on 8 April), in front of Gordon, the British officers, his fellow Sepoy, and the townspeople, Pandey is hanged. Inspired by his execution, the spectators break out in revolt. The film ends with drawings of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and footage of the later Indian independence movement.

A man embarks on journey to find his love in Dubai, only to learn she has different suitors and admirers. This is the story of Karan and Tanya. Karan is in love with Tanya but is too shy to tell her. Meanwhile, Tanya's physically disabled friend, Sanju also has a soft spot for her and tries thwarting Rocky's attempts at getting close to Tanya. Then Natasha's life changes when another young man enters her life, a young man she had known as Karan in her college days, who used to study and work in the cafeteria. The only problem is that Tommy, Rocky, Sanju, and a blind man hate Karan. There is also a fifth admirer of Natasha namely Sunny Khurana, also from her college days in Bombay, who will do anything to get married to her. The only similarity between Sunny and Karan is that they know her as Tanya, a young woman who suddenly left Bombay and settled in Dubai for unknown reasons. Sapna has lost her parents at an early age and lives with her three quirky uncles - Bhola Nath is a fitness freak, Prabhu Nath is a deeply religious fellow and Vicky Nath is a disco-savvy dude. This gets notice by ACP Amar Agnihotri; who with his recommendation Arjun Singh a police inspector is made to act as a prisoner in Lankeshwar's jail. Amar proposes to the Minister to permit a Police Inspector to be jailed, who will then find out the real truth about Lankeshwar and his convicts. Arjun Singh is the police inspector selected for this job, and he agrees to do so. A plan is contrived by Amar and his superiors, which will result in Arjun shooting Amar down with a blank bullet, and then absconding. This goes according to plan, and Arjun is apprehended and held for court. He pleads guilty, and is sentenced to Lankeshwar's jail.
