Pran Sikand

Based on the Hindu epic Ramayana's last chapter Uttar Kand. After defeating Ravanji, Bhagwan Shri Ram returns to Ayodhya, is crowned the emperor and settles down to a harmonious lifestyle along with his biological and fosters mothers, three brothers (Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan), their respective wives, and his very own wife, Devi Maa Sitaji, who is expecting soon. When his spies inform him that his reputation may be at stake as Sitaji had spent over a year in Ravanji's Lanka, he asks a reluctant Lakshman, to ensure that Sitaji is sent to exile. A devastated, pregnant, and distraught Sitaji is rescued by Maharishi Valmiki, who takes her to his Ashram, renames her Lokpavni, where she subsequently gives birth to two sons, Kush and Lav. Valmikiji trains them in every possible way, including knowledge, warfare, and religion. Ten years later, the twins decide to visit a drought and famine-ravaged Ayodhya to get the blessings of Ramji and Sitaji as well recite the Ramayan - and this is where they will find out that Ramji has exiled Sitaji, and they return home disappointed and refuse to recite the Ramayan anymore. Sagar is a popular singer, and since he is a bachelor, he is always mobbed by young women wherever he stages his shows. Bharti, a law student from a rich family, lives a comfortable life. However, her life changes when she learns from a classmate that her father makes his fortune from illegal and immoral activities. Bharti Bhandari lives a wealthy life-style with her mom, Sharda, and dad, Ashok. She studies in law college, where she is in love with fellow-collegian, Vijay Srivastav. Another collegian, Vicky, who is also smitten with Bharti, tells her that Ashok has made millions not by a legitimate business but by smuggling, kidnapping, selling children and young women. Bharti is shocked, she confronts her father, but he denies everything. Satisfied that her dad would not lie to her, she goes for a trip to Goa along with Vijay and that's where she actually sees her dad, who is supposed to be in London, U.K., smuggling some children abroad a yacht. Bharti and Vijay find out that Ashok has vital documents that will lead to India being taken over by a foreign power, and they decide to put a stop to this. Before they could do anything, Vijay is killed. When Bharti confronts her parents, resulting in arguments, which lead to a physical struggle, resulting in the death of Sharda, and Bharti shooting Ashok to death. Bharti takes the documents and runs away to distant Ooty in a bid to escape the murder charge and bring the documents to the appropriate authorities. But Ashok's associates find out and she becomes their target, she hires a bodyguard named Jamliya, who proves to be unreliable. Bharti will now find that her worst nightmare comes true when a couple claiming to be her mom and dad surface out of nowhere, backed up by none other than her very own paternal uncle, Kishore Bhandari. The motive to prove her insane. But the question remains what will Kishore and her new parents gain by proving her insanity or is this nothing but her mind playing tricks on her.

Jageera Singh has always lived a life of crime, drinking alcohol, and frequenting brothels, although he is married to pregnant Laxmi and has a son named Vikram. On the day of Laxmi's delivery, Jageera is busy molesting young Paro. Laxmi gives birth to a daughter, Jyoti, who is subsequently abducted. Jageera disappears from Laxmi's life, and she goes to live with a female friend who passes away, leaving Laxmi with the responsibility of also looking after her son, Virendra, aka Veeru. Years later Jageera surfaces and joins forces with smuggler and prominent citizen Bhanupratap. When Police Inspector Vikram's diligence causes problems for Bhanupratap, Jageera offers to kill Vikram, especially when Bhanupratap's niece Priya falls in love and wants to marry Vikram. Two siblings attempt to avenge the death of their father and elder sister. But the sister believes in the law while the brother believes in administering justice himself. Jan Nissar Akhtar Khan works as a Forest Officer, and lives with his wife Zakhiya. One day while on duty he comes across some poachers who were cutting sandal wood trees illegally. When challenged, they retaliate, a struggle ensues, and one of them, Ram Gupta, gets killed. Khan is charged with killing him, tried in Court, and sentenced to several years in prison. His shocked and devastated wife kills herself. Years later, an angry and embittered Khan is released from prison. One day he comes across another young man, Vijay Singh, and finds out that he is struggling with taking vengeance against two men who had traumatized and killed some of his family members, and decides to help him. It is then Khan finds out that Gupta is still alive and decides to kill him, quite dramatically in the same courtroom where he was convicted for his murder. Watch how this action will effect Khan's future, and Vijay's plan for avenging his family.

Kamini and Ravi Verma are in love and plan to get married. Sir Juda wants to take over the vast estate of Ravi, and finds out that he can only do so with the help Kamini. Sir Juda orders Kamini to marry Ravi and thereafter kill him accidentally, and Kamini agrees to do so. After Ravis death, his mother is devastated, and Sir Juda takes over the vast estate. In a strange turn of events, Ravi is reborn as Monty - and grows up to become a popular singer. He visits Ooty for a short holiday where he recollects his previous lifes memories. He later enquires about these memories and reaches the estate where he realizes the reason and motive of his rebirth. Upon realization, he decides to avenge his death and bring back his familys lost glory by putting Kamini and others behind bars. Will Monty succeed in his endeavor?

Vijay, a simpleton and the lookalike of the notorious international criminal Don is hired by D'Silva, to be the mole in Don's gang and report the details of his illegal activities. However, things take a turn for the worse when D'Silva is killed.

During a jail riot instigated by convict Jaggu (Joginder), the Jailer, Arun Mehra's (Dev Anand) life is threatened and another convict, Dinesh (Satish Kaul), risks his life to save Arun. Arun and his mother, Mrs. Mehra (Sulochana) find out that Dinesh is on death-row for killing noted Professor Ashok Verma. Arun does not believe that Dinesh is guilty and so he arranges his escape from prison. As a result Arun has not only the police, including his own father, Inspector General of Police Mehra (Pran) after him on a manhunt but also underworld don Master (Ajit) and his men; and a cold-hearted female assassin (Zeenat Aman) who has reserved two bullets in her gun for Arun and Dinesh. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

An idealistic young man fights against the exploitation of the poor by the rich. He had been at the receiving end of their exploitation when a book actually written by him was credited to a rich man. Anoop (Dharmendra) is a struggling writer. One day he meets with wealthy and beautiful Seema (Hema Malini) and both fall in love. When Seema's brother Rajan Choudhury (Pran) finds out, he is angered and forbids Seema to see Anoop again. On the other hand Anoop's sister, Rekha (Aruna Irani), and Rajan's brother-in-law Mahesh (Mehmood) have also fallen in love with each other. This angers Rajan even more and he turns Mahesh out of his house. Rajan finds out that Anoop has authored a book called "Naya Zamana", and decides to publish it and sell it under his name. Anoop and Seema find out when the book hits the stalls and is a big hit. Rajan is unapologetic. Rajan then tries to evict the poor people living in small tenements with Anoop and his mother (Lalita Pawar), but Anoop and Seema intervene, and as a result Rajan orders the tenements to be burnt secretly by his henchman Sitaram (Jankidas). Anoop is blamed for the destruction and arrested by the police. Seema's dad, Sachin Choudhury (Ashok Kumar) forbids Seema to see Anoop anymore as well as stay away from the poor people's lives. Raju lives with his widowed mother, Janki, in a small town and works as garage mechanic. One day he meets with wealthy Rachna Malhotra, and after a few misunderstandings, both fall in love with each other. When Rachna's guardian, Diwan Mahendranath, finds out he forbids Rachna to ever see Raju again, as well as goes to Raju's house and humiliates his mother, for he wants Rachna to marry his son, Ramesh. An enraged Raju wants to avenge this humiliation and decides to teach Mahendranath a lesson. He enlists the help of his maternal uncle, Chamanlal Kapoor, and together they succeed in fooling Mahendranath and making him give up all his money. In order to get medical treatment for his sister, a brother faces challenges when he is hired to subdue three out-of-control heiresses. Ashok is unable to find employment and is in desperate need of Rs.15000/- to cure his blind sister, Roopa. He then finds employment with wealthy Sarojini Devi who asks him to subdue her out-of-control grand-daughters, Asha, Manju and Anju. He sets about to do so with considerable success but in the process falls in love with Asha. This does not auger well with Sarojini, who fires him, and sets about to get Asha married to London-based Pran. Ashok returns home and finds Roopa missing. Shortly thereafter he finds evidence that she may have killed herself. Ashok and Kishore (Shammi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar respectively) are two room-mates, living in a hostel. While Ashok takes to crime and dishonesty, Kishore is honest to a fault. When Kishore finds that his dad (Rajan Mehra) has been taking bribes, he leaves home angrily. Ashok and he disagree on a number of issues, mainly involving honesty, and both agree to meet each other after a period of three years, and see what life has had an effect for them. Kishore gets into bad company inadvertently, and is unable to free himself, and gets deeper and deeper into crime. While Ashok realizes it is not worthwhile to pursue a criminal career, and becomes a police inspector. Kishore is now known as the notorious Baghi Sitara, and Ashok is assigned the task of apprehending him. The two do not know who the other is. Kishore comes to know of this assignment and his men kidnap Ashok, but Ashok manages to escape. Kishore must kill Ashok in order to carry out his nefarious activities. Gayatridevi wants her son Ashok to marry Sarita, whom she has chosen for him. However, Ashok is in love with Asha. Things take a turn when Ashok loses his eyesight in an accident. She wants Ashok to get married to Sarita, but Ashok does not show any interest in Sarita. In Japan, Ashok meets with Asha and both fall in love. Asha's uncle wants Asha to marry Pran, but Asha does not like Pran and runs away with Ashok. Pran runs down Ashok with his car, and Ashok is hospitalized and may lose his eye-sight. In Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai (1960), Raj Kapoor plays Raju, an innocent and kind-hearted wanderer who unwittingly becomes part of a gang of dacoits. Raju falls in love with Kammo (Padmini), the daughter of the leader of the gang. Raju is persuaded by Kammo and her father that the gang looks out for the interests of the poor. But Raju witnesses a murder on one of the looting sprees and he leaves the gang. Conflict arises when a gang member Raka (Pran) kills the leader and attempts to forcibly marry Kammo. Raju approaches the police for help and finally convinces the gang of dacoits to surrender to the police so that they can reform themselves as respectable members of society.

Allahabad-based Raj Raibahadur lives a wealthy lifestyle with his widowed businessman dad. His mom had passed away, a victim to tuberculosis, compelling his anxious dad to keep him away from the hustle, bustle and pollution associated with cities. As a result Raj ends up in the countryside, involved in the construction of a dam. His dad asks him to commence correspondence with a Riva-based young woman by the name of Chandra Rai, with a view to get him married, to which Raj agrees. The correspondence starts, and even without meeting each other, Chandra and Raj fall in love. They cement they love when they finally meet with each other. When Raj tells him dad, the marriage proposal is put forth, but to Raj's shock and dismay, Chandra rejects him. It is only later that Raj finds out that the woman he had corresponded with was not Chandra, but her younger sister, Neelu. Then the Raibahadur family physician, Dr. Kailash, gives them devastating news that Raj has tuberculosis and is not expected to live too long.
