Raja thinks Sapna is wealthy and successfully woos her and wins her heart, only to find out that she too is on the lookout for a rich prince charming. She thought Raja was the rich, debonair, and eligible bachelor Rahul Saxena. With the help of garage owner, Sattarbhai all three of them concoct a plot to kidnap Rahul Saxena, hold him for ransom, while Raja takes his place. After kidnapping him, Raja does take his place with Rahul's family, his stepmom, Sharda, dad Dhanraj, uncle, aunt, and sweetheart Sona. Sona happens to be the daughter of Raja's mentor K.K., and this arouses anger with K.K. when he finds out that Raja has chosen Sona to seduce. An army major is transferred to a training camp after being blamed by the police for doing their job. However, when the law and order worsens, the police ask him to take over the nation's security. Army major Anand(Mithun Chakraborty), who fights to avoid crimes when there are crime situations, for which he is often blamed by police, stating that the army has no power to fight crimes and it is the duty of the police. Politicians who are backing up crimes transfer him to a training camp with undisciplined cadets, as the head of the camp. There he trains the cadets to become honest soldiers. In a terrible situation in which police could not keep the peace and crimes have overwhelmed the police, the government has no other option other than confining the police to barracks and calling the army to take over the security of the country i.e. forming a Military Raaj (Military controlled state).

Professionally qualified as a lawyer, Somen lives a wealthy lifestyle with his mom, Parvati, and dad, Dharam Bhushan, who presides over the town of Shripuri as an upper caste Hindu Priest. During the Dassera fest, Somen meets with village belle, Kajri, and falls in love with her despite of the fact that she is of a much lower caste. After seeking his mom's permission, he goes to bring Kajri to meet her, but finds out that she has left for an unknown destination. Unable to stand his dad's hypocrisy and Bhagwan Shri Ram's temple being misused by Kedar Nath, Somen leaves home to go to the city but is unable to get Kajri out of his mind. A year later he returns home to the same fest, but is still unable to locate Kajri. When his dad insists that he marry Kedar's daughter, Somen not only refuses but leaves home to go and stay with his paternal uncle, Nandlal, who runs a Dairy farm. This is where he meets with Kajri and both rekindle their romance. Somen returns home, convinces his mom initially to approve of Kajri, and is pleasantly surprised to find that even his dad has given his approval. On the day of the marriage, Somen's world is turned upside down when his dad accuses Kajri of being a woman of ill repute as well as an unwed mother. Raju is a dock worker who always looks out for the welfare and interests of his colleagues and saves them from frauds who are after their hard-earned money. Sheetal is the daughter of businessman Laxminarayan. She runs the company and the factory with an iron hand. Kaajal is her assistant. Sheetal admonishes her staff for being 5 minutes late to their job. Tilak Bhandari (Shakti Kapoor) is the production manager whom she often slaps and insults for trivial issues like production dropping from 50 tons to 49 tons for one day due to 5 workers being on holiday. Sheetal has studied in London and is responsible for turning around a financially sick enterprise into a profit-making machine. It is now the best factory in the entire country. Laxminarayan wants to get Sheetal married but she has already rejected every match that came her way. Laxminarayan is worried that there is no man who can reign in Sheetal. Banobi (Aruna Irani) is the house maid at Laxminarayan's house and has seen Sheetal grow up over the years. Sheetal's competitive attitude and open insults result in her making several enemies in her industry. This includes her immediate rival Suryadev, and his brother Hiravat Bajaj (Paresh Rawal), Suryadev's son Vikram "Vicky" Bajaj (Mohnish Behl) among others. Suryadev was sick of losing contracts to Sheetal, so Hiravat suggests to get Sheetal married to Vikram and this way they would get control over Sheetal's factory. When they bring the marriage proposal home, Sheetal insults Suryadev and Vikram for even thinking about this match. Raju decides to give up his docks job and shift to Bombay to take care of his mother. He needs to find a new job to support his mother. One day Raju on his way to a job interview saves the life of a rich textile mill owner Laxminarayan Jetley (Anupam Kher). The goons were sent by Hiravat to extract their revenge on Sheetal, but Raju intervenes and saves Laxminarayan by taking him to the hospital. Turns out Raju's interview was at Sheetal Industries. Laxminarayan tells Raju to visit the company which is run by his ambitious daughter Sheetal (Sridevi) and says that he will get a job. Previously, Raju ran into Sheetal at the airport and Sheetal believes that he bumped into her on purpose. Sheetal and Raju exchanged insults, and Sheetal already makes her mind about Raju. When Raju arrives at Sheetal's office for his interview, they both recognize each other from the airport. Sheetal throws Raju out of her office. Raju goes back to Laxminarayan who reveals that he is Sheetal's father and the owner of the company. Laxminarayan asks Raju to return to the office and promises that this time he will get a job. Meanwhile Tilak Bhandari joins hands with Suryadev and Hiravat and plots Sheetal's downfall. Suryadev bribes Bhandari to cause accidents inside Sheetal's factory to malign its reputation. Raju gets a job as a mechanic in the mill at a salary of Rs 3200 per month. Raju confronts Sheetal several times to get the workers proper treatment. One time Raju uses Sheetal's car to transport an injured worker to the hospital. Due to Raju's timely action, the worker's arm is saved from being amputated. Sheetal fires Raju but all the mill workers threaten a strike as they believe what Raju did is fair. Sheetal is livid and sets fire to her car as it was covered in blood. Raju's fairness for workers results in him being elected as the union leader. Raju meets Kaajal (Raveena Tandon), who also works in the company, and they fall in love. One day, Raju saves Sheetal's life during an attempt by a competing textile mill owner Suryadev (Prem Chopra) to eliminate her. Raju saves her by pushing her out of the way of an oncoming crane. Though he saves her, Sheetal enrages as Raju touches her and slaps him in front of all workers. Later Raju goes to Sheetal's cabin and slaps her for five times with a cause for each time. Sheetal cannot fire Raju as then she has to tell all of her workmen she was slapped by Raju. For taking revenge, Sheetal wants to win over Raju and makes an offer to marry him. When Raju turns her down, she forces his mom to agree to the marriage. Raju accepts his mom's wishes and decides to sacrifice his love for Kaajal. Sheetal expects Raju to move in with her after their marriage and live in luxury, but Raju refuses and continues to work in the mill. Raju starts to live in Sheetal's house upon her mother's order though he continues his job as a mechanic in mill which is now his own. Raju starts to recognize Sheetal as his wife and starts loving her. Raju also saves Sheetal again when some henchmen of Suryadev try to kill her. When Sheetal thanks Raju for saving her, Raju tells her that he also saves her maid servant also if she is fallen in this kind of situation. Tension arises between Raju and Sheetal, when she fires Kajaal out of jealousy as Sheetal sees Kajaal to visit Raju's house frequently, though Kajaal goes there to take care of Raju's lonely mother only. When labor issues cause the workers to go on strike. The competing mill owner plans to take advantage of the situation and hires goons to set the mill on fire. Raju in his attempt to stop the fire is mistakenly arrested. Raju's mom goes to Sheetal's house to clear matters but is insulted and taunted by Sheetal, and collapses, until Raju arrives to save his mother and slaps Sheetal for taking it out on his mother and breaks his ties with her. A guilty Sheetal who truly is in love with Raju decides to kill herself until the rival mill owners kidnap and decide to kill her themselves, until Raju arrives to save her life. Also, she becomes a good wife to Raju and both of them lives happily ever after with each other love in Raju's house. Sheetal improves herself. Kajal turns managing director of her company, as Sheetal quits her job.

Radha (Pooja Bhatt) and Manohar (Vivek Mushran) love each other and want to get married, but Radha's dad (Ashok Saraf) does not approve of their marriage as Manohar comes from a poor family. He instructs Radha not to leave the house, but Radha finds a way to escape and goes to Manohar's house. Anticipating more obstacles, they run away, guided by Radha's uncle Natwarlal(Prem Chopra). Natwarlal convinces them that they must kidnap a wealthy person and demand a big ransom and take the money to appease Radha's dad. Bharti and Vijay find out that Ashok has vital documents that will lead to India being taken over by a foreign power, and they decide to put a stop to this. Before they could do anything, Vijay is killed. When Bharti confronts her parents, resulting in arguments, which lead to a physical struggle, resulting in the death of Sharda, and Bharti shooting Ashok to death. Bharti takes the documents and runs away to distant Ooty in a bid to escape the murder charge and bring the documents to the appropriate authorities. But Ashok's associates find out and she becomes their target, she hires a bodyguard named Jamliya, who proves to be unreliable. Bharti will now find that her worst nightmare comes true when a couple claiming to be her mom and dad surface out of nowhere, backed up by none other than her very own paternal uncle, Kishore Bhandari. The motive to prove her insane. But the question remains what will Kishore and her new parents gain by proving her insanity or is this nothing but her mind playing tricks on her.

One day he comes across another young man, Vijay Singh, and finds out that he is struggling with taking vengeance against two men who had traumatized and killed some of his family members, and decides to help him. It is then Khan finds out that Gupta is still alive and decides to kill him, quite dramatically in the same courtroom where he was convicted for his murder. This changes when they meet and are influenced by Kabir Das, and decide to go straight. They find that it's virtually impossible to earn a living as honest citizens. Then Kabir Das is arrested and imprisoned by a murder he claims he did not commit, and the duo promise to help him, and find out who the real killer is, but they themselves end up getting in trouble.

Thakur Chandrabhan lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small village in India. He is widowed and lives with his sister; a widowed daughter-in-law, Saraswati; and a grand-daughter, Tara, who is of marriageable age. Also living in this household is Bholanath, who is blind since birth, and helps with household chores. Tara's marriage is arranged with a young man, Pratap Singh, from a noble family, who approves of Tara, but demands a dowry of 3 Lakh Rupees. Chandrabhan does not have this much money, but Bholanath has been stashing away cash, that is guarded by a snake, and offers all of it to Pratap, who accepts it and absconds. Blind Bhola is unable to pursue him, but is instead bitten by the snake, regains his vision and sets forth to Bombay to locate Pratap. Several weeks later, Bholanath returns home, just in time to be told that he must marry Tara, as she refuses to marry anyone else. Tara notices something very odd about Bholanath as he calls her "Tara', not as "Little Mistress" as he used to; he is terrified of snakes; and seems more cultured and educated. The family decides to get the two engaged, however, the ceremony is interrupted by the arrival of the police, who have an arrest warrant for Bholanath for Theft, and Murder of a young woman named Lucy. Geeta is a girl from a well to do family and is well educated, her parents had brought up her with traditional values and respect for those values. After her graduation, her parents decide to marry her off with Ratan Chowdhury, the son of a zaminder, who had the mind frame that a highly educated wife would be incapable of handling and managing a home, specially in a joint family. Later he marries Geeta but his mentality and the talk of others stop him from accepting her. He disowns her and poor Geeta has to go back to her parents' house. Even after lot of insistence from her parents and friends she refuses to remarry. Instead she continues her studies to become a doctor. After garnering a degree in medical science she goes back to Ratan's village as Vidya. She wants to clear the wrong perceptions that Ratan has about her. Ratan couldn't recognise her, as he had not even seen her face, even during marriage. He falls in love with Vidya and intends to marry her, but one day during the annual cart race, Ratan meets with an accident and suffers a very bad injury post which needs surgery. Due to unavailability of any other doctor, Geeta has to do the job. She performs it successfully. Will Ratan accept Geeta in her new avataar?
