This incident is followed by several other tiger attacks, and many deaths result, prompting National Geographic to send a correspondent, Krish Thapar (John Abraham) to the national park and ascertain what really happened. Thapar is accompanied by his wife Riya (Esha Deol). Bashir Khan (Parmeet Sethi) is the forest officer suspected of facilitating poaching in all National Parks that he is assigned to. A group of youngsters, consisting of Dev Malhotra (Vivek Oberoi), his girlfriend Ishika (Lara Dutta), Sajid (Kushal Punjabi) and Vishal (Vishal Malhotra), are on a hunting trip in the hopes of sighting and shooting some big prey. The youngsters' car breaks down (After Dev hits a black cat which Ishika considers very very bad luck). Bagga (Vineet Sharma), a passing by driver, gives them a lift to the farmhouse they were heading towards. Bagga convinces the group to head towards the Orbit National Park for some big game hunting. Bagga tells them that venturing into the core area of the jungle is prohibited and is very dangerous. Bagga's car accidentally hits Krish's, which also breaks down and is at the middle of the road. The two groups decide to travel together in Bagga's car, leaving a mechanic repairing Krish's car. Just a few seconds they set off, the mechanic disappears, and they believe a tiger just took him away and decide not to risk their lives to look for him. Bagga finds them a place to stay -- a guesthouse owned by Pandey (Daya Shankar Pandey). Pandey is a guide who agrees to lead them the next day to the core area, where tigers live, for hunting. Pandey disappears the very night and his body is found in the wild the next day by Bashir Khan, with his head chopped off. Krish starts to be suspicious about the real cause of the recent rising deaths in the jungle, as he is an animal expert and recognizes Pandey is not killed by a tiger or any animal. Warned by Bashir Khan and scared, the group decide to leave the jungle. Before they depart, they find Sajid missing, again not by an animal. Dev, close friend to Sajid, assumes the latter is going to the core area alone for hunting. However, the group decide to leave without Sajid. Expectedly, Sajid joins the series of mystery deaths and is found with his head chopped off. The rest are soon confronted by three tigers on the way. Kaali Pratap Singh (Ajay Devgan), who claims to live in the jungle, saves them from the upcoming tiger attack. On their continued way out of the jungle, they find the road is blocked by rocks due to the landslide caused by rain. Kaali shows up again and agrees to lead them out of the jungle. On the way the car has a minor accident when Bagga cant take his foot off the gas pedal. The group is forced to take a break while Bagga repairs the vehicle. Kaali appears to be very knowledgeable about the jungle. Krish, who is now more curious about the mysterious deaths, asks him if he knows what's behind those deaths. Kaali answers that there was a mad guide in this jungle, who always led tourists to wrong places to make them killed by animals (he did this as he didn't like the exploitation of animals and forests by humans and wanted humans to learn a lesson). Angry villagers later found about it and beat him to death. But his spirit -- the ghost -- remains in the jungle and keeps killing tourists. But none of them believe Kaali's story. Bagga later disappears when repairing his car, rising the fear among the rest. Vishal is also killed by their car explosion a few moments later (the group tries to cross a small wooden bridge to get to the other side, but the car gets stuck and leaks gasoline. Vishal acts weird and refuses to get out of the car and is blown away when a stray cigarette that he threw in the water, ignites the fuel). The rest carry on and reach a deserted guesthouse in the evening, outside which there is a well. All go to sleep after being warned by Kaali not to get close to the well. Riya wakes up thirsty in the night. She decides to get water from the well despite Kaali's warning, and is later accidentally hung by her foot in the well and dies. The rest figure out Riya's death and try to pull out her body, while Dev suddenly realizes that Kaali does not have a reflection in well's water. He also sees that Kaali is not visible in any of the videos that had been recorded by Vishal so far. He realizes that the story Kaali told them is true and he is the ghost referred in the story. Dev makes an excuse to push Kaali off and convinces the others that Kaali is a ghost. They decide to escape from Kaali. They encounter several accidents on their way out of the jungle, apparently arranged by Kaali, but finally manage to escape. Krish now knows what's behind those mysterious deaths but he is not going to tell anyone because no one is going to believe him. Meanwhile in the jungle, Kaali keeps killing tourists.

When a conversation about love arises (Sheetal was reading a fictional novel on love and believes that such idealist love does not exist in the real world), Deepak and the rest find it necessary to make Sheetal aware that true love does exist. They tell her the story of Raj (Shahrukh Khan) and Priya (Rani Mukerji), two of their closest friends. Raj Mathur is the owner of Raj Transport, a small trucking company he founded himself. Raj is a carefree man who is unorganized, messy, lazy and late all the time. Raj is forgetful, misses appointments, cannot keep track of his commitments to his customers, and pretends to them that he has a very sophisticated and high-technology intensive operation, in reality his business is managed by his uneducated employees. Although he isn't the richest, he's always happy. On the other hand, Priya Chopra is a successful fashion designer whose family is quite wealthy. Priya, originally from Greece, lives with her aunt Anna (Lilette Dubey), who wants to give her the best in life (wealth and success). Priya has her life all planned out, the complete opposite of Raj. These two completely different people meet in a car accident, when Priya crashes her car into Raj's truck. It was clearly Priya's fault, even then she blames Raj for the accident. Unfortunately, she does not apply the parking brake on her car while arguing with Raj, and it rolls and falls into a ditch. Raj has to tow Priya's car to the next garage. Though the two get off to a rocky start, they meet again at the wedding of Salim and Farah (Meghna Malik), eventually becoming friends. Priya apologizes to Raj for her misbehavior and for assuming that Raj is a truck driver on the basis of his clothes. The two arrange to meet again and slowly fall in love. Raj takes Priya on a truck ride with him and together they explore the rural India, something that Priya had never experienced in her sterile urban life. Raj receives Priya's phone number but carelessly loses it when he gives his shirt for laundry (and the piece of paper with the number on it was inside the shirt pocket). He then sets out to find her and find her. Raj lives with his uncle Manubhai Marfatiya (Satish Shah) and Aunt Savita (Jayshree T.). Raj cannot ask Farah as she is on her honeymoon. Raj goes to the traffic intersection (close her to home) where he dropped Priya and Priya gave her number to Raj across the road. He asks the traffic cop and all the nearby shops if they remember the number. Eventually Raj starts singing, gathers a huge crowd, causes a traffic jam and finally finds Priya who was also stuck in the traffic jam. Raj tells Priya that he has been searching for her for 20 days. However, Raj learns that Priya is engaged to Sameer (Jas Arora). Priya says that she likes Raj, but her engagement was fixed in the last week, when her father called with a proposal. Priya is marrying her childhood friend Sameer, whom she knows very well. Desperate, he follows Priya to Greece, where he continues to woo her. Raj promises Priya that he will wake her up daily with a song and put her to bed with a lullaby. Priya and Raj are on the same flight, and reach Greece, but their connecting flight to Athens is delayed by 8 hours, giving them time together in the city. When it's time to part company, Priya realizes that she is in love with Raj. They get married after persuading Priya's parents (Father Kishore (Rajeev Verma)), and arrive in Mumbai, where Raj welcomes Priya into their home. He then makes an oath to his holy talisman, wishing it to protect Priya if he is not around, because he loves her immensely. Back to the bowling alley in the present: Sheetal is in tears, for she has never heard a more beautiful story. Salim arrives along with Farah and announce that today was Raj and Priya's first wedding anniversary, so they were planning a surprise party. Excited, Sheetal can't wait to meet the famous Raj and Priya, but when they do arrive, they're nothing like what they seemed. A year has changed both Raj and Priya, and the two can't stop arguing. When they do find some common ground and happiness, it doesn't last long. Raj feels the pressure to meet the expectations of Priya's family and is struggling financially. His company has gone bankrupt, and he has many bills and loans to pay. When he is insulted by a bank official, he returns home crying. Priya cannot stand to see her husband in this state, and resorts to asking her former fiance for money. When Raj asks her about the source of money, she lies. But when he throws a celebration party, he learns the truth. Angry at Priya, he becomes destructive, and Priya, heartbroken, runs away to her parents. Raj, realizing his error, goes after Priya, only to be insulted by her family. Priya decides to leave India because she can't stay with Raj but can't stay without him. When Raj is informed of this, he races to the airport to stop Priya, just as he did the year before. He says he will change and that he has a dream of the two of them starting a family together. Although Priya expresses that she has the same dream, she feels it is impossible for them to be together, so she boards the plane. Giving up, Raj remembers his oath and sends his talisman to Priya. When Priya receives the talisman, she too recalls Raj's confession. Raj returns home to find Priya waiting for him. She says that the only way to make their dream come true is to be together. In a playful manner, the two get into another argument but they say that this is how they express their love.

Read more →The story is about two friends and cops, Javed Abbas (Jackie Shroff) and Arun Verma (Shahrukh Khan), who are both Special Task Force officers and partners. Javed is a widower who is bringing up his 4 children (Fatima Sana Shaikh is one of the kids) with a lot of love and effort while Arun is his carefree, hotheaded, trigger-happy albeit well-meaning subordinate and brother-like friend. Arun doesn't like Javed's four children, just like he doesn't like any kid, nor do the four children like him and they keep playing pranks on Arun whenever they meet him. Champak (Dilip Joshi) is Arun's friend from college and stays with him in his house. KKV (Krishan Kant Virmani) (Nirmal Pandey) is a local drug lord that the entire police department have always been desperate to bring him to justice. But due to KKV's broad connection in the police department, nobody ever manages to find any solid proof against him. Bipasha (Sahila Chadha), Inspector Sawant (Raj Zutshi) and Inspector Rajendra (Suresh Chatwal) are also part of Javed's team. With the help of an informer, police catch KKV's group red handed while he is dealing drugs. But later someone replaces the drugs detained from KKV with sugar, making KKV released, which makes it very clear that someone in the police department is working for KKV. The Police Commissioner (Akash Khurana) is eager to find out that traitor. Javed figures out that someone switched the drug packets from KKV's raid with sugar packets and knows that this was an inside job. Geeta (Juhi Chawla) is Javed's friend. Once she meets Arun and falls in love with him at the first sight, but Arun shows no special interest in her and always avoids her. While on a subsequent drug raid (Which Arun and Javed lead together. Javed had given his bullet proof jacket to Arun before the raid), Javed is shot dead by an unknown assailant (who knew Javed and attacked him while he was alone). Before the mission, Javed wrote a letter to Arun, asking Arun to take care of his four kids if he cannot survive. As Javed's best friend, in spite of not liking kids, Arun decides to adopt Javed's children, instead of sending them to an orphanage. Arun also engages with Geeta so that he can have her helping him taking care of those children. Arun also develops his feeling for Geeta gradually. Arun's life becomes difficult as his salary is not enough to support so many people. In a visit to KKV's club to warn him, Arun unexpectedly finds that Geeta is the dancer at that club. Arun becomes angry with Geeta, not only because he thinks bar dancer is a filthy job, but also because he thinks Geeta has long been cheating him by pretending to be decent. When he returns home later, he confronts Geeta and questions her for that, but the children all say that Geeta was with them all day, making Arun have to believe that the bar dancer is another person that simply looks like Geeta. Arun has to back off when the kids allege that maybe Arun was the one who shot Javed, but there is no proof of that. Arun is asked to vacate Javed's government flat as that is for serving police officers only. Under the pressure of living, Arun robs KKV. He takes a big amount of money from KKV, which he knew was dirty money, and buys a big house for his family. Arun gets arrested immediately, not for the robbery, but however for illegal drug possession (The same drugs that went missing from police possession while Javed was investigating the case). He is charged with being KKV's spy as police identifies that the drugs found in his house belongs to KKV. Obviously, Arun is trapped by someone, but he does not know who trapped him. In the court. Geeta also testifies against Arun, however, not as his fiance, but as a secret police officer who worked at KKV's bar -- yes, the bar dancer whom Arun saw before -- and the witness of Arun's robbery. Arun is therefore suspended from duty until further trial. Arun now does not believe anyone anymore; he decides to find the killer of Javed and the spy for KKV by his own. He questions a police officer (the guy in charge of the evidence locker room from where the KKV drugs were stolen in the first place) at his home, whom he believes to be corrupted. The officer admits he is a spy for KKV, but follows the order of JD, another police officer. He also says he does not know who killed Javed, but JD does. Arun kills him and heads for JD's house. On his way to JD's house, Arun calls Geeta for help, who was with the Police Commissioner when answering the phone call. With the permission of the Commissioner, Geeta joins Arun to question JD, only to find JD was killed right before they arrive. They believe the Police Commissioner is the spy as he is the only third person that knows they are heading for JD. Arun rushes to the Police Commissioner's house and thrashes him, but the latter denies being a spy for KKV. Geeta goes to CBI Chief's Diwakar (Keith Stevenson) house to report the situation, who is the superior of the Police Commissioner, but she finds KKV is in the Chief's house with him, making her immediately realize the Chief is the real spy as he might have known the plan from the Commissioner. The Chief and KKV try to kill Geeta, but she manages to escape. Geeta visits Arun and the Commissioner and tells them her findings about the Chief. The Commissioner is shocked to know that, and he knows that the Chief is going to leave the country very soon. They arrive at the airport to stop the Chief from leaving. During the gunfight at the airport, KKV kills the Chief when taking him as a hostage and inspector Sawant (Raj Zutshi) kills KKV and gets killed by Arun, who reveals himself as the killer of Javed at the final scene.

The Chief Minister Mushran also uses Ajay to conduct scripted interviews for his party leaders like MK Sharma to improve their public image and divert public attention from the criminal cases pending against them. Ajay is attracted to Ria and tries to seduce her. But Ria is approached one of Ajay's ex-girlfriends Shalini who reveals that Ajay is a flirt and a cheat and changes girlfriends frequently. She tells Ria about Ajay's diary which has a list of all the girl's phone numbers and his schedule of meeting them. The next time Ajay meets her, Ria records the contents of his diary with a camera hidden inside her purse. Ria contacts all the women to confront Ajay at the same time, and the takes Ajay's slot to interview MK Sharma. Ria finds that MK Sharma lives a life of opulence inside the prison. This expose explodes on the news channel and takes Ria's channel to the top of the ratings. Now, Ajay is under pressure to being his channel back to the top. Pappu Junior/Choti (Johnny Lever) is a don who is soon to be ousted from his own gang, owing to his inability to make it big in the crime world. Ajay approaches Choti with an offer: arrange a fake attack on opposition leader Ramakant Dua's (Shakti Kapoor) brother-in-law Madanlal Gupta on national TV. Choti will earn respect & Ajay's channel will gain TRP. Little does Ajay know that the plan is going to turn too real. Madanlal Gupta is gunned down by an assailant named Mohan Joshi (Paresh Rawal). When Ajay learns that he was not Choti's man, he panics. Ria learns about Ajay & Choti's deal, but they decide to help each other nevertheless. Mohan is arrested but does not open his mouth even once during police torture. To avoid any public unrest, the Police Commissioner (Anjan Srivastav) declares that Mohan is a terrorist working for unknown terror organizations. Minister Ramakant takes advantage of his brother-in-law's death to gain votes and sympathy; he also instigates a pogrom to ensure his position in the government. Meanwhile, Mohan somehow escapes out of jail. As the news of the incident begins circulating around India, violent protests begin. Ajay and Ria both start covering the city's riots and start to get along with one another; Ajay's womanizing nature had previously turned off Ria and caused friction between them. Ajay & Ria are fighting over the matter in their car, unaware that Mohan is hiding in the same car. Mohan accosts them, where Ajay accuses him of being a terrorist. Mohan has an angry outburst & tells him that he is not a terrorist. Mohan goes on to narrate his story. Mohan has an ailing wife Laxmi Joshi (Neena Kulkarni) & a now-dead daughter Kavita. Mohan says that his daughter went to an interview for a secretarial job at Madanlal Gupta's office, where the latter sexually assaulted her. She died from the trauma and as no lawyer was willing to fight the case due to the perpetrator's political power, Mohan was left helpless, running from door to door for justice. Hopeless and distraught, he took the law into his own hands and killed Madanlal. Ajay & Ria are shaken by his confession & decide to help Mohan. Throughout their journey together, Mohan sees Ajay and Ria as his own children and feels genuine gratefulness towards them, returning the favor by helping them realize their love for each other. Eventually, Ajay and Ria reunite Mohan with his wife, who is extremely happy to see him. Ajay hands over the video tape of this confession to his boss Kaka (Satish Shah). Unfortunately, Ramakant Dua has joined hands with his rival Chief Minister Mushran (Govind Namdeo) as he fears that their secrets might come out if Mohan surrenders. Similarly, Ajay's boss forms an alliance with Ria's boss Shenoy (Dalip Tahil) after knowing about the tape. The ministers & channel heads come together and trick Ajay & Ria into giving the tape to them with no intention of giving it back, for their own selfish reasons. Mohan gets found, and after being arrested, is sentenced to be publicly hung; Ajay and Ria suddenly realized they were tricked and conned by their bosses. Together with Choti, they work to get the tape back from the clutches of the minister. They successfully receive the tape, and Ajay succeeds in broadcasting the confession and story from Mohan just one hour before his execution. Ajay and Ria tearfully plead with the nation to stop this injustice and call on all Indians to rescue Mohan. They succeed, and the entire city, including Ajay's family, gathers to save Ajay from being tortured by the police and save Mohan. Although the ministers and policemen are desperate to stop the protesters from entering prison grounds, the ACP's force is unable to shoot at the crowd due to them wielding India's flag; they are unable to stop the city from breaching the police barricades. In a blatant mockery and critique of the media's selfish obsession with ratings and views, Mohan is made to wear a shirt sporting the logos of sponsors and companies. Seconds before the execution, Ajay having stormed into the prison ground with Ria and the others, saves Mohan and the protesters beat up the politicians and chase them out, ensuring their careers are over. Mohan thanks everyone and Ria proposes to Ajay, who accepts.

Katariya restores him to health, by nursing him and taking care of him affectionately. After his recovery, Hari learns that he has been officially declared dead by the British Government, after a rescue mission failed to find his body. He takes this opportunity to start a new life in his beloved India, marrying Katariya, whom he has fallen in love with. Katariya soon becomes pregnant with Hari's child. The happiness does not last for long, as a fire breaks out at their house during a Diwali celebration, mortally wounding Hari and Katariya, who both die shortly after the delivery of their son, Nandlal Mayur aka Nandu. At the time, Bijuriya is only a child, and so the hospital authorities along with Lawyer Madadgar, decide to give the newborn child up for adoption. Bijuriya would not agree to this, and runs away from the hospital, taking Nandu with her. Bijuriya sacrifices her own education to raise Nandu, doing many things to earn money to feed him. As Bijuriya grows up, she becomes a beautiful woman and gets a job as a bar dancer. Nandu (James Bond Singh) has grown up to be a toddler. Bheema Khalasi is a local goon who has his evil eye on Bijuriya. Eight years later, Vikram Mayur (Shah Rukh Khan), Gopal's younger son, who also holds a negative view on India, has succeeded his father as the president, chairman and owner of his family industries. He soon becomes a successful and wealthy industrialist. Lawyer Madadgar (Saeed Jaffrey), a family friend of Bijuriya and Katariya, watches an interview of Vikram on television, and realizes that he is Hari's younger brother and Nandu's uncle. Madadgar knows that Hari never revealed the origin of his family and hence is not sure what sort of family enmity exists. He decides not to tell Bijuriya about Vikram. Madadgar plots to bring him to India, in order to take away both Bijuriya and Nandu with him. He files a case against Hari stating that Hari defrauded a local Indian and serves the summons to Vikram in London. Vikram is livid and decides to defend the honor of his dead brother. Vikram to come to Mumbai, to sort out the matter. Vikram learns that his brother survived the plane crash and lived in India for two years, during which he was married and had a son, before his actual death with his wife. Vikram believes that his brother's son is the next generation of their family industry, and so he should be taken back to London. Madadgar support this as Nandu's future will be set as the heir of a multi-million dollar business empire. Bijuriya, who dearly loves Nandu and does not want to part with him, objects to this. Bijuriya realizes that if Vikram goes to court, she will lose Nandu forever, and so she pretends to be Queen Rani Devi, who is Nandu's guardian. She pretends that she is a rich lady, and that Vikram has come to India to get money from Rani Devi in exchange for relinquishing any legal rights over Nandu. Vikram falls for her charade and slowly falls in love with her. Bijuriya ensures that Vikram never comes to her humble abode to keep the charade going. Vikram decides to take a ferry to the Island where Rani is supposed to be living but finds no palace. He gets stuck on the Island when the last ferry for the day leaves. Vikram meets Nandu, who takes him to a local hotel to spend the night. Vikram decides to drink a few beers and ends up at the same bar where Bijuriya performs her dance shows. Vikram realizes that there is no Rani Devi, and the woman is an ordinary bar dancer. Vikram decides to take his nephew back with him immediately. The nephew, who detests his newfound uncle and adores his aunt like a mother figure, protests this, but Vikram remains adamant. Vikram gets lawyers to issue summons to Bijuriya to allow Nandu to meet him while the custody battle is being settled. Nandu is dazzled with the wealth and the material possessions of Vikram and detests his poverty with Bijuriya. Vikram spares no expense in giving Nandu a taste of his future life. Nandu tells Vikram that he cannot leave without getting Bijuriya married. Vikram files a claim in court that Bijuriya is not a fit guardian for Nandu, but Madadgar tries to defuse the situation. He tells Bijuriya that Vikram is seduced by her and tells Vikram that Bijuriya has feelings for him. He gets both to meet each other. Vikram makes an elaborate plan to get Bijuriya kidnapped by hired goons, so he can rescue her and show her real face to Nandu. Meanwhile Bheema also sends his goons to capture Bijuriya to satiate his lust. Bheema's goons get there first, and Vikram fights them, thinking those are the goons that he hired. As a result, Bijuriya also falls in love with Vikram. Nandu sees this and is happy as Bijuriya will get married and leave her disgusting life and profession behind. But Vikram refutes that he loves Bijuriya and Nandu believes that Vikram is also another one of the exploiting goons who only pretend to like Bijuriya for her body. Since Nandu is missing, Bijuriya confronts Vikram. Vikram tells the truth to Bijuriya about Nandu and how he does odd jobs to gather money for Bijuriya's wedding and to get her to leave her disrespectful profession. Bijuriya finds Nandu and forces him to go with Vikram after getting to know that Nandu misses school and does petty jobs to earn money to marry off Bijuriya. Bijuriya pretends that she never loved Nandu, and only took care of him so she could cash him when the right time came. Nandu is distraught and runs to Vikram. Vikram and Nandu bring a briefcase full of cash to Bijuriya along with a legal document that says that Bijuriya renounces all legal rights over Nandu. Bijuriya is heartbroken but continues with the charade. Bijuriya signs the document. Bijuriya is forcibly taken to sleep with a goon Bheema Khalasi (Kiran Kumar), who had his eyes on her. When Vikram learns about this (and that Bijuriya had returned all the money that Vikram has given her), he comes to the hideout just before Bheema Khalasi is about to sexually assault Bijuriya. Vikram overpowers the goon and saves Bijuriya. Vikram is convinced that Bijuriya will be the best parent for his nephew. Vikram marries Bijuriya and takes her and his nephew back with him.

Roop and his father immediately transfer to Bombay, where Roop goes to find work in a hotel owned by Ajay Narang (Naseeruddin Shah), where his friend Chandu also works as a waiter. Ajay dotes on his sister Reshma and her happiness means everything to him. Ajay had a partnership with Minister KK Singh (Anant Jog), but Ajay beat him up mercilessly when one day KK Singh put his evil eye on Reshma. Roop manages to enter Reshma's birthday party and starts singing. Ajay and Reshma are enthralled by his voice. Ajay's sister Reshma (Ramya Krishnan) falls in love with Roop. Reshma is a spoiled girl and Ajay sees through all of her wishes. Upon Reshma's recommendation, Ajay hires Roop to sing at his hotel. Roop is over the moon and indebted to Reshma, due to which he will be able to pay for Shambu's treatment. Roop meets Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) when she saves his life from a road accident at night, when she was going home from the hospital. Roop doesn't know her name or address. But Shambhu meets Pooja in the hospital, where she is a nurse, and immediately like her as his future daughter-in-law. Shambu decides to meet Pooja's maternal uncle (Avtar Gill), brother (Razak Khan) and paternal uncle (Amrit Patel) to ask for her hand for Roop. They all agree if Pooja consents to the marriage. Roop keeps running into Pooja in Bombay and even Pooja starts liking him. They both are shy to admit their feelings to each other, and Roop still doesn't know Pooja's name. Pooja realizes that Roop is Shambu's son, and that Shambu wants to marry her to Roop. The next day Roop also finds out that Pooja is the girl that Shambu wants him to marry. Meanwhile, Reshma becomes obsessed with Roop. When she sees that all the girls are flattered over Roop, she gets very jealous and asks him to sing only for her now from then on-wards. Roop realizes that Reshma is obsessed with him and decides to leave. Roop prefers to work for Ajay's rival, Patel (Shrivallabh Vyas), rather than take Reshma's offer. Ajay's obsession with keeping his sister happy at all costs comes into play and Patel is brutally beaten by him until he agrees to throw Roop out of his hotel. Turns out this is the 2nd time Reshma has been obsessed with someone. Ajay remembers the time many years ago when Reshma went through the same symptoms when she fell in love with someone. Shambu's situation gets worse when the tumor bursts after he eats betel leaf. Now, he must be operated upon, and he needs to arrange money for it within 24 hours. Desperately in need of money for his father's operation, Roop has no option but to work for Reshma and Ajay. Reshma slowly becomes creepily obsessed towards Roop, treating anyone that stands in the way of her love towards him. Ajay reveals to Roop that many years ago Reshma was happily married. The one day, she found that her husband had cheated on her, and she started crying. Ajay could not tolerate that, and he killed her husband by smashing his head into the wall. He warns Roop never to make Reshma cry. Shambunath's undergoes an operation, which goes well, but seeing Roop extremely unhappy with his new life, which saddens Shambu. To protect Pooja and his family, Roop decides it is best to break up with Pooja, despite her efforts to console him. Pooja tells Roop that he did the right thing to save his father. To help Roop get over her, she decides to marry colony boy Raja (Pankaj Berry) who is in love with Pooja. Shambu is disappointed with Roop and says that he was better off dead. Roop is shaken and decides to leave Reshma. He goes to Pooja's wedding and expresses his love for her. Pooja refuses to reconsider, but Raja comes forward and reunites the lovers, relinquishing his claim on Pooja. Roop later tries to leave Bombay himself, along with his father and Pooja, but his plans are interrupted when Reshma tries to commit suicide, causing Ajay to have an outburst of anger. Nevertheless, Pooja and Roop get married. Frustrated with such a turn of events, Reshma and her brother devise a plan to make their lives miserable. After tracking Roop, Shambunath, and Pooja down, Ajay puts Roop's father on gallows and a rope tied around his neck with Roop on his feet, leaves with Pooja, and asks Roop to save Pooja or his father. Although Roop refuses to leave his father in such a horrible situation, Roop's father kicks him, sacrificing himself so that he could save Pooja and his son could be happy. Roop sets out to save Pooja, which brings him to a party Ajay is throwing at his hotel. Roop crashes Ajay's party where Pooja is being held hostage. Ajay and Roop begin to fight and brawl, during which Reshma threatens to kill Pooja if Roop doesn't stop fighting with her brother. Ajay then tries to shoot Roop, but Pooja, who just sees him, pushes Roop out of the way and Reshma gets shot, getting killed. He is referred to as "Footpath" and he earns a living by doing odd jobs around the slum. One day, he sadly asks a priest what his name is, to which the priest answers "Ram Jaane" (Ram knows), which the boy accepts as his name. Ram Jaane has a crush on schoolgirl Bela, but she dislikes him as Ram Jaane is a goon and a good for nothing. Ram Jaane's friend Murli also has feelings for Bela, but Ram Jaane threatens him that Bela only belongs to him. Ram Jaane and his friend Murli (Vivek Mushran) are caught stealing from a train by a corrupt police officer, Chewte (Puneet Issar). Chewte brutally beats Ram Jaane in jail, but Ram Jaane manages to escape from the remand home. Murli tells Ram that Bela has been sent to boarding school by her uncle Daddu (Deven Verma) and he plans to marry her off to a rich guy at the right age. Murli also says that the priest has enrolled him in school. Years later, Ram Jaane (Shah Rukh Khan) is working under Sameer Sanvla (Tinnu Anand). Ram Jaane started working with Sanvla to earn money, so that he could marry Bela when she returned. Sanvla's biggest rival is Mirchi (Amritpal). Ram Jaane attacks and takes out Mirchi's entire gang in a single strike. Technicolor is Sanvla's 2nd in command in the gang and is jealous of Ram Jaane's rise in the organization. Technicolor makes a deal with Mirchi to betray Sanvla for Rs 1 Crores and a cut in the business. Then, Technicolor makes a deal with Chewte to kill Mirchi and this way Technicolor will become the undisputed don of the city. Ram Jaane thwarts Technicolor's plans when he sees Mirchi coming and kills him. But Chewte reaches the location and kills Sanvla. Ram Jaane attempts to kill Chewte, but he is again put in jail and brutally assaulted. Technicolor comes to prison to meet Ram Jaane and asks Ram not to rat him out. He also promises to hand over Sanvla's territories to Ram Jaane when he is released from prison. Ram Jaane turns state witness and helps the Government nab smuggled goods worth several Crores. As a result, he is sentenced to 4 years in prison. When released from prison, Ram Jaane is taken by Murli to "Apna Ghar", a home that Murli has set up for the homeless. Murli believes that this is the best way to reform Ram Jaane, showing the difference between Murli and Ram Jaane and how they turned out. It is at Apna Ghar where Ram Jaane is reunited with his childhood friend Bela (Juhi Chawla), whom he is in love with. Bela is uncomfortable around Ram Jaane, as she only sees lust in his eyes. She avoids spending time alone with Ram Jaane and prefers Murli. Bela is in love with Murli, but Murli insists that he is not in love with her. Chewte has his eyes on Murli whom he accuses of illegally occupying government land worth several Crores in the guise of the orphanage. Ram Jaane reaches out to Technicolor and demands his cut in the business. Technicolor says that the business is now owned by Bhau and promises to revert. Ram Jaane asks for Rs 1 Crores, and Technicolor's Mercedes in the meantime. Technicolor sends his goons to kill Ram Jaane, but he sees them coming and kills them instead. Ram Jaane then collects his Rs 1 Crores from Bhau by threatening to kill Technicolor. Chewte works for Bhau. Chewte arrests Ram Jaane but has to release him when Technicolor tells Bhau that Ram Jaane has all papers related to their bank scam which can send them to jail. However, even in Apna Ghar, Ram Jaane remains a criminal and even manages to influence the children in the house to follow in his footsteps. Apna Ghar is soon targeted by Baweja (G.P. Singh), a criminal property developer with a vendetta for Ram Jaane, who encourages his gang to attack Apna Ghar and all its residents, which Ram Jaane is able to stop. Ram Jaane learns that the goons were working on the instructions of Technicolor. Baweja had paid Bhau and Technicolor Rs 10 Crores to get the land vacated. Ram Jaane warns Technicolor to stay away from Apna Ghar, but now Technicolor alleges that Ram Jaane is interfering with business, in which he is a partner with Bhau. Ram Jaane is then seen shooting Baweja in the head. Chewte learns of Baweja's death and is determined to have his murderer put in prison. He approaches Apna Ghar and starts beating one of the children, which leads to Murli and the others attacking Chewte and his fellow officers. In the riot, one child (14-year-old Poltu) gets killed. Murli blames Ram Jaane for this tragedy and Ram Jaane runs away. He attempts to make Bela run away with him (as he believes she loves him), but she refuses. Bela is, in fact, in love with Murli - Murli realized this all along and reciprocated her feelings but did not show it as he realized that Ram Jaane also loved her. Murli begs Bela to attempt to reform Ram Jaane. However, whilst trying to reform him, Bela begins to dislike him for his criminal ways. Ram Jaane sends money to Murli to support Apna Ghar, but Murli refuses to use any proceeds of crime for his charity work. Bela tells Ram Jaane that Murli has been sacrificing his own love, as he believes that he owes his life to Ram Jaane. She says Murli hoped that Bela would be able to turn Ram Jaane into a better human being. Murli goes to the media on the corruption between Chewte, Bhau, Technicolor and Ram Jaane. Bhau and Technicolor want to kill Murli, but Ram Jaane warns them to keep off. Bhau (Gulshan Grover), Ram Jaane's rival and Technicolor (Pankaj Kapur), Ram Jaane's former partner in crime hatch a plot to kill Ram Jaane. When he hears of their plan, he kills them both and then rushes to Apna Ghar to stop their henchmen from killing anyone. Eventually, Chewte arrives on the scene but is shot by Ram Jaane. Ram Jaane is taken to court where he confesses to all of his sins - the court decides that he must be sentenced to death. The boys of Apna Ghar are in awe of Ram Jaane, as he plans to "die with a smile." The boys think this is courageous and plan to follow in his criminal footsteps. Murli pleads with Ram Jaane not to die bravely, so the boys won't want to follow his path, but Ram Jaane refuses. On the day of his death, with Murli and the boys watching, Ram Jaane feigns fear, crying and pleading for his life. One by one, the boys remove their red headbands, the symbol of being members of Ram Jaane's gang. After his death, Bela and Murli read a letter from Ram Jaane to Bela, which states that he feels guilty for everything he had done and that he had planned intentionally for Bela to leave him and to go back to Murli.

SD Sharma and Hero work together to escape the cell and re-enter the auditorium, where the auction has been reset. Prince buys the country for Rs 1 and drapes a flag around him. Hero, Miss India, and their friends successfully overpower the cronies. Some people previously rescued by Hero and Miss India kill the fake president, pushing a hose in his mouth, causing his stomach to inflate and explode.
