The crossing of paths leads to the characters influencing each other, thus changing their views about love, relationships and life. Their journey is depicted with humour and fun. The characters exist in today`s world making it quite amusing.

Two British nationals (who were tiger experts investigating the large scale poaching of tigers in Indian National Parks) are killed by a ferocious tiger in Corbett National Park in India. This incident is followed by several other tiger attacks, and many deaths result, prompting National Geographic to send a correspondent, Krish Thapar (John Abraham) to the national park and ascertain what really happened. Thapar is accompanied by his wife Riya (Esha Deol). Bashir Khan (Parmeet Sethi) is the forest officer suspected of facilitating poaching in all National Parks that he is assigned to. A group of youngsters, consisting of Dev Malhotra (Vivek Oberoi), his girlfriend Ishika (Lara Dutta), Sajid (Kushal Punjabi) and Vishal (Vishal Malhotra), are on a hunting trip in the hopes of sighting and shooting some big prey. The youngsters' car breaks down (After Dev hits a black cat which Ishika considers very very bad luck). Bagga (Vineet Sharma), a passing by driver, gives them a lift to the farmhouse they were heading towards. Bagga convinces the group to head towards the Orbit National Park for some big game hunting. Bagga tells them that venturing into the core area of the jungle is prohibited and is very dangerous. Bagga's car accidentally hits Krish's, which also breaks down and is at the middle of the road. The two groups decide to travel together in Bagga's car, leaving a mechanic repairing Krish's car. Just a few seconds they set off, the mechanic disappears, and they believe a tiger just took him away and decide not to risk their lives to look for him. Bagga finds them a place to stay -- a guesthouse owned by Pandey (Daya Shankar Pandey). Pandey is a guide who agrees to lead them the next day to the core area, where tigers live, for hunting. Pandey disappears the very night and his body is found in the wild the next day by Bashir Khan, with his head chopped off. Krish starts to be suspicious about the real cause of the recent rising deaths in the jungle, as he is an animal expert and recognizes Pandey is not killed by a tiger or any animal. Warned by Bashir Khan and scared, the group decide to leave the jungle. Before they depart, they find Sajid missing, again not by an animal. Dev, close friend to Sajid, assumes the latter is going to the core area alone for hunting. However, the group decide to leave without Sajid. Expectedly, Sajid joins the series of mystery deaths and is found with his head chopped off. The rest are soon confronted by three tigers on the way. Kaali Pratap Singh (Ajay Devgan), who claims to live in the jungle, saves them from the upcoming tiger attack. On their continued way out of the jungle, they find the road is blocked by rocks due to the landslide caused by rain. Kaali shows up again and agrees to lead them out of the jungle. On the way the car has a minor accident when Bagga cant take his foot off the gas pedal. The group is forced to take a break while Bagga repairs the vehicle. Kaali appears to be very knowledgeable about the jungle. Krish, who is now more curious about the mysterious deaths, asks him if he knows what's behind those deaths. Kaali answers that there was a mad guide in this jungle, who always led tourists to wrong places to make them killed by animals (he did this as he didn't like the exploitation of animals and forests by humans and wanted humans to learn a lesson). Angry villagers later found about it and beat him to death. But his spirit -- the ghost -- remains in the jungle and keeps killing tourists. But none of them believe Kaali's story. Bagga later disappears when repairing his car, rising the fear among the rest. Vishal is also killed by their car explosion a few moments later (the group tries to cross a small wooden bridge to get to the other side, but the car gets stuck and leaks gasoline. Vishal acts weird and refuses to get out of the car and is blown away when a stray cigarette that he threw in the water, ignites the fuel). The rest carry on and reach a deserted guesthouse in the evening, outside which there is a well. All go to sleep after being warned by Kaali not to get close to the well. Riya wakes up thirsty in the night. She decides to get water from the well despite Kaali's warning, and is later accidentally hung by her foot in the well and dies. The rest figure out Riya's death and try to pull out her body, while Dev suddenly realizes that Kaali does not have a reflection in well's water. He also sees that Kaali is not visible in any of the videos that had been recorded by Vishal so far. He realizes that the story Kaali told them is true and he is the ghost referred in the story. Dev makes an excuse to push Kaali off and convinces the others that Kaali is a ghost. They decide to escape from Kaali. They encounter several accidents on their way out of the jungle, apparently arranged by Kaali, but finally manage to escape. Krish now knows what's behind those mysterious deaths but he is not going to tell anyone because no one is going to believe him. Meanwhile in the jungle, Kaali keeps killing tourists.

When he refuses to pay for Laxmi's husband Ramnath (who is an alcoholic and a gambler) who must be operated, she leaves the house with her children. Ramnath dies. Laxmi spots and takes in an orphaned boy Suraj. Her daughter Radha (Madhuri Dixit) forms a sisterly bond with him, named Suraj (Salman Khan). Suraj, a famous and popular singer is grateful to Radha for contributing to his success by her support. Gopal is now a rich businessman. Mona is Gopal's assistant, who wears skimpy clothes and tries to seduce Gopal. Gopal is ultra conservative in his views and doesn't like her behavior. Laxmi dies in an accident (while she was coming in an auto to meet Dev, who was also on his death bed). Dev survives and Radha and Prashant are taken to live with Gopal and Nita. Gopal (Shahrukh Khan) has been in love with Radha (Madhuri Dixit) ever since they were children. As adults, Gopal proposes to Radha and she accepts. Radha goes to invite Suraj to the wedding and finds out that he had an accident and has lost his voice. When it comes to Suraj, Radha forgets everything, even Gopal. Turns out Suraj was playing a prank and Gopal sees first hand the bond between Suraj and Radha. wedding happens. Radha tells she loves Laxmi and Prashant only. Gopal is hurt as she didn't mention him. Gopal wants to be intimate with Radha, but in the joint family setup he is frequently interrupted, leading to sexual frustration. There are two things Gopal disapproves of, after their marriage: Radha's unemployed younger brother Prashant (Atul Agnihotri) who lives with them, and Suraj (Salman Khan), Radha's childhood friend. He doesn't like that Radha is always on the phone with Suraj (even when they are just about to have sex). Gopal plans to take Radha to Switzerland to be away from the family. But Suraj was headed there for a business meeting and Radha invites him to join them. Gopal changes his destination without telling Suraj to enjoy some peace and quiet. Suraj is quite handsome and a very famous singer. Radha, who is very fond of him, talks to him quite often on the phone. The hardworking Gopal, who loves his wife dearly, wants complete attention from her. When he feels Radha gives undue attention to her friend Suraj, he grows gradually very suspicious (He touches her freely, changes shirts in front of her and she gives Gopal's shirts to him) and believes that Radha and Suraj are secretly seeing each other (they talk on the phone when GOpal leaves for office). Prashant needed some cash to buy a 2nd hand motorbike. Gopal finds cash missing from his wallet and admonishes Prashant for taking it by himself, without permission. Prashant protests, but Gopal is in no mood to listen. Turns out Nita took the money for her college fees. Radha asks Prashant to fix the bathroom light. When he is in there, Nita comes for a bath and Prashant covers his eyes, but says nothing. Nita finds out when the bath is complete and complains to Gopal. Gopal hits Prashant and throws him out of the house. Radha laments her woes to Suraj and asks him to take care of Prashant. Gopal overhears this conversation and feels bad. Radha and Gopal visit Suraj's song recording and Gopal has a dream about Radha dancing with Suraj on his song. Gopal throws Radha out of the house after his jealousy completely overwhelms him. Radha-- though she deeply loves her husband-- has never fully understood the turmoil he is going through. On Radha's Bday, Suraj hosts a party and invites Gopal to it. Gopal is outraged. She receives a notice of divorce from him and is devastated. Prashant and Suraj want to talk to Gopal, but Radha forbids it. Finally, Suraj arranges to meet Gopal, who arrives with a loaded gun. Suraj is taken aback upon finding that his platonic relationship with his best friend Radha has caused Gopal such misunderstanding. They argue and Gopal finally leaves. Suraj talks to Radha, but she thinks it is entirely her fault. If she had understood that her husband disapproved of her close relationship to her friend, she would have never seen Suraj again. Suraj leaves Radha and promises to never see her again. He talks to his blind girlfriend Suman (Aishwarya Rai, in a cameo) about what has happened. Suman finally talks reason into Gopal. Once he realizes his misapprehensions and the purity of Radha's heart, he leaves to Suraj's house to take his wife back home. At the moment Radha tries to commit suicide through sleeping pills, Gopal arrives and stops her just in time. They make up and visit Suraj on the set of his latest stage show. Gopal apologizes to Suraj, and everything ends on a happy note.

At the intervention of his mom, along with identification papers and photographs, Bablu is released and provided with an identity card so that the police know he is not Manu. Manu, who is the exact look-alike of Bablu, comes to know of this, and takes away Bablu's id. card, and takes on the identity of Bablu, leaving the hapless Bablu to be arrested again by the police. Arjun soon gets involved in the bad books of a notorious gangster named Naagraj (Danny Denzongpa). Nagaraj is the biggest illegal arms supplier of the country. He has a friendly image in the surrounding villages, and does a lot of charity work, but this is all funded by his arms dealings. Pancham (Tinnu Anand) is Nagaraj's deputy & Rahul (Aasif Sheikh) is Pancham's son. Bobby (Kanchan) is Nagaraj's daughter and Rahul wants to marry her. Arjun's sister Gayatri was a social activist in the village (& arguing for the construction of a dam, which will bring prosperity to the local population. This is opposed by Nagaraj) and Gayatri is abducted by Rahul. Arjun saves Gayatri from Nagaraj and Rahul. But Nagaraj's men attack Arjun and he fights bravely against all odds. Arjun is badly injured and asks Gayatri to leave.. After which, he dies due to his injuries. Gayatri loses her mental balance. When Geeta finds out, she decides to avenge Arjun's murder. She is an advocate and fights a court battle against Nagaraj (she presents Gayatri as an eyewitness), but loses the same (since Gayatri is proven to be mentally unstable in court). She quits as an advocate and decides to take matters into her own hands. Kevin (Ronit Roy), Khan (Sudesh Berry), Kabir (Mohnish Behl), Kartar (Ravi Kishan), Kishan (Harish Kumar) are 5 prisoners on death row in Raghuvir's prison. They are convicted for the murder of a local MLA who caused religious riots in their locality. Geeta helps the 5 escape prison (she had access to the prison due to her proximity to Raghuvir), by mixing sedatives distributed in the jail on a national holiday. Geeta set a condition that the 5 will have to help her do one task in exchange for their freedom. Geeta hides the 5 in an abandoned bungalow outside of town. The convicts realize that Geeta is extremely well organized and has done a lot of planning, which means that the task intended for them is dangerous. They try to escape, but the area is surrounded by terrorists and when the convicts come under attack, they rush back to the bungalow to take refuge. Kishan runs into Bobby on the streets and falls in love with her. Kevin falls in love with a local village belle Rita. Rahul has had his evil eye on Rita for a while. When Geeta finds out about Kishan and Bobby, she forbids him from visiting the mansion again. Kartar also saves a village girl from Rahul's sexual assault attempt, and she falls in love with him. Raghuvir tracks the convicts down and captures them. While taking them back to jail, Raghuvir has an accident, which allows the convicts to escape, while Raghuvir falls into a ravine with the van. When Naagraj finds out that Geeta is out for vengeance, he scoffs at her, refusing to believe that a lone defenseless widow can do him any harm. Nagaraj sends Rahul to attack Geeta, but the 5 convicts fight him off. They are angry as during the fight Geeta didn't help the convicts with arms and ammunition to which she had easy access. Khan and Kabir confront Geeta only to find that she is heavily pregnant and having cramps. They know that Nagaraj and Rahul know their location and will now attack with full force and shift their base. Geeta gives birth to a baby boy. She narrates the story of her life to the 5 convicts. Hearing the story of her tragedy, the 5 convicts have a new purpose in life, to get Geeta justice. Khan and Kabir are ashamed of their hatred towards Geeta. They mount an attack on Nagaraj, but Khan's gun fails to fire, and Nagaraj manages to escape unhurt. Geeta reveals that she sabotaged Khan's gun as she wants to be responsible for Nagaraj's death. Geeta mounts an attack on Nagaraj at the village temple with 3 convicts, but Nagaraj had police backing and gets all of them arrested. The convicts are beaten mercilessly in police lockup. Rahul beats Geeta to get info on the remaining convicts Kabir and Khan. The duo mounts a counterattack on the police station, guided by Bobby. They rescue Geeta and their colleagues, while defeating Rahul and his men. Rahul is killed. Nagaraj tracks their location and forces everyone to surrender as he takes Geeta's kid hostage. Nagaraj puts a time bomb under the 5 convicts and leaves with Geeta and her kid. That's when Raghuvir arrives and reveals he is alive. The convicts reveal that they are trying to avenge Geeta and thus Raghuvir joins forces with them to rescue Geeta and kill Nagaraj. Geeta's army attacks Nagaraj's palace, as Geeta is being tortured by him. Gayatri, who was travelling with Raghuvir, relives Arjun's death and recovers her memories back and becomes sane again. Khan and Kabir sacrifice themselves to save Geeta's kid. In the final climax, a defeated Nagaraj is pursued and killed by Geeta, with her kid tied behind on her back. Geeta then surrenders to the law and spends time in jail, while Raghuvir raises her kid.

They are apprised that there are two criminal dons involved, namely Madanlal Malhotra, and Suraj Pratap Singh, who are involved in gang rivalry, which is spreading violent crime throughout the city. At the recommendation of the Chief Minister, a criminal psychologist is sent to assist the ACP, namely Kamdev Singh alias KD., who proposes that instead of tackling the two gangs, he will try to get the children of Malhotra and Singh to fall in love, thus ending their traditional rivalry. Anil tells Ashok that he or Kavita do not care for his wealth. Anil goes against his brother's highhanded ways and marries Kavita (Nagma), a poor girl and opting to leave the house. Fenni Fernando (Anu Agarwal) is Ashok's secretary in office. Ashok gets his sister Suneeta married to a man who turns out to be a gold digger Pradeep Mallik (Dalip Tahil), although she is in love with Ashok's manager Kamal (Vivek Vaswani) (neither had the courage to go against Ashok and admit their feelings for each other). Pradeep was guided by Mr. Mallik (Bharat Kapoor), Pradeep's brother and his wife (Madhu Malhotra). They send Jairam (Viju Khote), as Marriage Mediator of Sunita and Pradeep. The wedding takes place in double quick time and Anil is not invited to it. Ashok travels to Ranigarh for a new auto-parts plant. There an orphan named Munna makes fun of him and the way he walks (while he was out touring the town). Munna lives in an orphanage under the eyes of evil caretaker Shanti (Sushmita Mukherjee). Pratap (Paresh Rawal) is Shanti's boyfriend and also runs a car theft business in town. Shanti uses the orphanage money to fund her drinking binges. Ashok finds out where Munna lives and visits the orphanage to take revenge. At the time, some journalists are visiting the orphanage. Kamal suggests Ashok should donate, but Munna advises Ashok not to donate too much as Shanti will spend it on her drinks. Ashok gives her rs 50, which makes her angry. That evening Shanti thrashes Munna badly, who has no option but to escape and who decides to hide in Ashok's car and leave for town with him. Munna (Pooja Ruparel), an orphan arrives at Ashok Bansal's house. Initially the servants think Munna is a boy and are ordered to give him a bath, but they find Munna has long hair and that she is a girl. Fenni is summoned to give Munna a bath and to get her ready. Ashok has to allow her to stay for a few days as his sudden appearance at the orphanage has done wonders for his PR and sending her back will create negative press. She creates havoc in Ashok's home (She forces Ashok to spend time with her and Fenni (who is Munna's caretaker), watch movies and so on). Meanwhile Shanti figures out that Munna is living with Ashok and calls him to threaten that he has "stolen" Munna from the orphanage and she will go to the press with this. Ashok decides to take Munna back to the Orphanage, but his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Ashok, Fenni and Munna are forced to take a lift in a truck. They are dropped 20 Kms from Ranigarh. They are forced to spend the night in an abandoned cottage. Fenni manages to forage some food from the local area, but Ashok refuses to touch it. The situation leads to many amorous encounters between Fenni and Ashok (including Ashok seeing Fenni completely naked). Ashok returns Munna to the orphanage the next day. Munna says that she left on her own choice, and forces Shanti to take the lawsuit back, causing a loss of millions. Ashok is happy now but misses Munna terribly. He shares with Fenni the reason why he hates the word "love" so much in his life. On the way back, a trashed Munna again blocks his car, and this time Ashok hugs Munna and brings her back with him to his estate. Ashok is much more relaxed now and values love in his life. He trims his mustache and dresses more informally. Fenni is shocked at his transformation. At her birthday, Ashok gets drunk and openly admits her love for Fenni. Meanwhile Suneeta is in hell as Pradeep sleeps with other women in front of her. Ashok misses Anil and puts out an ad in the newspaper calling him back. as luck would have it, Anil works in an auto garage owned by Pratap. Anil tells Pratap that Ashok is not his brother. On Rakhi, Ashok goes to meet Suneeta. Ashok meets Anil there. Ashok begs for forgiveness to Anil, but Anil refuses to forgive Ashok as he has done a grave injustice to Suneeta by marrying her to Pradeep, as she is treated like a servant in the house and beaten badly. Ashok beats up Pradeep black and blue and brings Suneeta home. Ashok forces Pradeep to sign the divorce papers by threatening to reveal his tax frauds and other thefts with the Govt. Ashok unites Suneeta to Kamal. Meanwhile Anil finds out that Pratap is dealing in stolen cars. As Pratap decides to kill Anil, Ashok intervenes to save him. Pratap is defeated and escapes. Shanti finds Munna is at Ashok's house. Ashok has sent an application to adopt Munna. Anil and Kavita return home. Shanti meets Ashok at his house and says Munna parents have resurfaced and want her back. Shanti offers to buy off the parents for Rs 25 Lakhs, but Ashok now senses that Shanti wants the money for herself and refuses to pay. Ashok puts a notice out in all newspapers that he is adopting Munna. Pratap and Shanti find a piece of locket in the storeroom, that Munna carries in her neck. This would be conclusive proof that whoever carries that piece is her parents. The orphanage kids hear this plan of Pratap to kill Munna after they get the money from Ashok. Pratap and Shanti disguise themselves and reach Ashok as Munna's parents. They say Munna was lost is a carnival many years ago. The piece matches and Ashok sends Munna away with them and Rs 50 Lakhs. The orphans meanwhile go to the police and ask the inspector to call and warn Ashok. The orphans tell Ashok about Shanti and Pratap's plan. Munna escapes and hides in the carnival. She had hidden the money suitcase. Ashok reaches on time and gives Pratap the money, and he wants Munna back. Anil attacks and together they both rescue Munna, while Pratap and Shanti are killed.

They spend more and more time together and he soon gets caught up in the rich and glamorous lifestyle. Sapna has fallen in love with Raju, but when she finds out that he loves Renu, she is heartbroken. In the meantime, Raju's enemies are conspiring against him and they collapse a bridge which was under Raju's supervision. He gets the blame and soon realizes that the glamorous world of the rich is not what he wants. In the end, Raju decides to leave. Most people were asking Jai when Raju would come back. Jai told them when he turns his head around and looks at Renu, he will have no choice but to come back. Just a second earlier, Jai says "Palat" (meaning turn) then Raju turns and looks at Renu. He and Renu finally get reunited again.
