With his hard work and dedication he emerges victorious. But in a final with a heavy weight champion he is tricked and ends up paralyzed on the hospital bed. This leaves Father Baldev devastated. When her sister Tanya has an accident she decides to give her own blood to save her, until Dr. Raisingh (Revathi) tells her she has tested positive for HIV. Tamanna's world turns upside-down and she desperately tries to contact Rohit, but in vain. Her situation is soon spread around the office and she loses her job. Angered by her unfair dismissal she searches for a lawyer to fight her case. Eventually Tarun Anand (Abhishek Bachchan) agrees to represent her. The rest of the story shows if Tarun can help destroy the prejudice put upon Tamanna.

The stories include: A husband trying to scare his wife; a man stuck at a creepy "healthy hotel"; a teacher spooked by a child's homework; a housewife scared of apples; a bizarre lift on a freeway; and a college kid with an unusual power. Unlike the usual Indian horror film, this does not resort to sound effects and visuals for thrills. Each sketch has its moments, though a couple of them could have been brilliant with small script changes and a resistance to oversimplifying. Suraj Singh (Anil Kapoor) is in love with the beautiful and wealthy Komal (Karisma Kapoor). They dream of their perfect family together but her arrogant father Yashpal Chaudhary (Amrish Puri) detests Suraj because he is a middle-class youth, with no riches whatsoever. Komal cuts all ties with her father, marries Suraj, and is soon pregnant. Komal and her estranged father meet at a family wedding and her forgives her for leaving abruptly. Yashpal agrees to meet Suraj but when they reach home they see a seductress inside, wearing Komal's gown and drinking tea in the kitchen. Suraj walks in totally oblivious to the fact that a strange woman is in their home. Komal questions the seductress and she says she shares Komal's husband. Komal is furious and tries to commit suicide but Suraj stops her and repeatedly tries to prove his innocence. It turns out Yashpal set up the whole thing to break up their marriage. Komal leaves her husband with her father. She delivers a baby boy but Yashpal wants to make sure that the one thing that can bring his daughter and Suraj together be eliminated immediately. He hires hit men to kill the baby but Suraj manages to get away with his son. They move to a unknown place and he raises his son with help from the villagers. Suraj later meets Vaijanti (Shilpa Shetty), an eccentric fisher woman who his son sees as a mother and friend. Vaijanti begins to love Suraj and hopes that he feels the same way. Komal, depressed and lonely, spots her son with Suraj. A thief pretends to be a cop in order to recover his diamond from a site that has been converted into the police headquarters. Although he becomes a favourite of the ACP, a colleague gets suspicious. Just before his arrest, Shyam manages to hide a diamond at a nearby construction site, intending to retrieve it as soon as he gets out of prison. When he's released two years later, he's horrified to discover that the building site is now police headquarters, with his stolen gem forming part of the foundation. Shyam decides to create and play the role of Inspector Ram and soon becomes the favourite of ACP Ranbir Singh (Paresh Rawal) at the police station. But life is not that easy for the impostor, who quickly comes to the attention of the ever-suspicious Inspector Pande (Om Puri). Amidst all this mayhem Ram actually finds time to romance Inspector Ranjita (Bipasha Basu). But he also plays the character of Shyam with Ranbir's daughter Komal (Shilpa Shetty). Soon they become lovers. A newly-married couple go on their honeymoon to a foreign country, when the wife suddenly disappears.

Vikram is a honest police inspector on the trail of Chimanbhai, little knowing that people behind the crimes are none other than politicians who will do anything to protect the criminals. A gangster named Shah who owes allegiance to the Janardhan gang is killed by Chimanbhai. Although Janardhan is in prison, he ensures that Chimanbhai is notified of his anger and vengeance. Chimanbhai arranges a meeting with Janardhan and kills him. Some schoolchildren and their teacher Aarti Singh, who are at a picnic nearby, witness this, but Chimanbhai and his men hunt them down and kill them all. The entire country is shocked by this killing, and the police are under pressure to apprehend the killers at any cost. Aarti's brother, Police Inspector Vikram Singh, also assists in finding the killer and gets his girlfriend Divya to pose as Aarti to lure the killers out into the open. He doesn't know that Jagmohan and Seema are plainclothes police officers assigned to arrest him for the murder of his uncle, Ram Kumar Saxena. In 1947 when the British finally left India, they stole a shipload of gold, diamonds, jewelry, and artifacts. Unfortunately, the ship sank, and attempts to recover the wealth has been in vain so far. Wealthy Motichand decides to consult a woman named Bhairavi with occult powers, and she informs him that the treasure can only be recovered with the help of a mermaid. Using her powers she locates the mermaid (Shilpa Shetty) and forces her to come ashore. The mermaid is rescued by local fisherman Raviraj (Venkatesh) and his crew, and he lets her stay until she recovers. She is incapable of human speech, and mimics everyone around her, so therefore everyone thinks she is insane. Raviraj decides to call her Sona. Bhairavi locates Sona, but must first overcome Raviraj and his crew. She schemes with Ganga (Malashri), who is in love with Raviraj and feels threatened by Raviraj's attentions to Sona, and will do anything, including kill, to have Raviraj for herself. Eventually, Anjali does welcome him with open arms. Since he's of marriageable age, she wants him to marry Sonu Rai, the beautiful young daughter of wealthy Sampat Rai. But Raja is in love with Chhaya, a servant in their household, which is unacceptable to Anjali. Over at Chhaya's house, her brother Shankar opposes her marriage with Raja and wants her to marry Maniram. They soon discover a sinister plot of Pakistani ISI and Mast Gul to murder Pakistani Prime Minister visiting India to destroy his massive attempt at long term peace with India and embarrass India in the process.
