Read more →Jai (Fardeen Khan) is a fashion photographer, happily married to Geeta (Sonali Kulkarni). He meets Ria (Urmila Matondkar) in Goa on a beach where she was doing yoga alone. He takes photos of her without her permission and publishes them in the magazine. The magazine becomes a huge hit because of those pictures. Vispy is Jai's boss and is very happy with his work. Vispy's servant Rampal (Rajpal Naurang Yadav), calls Vispy pretending to be underworld don Chhota Vakeel and asks Vispy to hand over ransom amount to Rampal. Rampal as Vakeel has demanded Rs 20 Lakhs from Vispy. Ria is shown as a temperamental and headstrong woman, who doesn't let anything come in the way of what she wants. Despite making mistakes she does not apologize for them and instead put herself in physical pain till her father is forced to bend to her wishes. Vispy throws a big party for the success of the magazine which is attended by Ria and her father Mr Jaiswal. Vispy realizes that Ria is the person whose picture he has published in his magazine. Mr Jaiswal also loves Jai's work and is pleasantly surprised that Ria was interested in modeling. Vispy (Ravi Baswani) wants Ria to model for their magazine but she refuses because she is angry at Jai for publishing her pictures. Jai manages to convince her to model for their magazine. Jai says that only he has the talent to bring out the real personality of Ria, which is not colored by the celebrity status of her rich and famous dad. Jai says that he has given Ria a new identity which can sometimes takes several years. Jai conducts a few photo sessions with Ria and even teaches her the basics of modeling. Ria begins to fall in love with Jai. Her father Mr. Jaiswal (Suresh Oberoi) is really happy that her daughter is finally in love (he doesn't know its Jai). Vispy hands over the ransom amount to Rampal, not knowing that Rampal is Chhota Vakeel. Shortly thereafter, Rampal quits his job to go back to his village. Ria, to talk to Jai about marriage, goes to his house and gets a shocking surprise that Jai is married to Geeta. Stubborn and always having her way, she can't believe that the guy she loved is married. Ria is angry at Jai for hiding his marriage from her. Jai considers Ria a good friend. Ria is inconsolable. Ria is very possessive about Jai. She makes a suicide attempt, calls him in the middle of the night and continues calling him at all times of the day. Jai stops Geeta from informing the police as he feels that it will ruin Ria's life. Geeta is angry that Jai is not discouraging Ria from her behavior. Geeta also learns that Jai spent time alone with Ria. When a shaken Geeta asks for a breakup, Jai promises to change his ways. But then Ria comes over to Jai's home and hugs him, which Geeta sees. She is livid and wants to run away but ends up falling into a glass table and injuring herself. Geeta starts doubting Jai's intentions. Ria visits Geeta in the hospital after injuring her and spins lies to sow the seed of doubt in Geeta's mind. Ria says that Jai really loves her and is not admit his feelings to Geeta. Ria asks Geeta to leave from their lives. Jai, meanwhile, tries to hold on to his sanity and marriage. Geeta tries not to let the doubts and suspicions creep in. Ria also stalks Geeta to eliminate her from Jai's life forever. Meanwhile Rampal uses Vispy's money to start his own business. He attends one of Vispy's social functions as his peer, astounding him. Vispy suspects that there was no Chhota Vakeel. Rampal gets drunk and admits that he is Chhota Vakeel. Jai finally decides to move out of the city with Geeta to pursue a peaceful life. Ria realizes this and asks him to meet her one last time. He agrees and goes to her house to talk to her father about her. Ria uses this opportunity to visit Jai's house and tries to kill Geeta. When Jai reaches Ria's place, he discovers that Mr. Jaiswal is not home and waits for him. While waiting he calls Geeta and hears her shouting. Immediately he rushes home and finds Ria trying to kill her. To protect Geeta, he lies to Ria that he is ready to divorce his wife and start a new life with Ria. He assures her that he really loved her all this time, only he did not realize it. Ria believes him and comes to him; Jai smacks her hard. She falls to the floor bleeding. Her father arrives and, after clearing all misunderstandings, takes Ria home. Six months later, Geeta and Jai are happy with their life while Ria is housed at a mental hospital.

She, like the rest of the village, is constantly terrorized by Gajendra and Virender, 2 misogynistic brothers who own most of the village. Her pride and joy, her educated son, shares a forbidden love with Gajendra's daughter, Sushma. Eventually, Vaidehi takes refuge with a bandit named Bulwa, who takes the Mother Goddess as his matron and respects women, and considers Gajendra and Virender his archenemies.
