Intense drama follows between mother and son, as both struggle to come to terms with the news of his father`s death. Soon, Haider learns that his uncle is responsible for the gruesome murder and he sets out to avenge his father`s death.

It is revealed that Govindu's friend had told Siddhu about the condition, and Siddhu walks out of the engagement party with Govindu. When Veerendra complains about his reputation being ruined, Swetha decides to separate Govindu and Siddhu to get revenge. She begs Govindu to forgive her and take her as his daughter-in-law, as she had not known about Veerendra's condition. Govindu says that if Siddhu wants her, then he is willing to have her in the house because he holds no grudge and wants Siddhu to be happy. Siddhu decides that as long as Govindu is happy, he is too, and agrees to marry Swetha. Meanwhile, Govindu has differences with a big-time rowdy and contractor named Satti Pehelwan. Swetha moves into the house and starts creating differences between Govindu and Siddhu with the help of her cousin Sathi Babu, but she fails miserably each time. The rest of the film revolves around whether she succeeds in her schemes.

The film revolves around the story of three women. Ziya (Bhumika Chawla) is a fast-rising Bollywood actress. She came from Hyderabad and started in small time regional films before hitting it big in Bollywood. Her parents are retired and live in a small south-Indian town. Ziya has worked with all the big-name banners in the industry and has done a wide variety of movies ranging from commercial to artistic. Her live-in relationship is about to break up with Neel (Rahul Bose) who has groomed her for a film career. She wants a child with him, but he does not want any responsibilities. Neel says that he was only a doormat in Ziya's life, and he never knew whom she truly loved. He says that he invested 3 years in Ziya's career and to proper her to stardom and yet she did not take even 3 minutes to acquire the starry airs. Diya Rao (Divya Dutta) is Ziya's younger sister and knows that Ziya can be a bit moody. Soon Neel moves on and finds another girlfriend Nandita (Priya Badlani). Nandita's uncle Harry (Rakesh Bedi) is a rich industrialist and is putting up a big project for Neel and Nandita. Ziya is spying on Neel & Nandita and knows that Nandita is also cheating on Neel. While Ziya was watching the CD on her home entertainment system, Diya also saw the video and knew Nandita's secret. Diya is a simpleton and repeats whatever Ziya says. Ziya tells Diya that men like Neel only entertain themselves with girls like Ziya, but for marriage they want a "pure" girl coming from a high-class family. Ziya calls Neel and asks him to come by one last time to pick up his stuff which is still lying in Ziya's home. Before Neel arrives, Ziya shreds all of Neel's favorite suits to pieces. When Neel arrives, Ziya's mood changes again and she seduces him. Rehana gets Ziya to sign a few autographs but does not have any topics to engage her in a conversation. Diya is angry at Neel and gives him the DVD that Ziya's spy made for her. Neel watches the DVD with Nandita and finds out that she was having sex with another guy. Neel dumps her. Anushka (Riya Sen) is a telephone receptionist who longs to discover tenderness in her relationship with a wealthy suitor Nikhil (Ashmit Patel). Meanwhile, her office colleague, Tarun (Jimmy Shergill), loves her silently. Anushka knows that Tarun has feelings for her but ignores him. Her colleague at office is Piya (Anita Hassanandani). They both work in Nandita's uncle's office. Piya is sexually open, and flirtatious, but Anushka is more conservative and traditional in her views about physical relations before marriage. Nikhil wants to have a sexual relationship with Anushka, but she doesn't. For their date, Nikhil books a hotel room and wants to have sex, but Anushka pushes him back. Nikhil dumps her in a second. All the while that Anushka was in the room with Nikhil, Tarun was following her and was waiting in the hotel cafe. Tarun throws a party as he has been transferred to the New York office. He invites both Anushka and Piya for the same. Anushka sees Nikhil at the dance club and proceeds to have fun with Tarun to make Nikhil jealous. Nikhil comes begging back to her and she gives him a passionate French kiss right on the beach, in public. Nikhil is ashamed and now Anushka knows that he only wants a hidden relationship with her and not a public one. Rehana (Tabu) is a 2nd housewife of Anwar, who must confront the fact that her husband Anwar (Kay Kay Menon) is being unfaithful to her with an air hostess, Preeti (Celina Jaitly). Inayat (Karan Panthaky) is Anwar's son from the first marriage. Inayat secretly has a crush on Rehana. Rehana gets blank calls from an anonymous caller (which is revealed to be Inayat). Preeti is good friends with Nandita. Inayat hates Anwar and wants Rehana to speak up against the injustice from Anwar. Anwar proposes to Preeti, but she doesn't want to destroy a home. Rehana goes to Preeti while Anwar is with her. Inayat made this happen. Rehana leaves Anwar and says that she sacrificed her life for his happiness. Ziya is pregnant and Neel is the father. Tarun gets a job in NYC and leaves. Rehana moves in with her mother. Ziya has a car crash on the highway right when Rehana is driving by. Rehana takes Ziya to the hospital. She has a boy.

When his girlfriend is kidnapped by Kashmiri terrorists, a commando is tasked with kidnapping the Home Minister's daughter in order to secure his lady love's release. Major Amrish Kaul resides in Kashmir, India with his family consisting of his wife, Sudha, a daughter and his unemployed son, Ajay. Ajay meets with an accident on 2 occasions as a result of the carelessness of Neha Pandit, a school teacher. Ajay then takes a liking to her and arranges their meeting at a near-by restaurant. They both gets acquainted with each other with Ajay getting to find out that Neha is a widow. She eventually reciprocates his love and they begin to plan their wedding. Neha's father-in-law, R.K. Sharma is against this relationship at first and refuses to permit the couple to marry but eventually they convince him. A few days later Neha is abducted by a group of terrorists and Jihadis headed by the notorious Juned Afghani who is on a mission to free their leader, Naved Rabhani. Ajay is tasked with kidnapping Anita, the only daughter of India's Home Minister, Bhagwat Saxena, in exchange for the safe return of Neha. Anita is under strict security in New Zealand under Ajay's father's watchful eye. Ajay does manage to successfully carry out this task only to learn that he has been double-crossed.

Murad Hussein and Gul Baloch have been enemies for years. She is fascinated by aspiring Bollywood singer, Amar, and Gul abducts him and makes him Jameela's companion. In the meantime, Yusuf finds out that his mother has been feigning mental illness, and is able to recollect everything that happened on her wedding night. She asks Yusuf to kill Gul and Jameela, to which Yusuf agrees. But events turn Albaksh against his master, and gets him on the run, first from the Pakistanis, and then on touching India's border, by the Indian soldiers. Pratap captures Albaksh and promises he will be taken to safety in India. Mumtaz (Tabu) is a naive young rural woman whose family is killed in communal riots. After her village is burnt to the ground, she moves to Mumbai with her uncle, the only family member she has left. They are desperately poor and her uncle persuades her to become a bar girl (dancer) at Chandni Bar. He promises her that this is merely temporary, until he is able to get a job. Mumtaz is shy and loathes the work, but she forces herself to dance and flirt. However, her uncle doesn't keep his word; he lives on her earnings, drinking them away, and never gets a job. One night, after spending time drinking and watching the girls dance at the bar, Mumtaz's uncle rapes her. Mumtaz is distraught and emotionally confides in the other dancers. Even though they console her, Mumtaz is given a reality check when she realises that many other women at the bar have equally disturbing and painful stories. She manages to pull herself together and immerses herself in her work at the bar. Eventually, Mumtaz catches the eye of a gangster called Pottya Sawant (Atul Kulkarni). He attempts to seduce her and finally resorts to paying her for sex. Mumtaz, however, cannot go through with the deed and tells Pottya about her rape. Enraged, Pottya kills her uncle and marries Mumtaz. Mumtaz leaves the bar, and Pottya rises up the criminal ranks quickly, despite his volatile temper. The couple live a happy life with their son, Abhay, and daughter, Payal. Mumtaz wishes for Abhay and Payal to be educated, and stay far away from her world of dancing girls and Pottya's world of gangsters. Pottya's attitude and temper cause him to prematurely kill another gangster, which results in him losing friends and connections in the criminal world. He becomes a target for the police. He is captured and killed in an operation to 'eliminate' various Mumbai gangsters. A grieving Mumtaz slowly runs out of money and soon realises that Pottya has left behind a large amount of debt. With no source of income, she is forced to return to work at Chandni Bar. Years pass and Mumtaz still works at Chandni Bar: now as a waitress. She manages to provide a stable environment for Abhay and Payal, who are teenagers. Mumtaz encourages her children to do well in school, so that they can move away from their surroundings of crime and gangs. Abhay is very studious and performs well in classes, but soon befriends a group of troublemakers and delinquents. Despite being warned by Mumtaz, he continues to see his friends. One day, Abhay and his group are arrested by police for extortion and held in a juvenile prison. Even though he was not part of the crime, his reputation as Pottya's son causes the police to ignore his pleas of innocence. At the prison, Abhay is raped by a pair of older inmates. Mumtaz attempts to talk to the police, to no avail. She meets with some influential people, who have police connections and can get Abhay released. They agree to help her but demand a high price, which she must bring to them in less than two days. Mumtaz has no choice and sells her body to obtain the money. She is still short. Seeing her mother's plight, Payal takes up dancing at Chandni Bar and brings the money to her troubled mother. Having secured the money, Mumtaz is able to get Abhay released. However, she notices that he is not the same happy boy he was a few days earlier. Instead, he is cold, ruthless, and is looking for revenge. Abhay makes connections in the crime world and gets a gun, which he uses to kill the boys who raped him. Mumtaz arrives on the scene and is devastated to find that her son has become a killer. After the passing away of her parents in an automobile accident, Radhika moves in to live with her aunt, Malathi, and studies Zoology in Lexicon Science College. She is very friendly with Basu Subtankar and both, along with other girls, create quite a ruckus, much to the chagrin of their teachers and the College Principal. In addition to this, they are also staunch rivals of NRI Geetha Damodar, who wants to be the Student Chair. Radhika competes, there is a tie, but the teachers overturn Radhika's votes due to many complaints against her, and elect Geetha as the Chair. When Malathi wants Radhika to wed, both girls create a fictional character, name him Ramesh, and tell Malathi that Radhika is in love with Ramesh. Meanwhile, Meenu meets and falls for a businessman with a passion for poetry, Srikanth (Abbas). Manohar goes to Madras to make a film and prove himself worthy of Sowmya, and Srikanth's business collapses, and he also departs to find someone who will lend him the money to pay off his investors. Then the women's grandfather dies, and his estate goes to their uncle who all but turns them out. They move to the city, where Sowmya gets a job as a telephone operator at a software company, but works her way up to being a programmer. She continues to meet Manohar, but begins to suspect that he thinks she is unlucky. After a few false starts, he is finally filming his movie, and it stars Nandini (Pooja Batra), a famous female action heroine, who is another cause for Sowmya's discontent. Meenu is going crazy in the apartment, and Captain Bala gets her into music school. He also arranges for her to meet with her love, Srikanth, who promptly disappears again. She is recognized for her voice, and begins recording music. At one recording session, she runs into Srikanth who is there with his fiancee, the daughter of the man who is bailing out his company. Meenu is so thunderstruck that Srikanth is marrying someone else, that she walks out into a storm and falls down a manhole. Captain Bala rescues her. In the hospital, Meenu begins to realize all that Captain Bala has done for her. When Captain Bala introduces her to a young friend of his as a prospective husband, she sends the young man away, and confesses her love for the Captain. Manohar's movie comes out, and it's a success. He runs over to Sowmya's house to finally propose marriage, only to find she's planning on moving to California. He protests, they cry, and eventually she agrees to marry him. The movie ends with a double wedding, Captain Bala and Meenu, and Manohar and Sowmya.

Prem and Rupali are attracted to each other and ultimately, they fall in love. Rupali doesn't know that Prem is lying to her and that he has a family. Rupali is much preferable to Prem due to her modern lifestyle and fashionable choices, as compared to Pooja. Prem convinces Pooja not to come due to the expenses involved which he estimates to be Rs 15 Lakhs. In Switzerland Prem meets Lakhan (Anil Kapoor) and Lovely (Tabu). Lakhan is family friends with Prem's mother and knows that if he sees Rupali, he will report it straight to his mother. As luck would have it Lovely befriends Rupali, but Rupali doesn't say that she is dating Prem. From Lovely, Rupali hears about Pooja Bhabhi. Prem explains that he has a dead brother who passed away in a car accident, and a widow Bhabhi and her 2 kids, whom Lovely and Lakhan keep referring in their discussions. Prem says that his mother is very orthodox, and this is why she never allowed his Bhabhi to get married again. As luck would have it, Prem and Lakhan are staying at the same hotel. Lakhan is a doctor, he finds out the truth, when Prem has a back spasm in his room with Rupali and Lakhan is called upon to treat him. When Lovely meets Rupali, she tells him that Prem is married and has 2 kids. When Rupali confronts Prem, Prem claims that he married Pooja under pressure as Pooja is a mentally sick person and effectively Prem has a non-existent marriage. This conversation is recorded on Billu's (Master Varun) camera accidentally (Billu is Lakhan and Lovely's son). Prem returns to India with Rupali and gifts her a mansion very close to his existing place where he lives with his family. Rupali is ecstatic and Prem even gifts her a car. Now Prem alternates between spending with Pooja and with Rupali. Prem tells Pooja that he is going for a long walk, and she makes him take their dog named Tiger along for company. This way, Tiger also sees Rupali's mansion. At home, Pooja watches the video with Lakhan and Lovely and sees this particular section where Prem and Rupali hug each other. Lakhan manages the situation by saying that Prem was harassed by Rupali and Prem was not at all interested in her. Pooja still confronts Prem, but Prem reminds her that it was Pooja who made him cancel her tickets. Pooja is ashamed when Prem says that she is doubting his character. Back at home, On Karva Chauth, a religious ceremony observed by married couples, Pooja discovers Prem at Rupali's house. Prem had gifted Rupali a house very close to his own and Rupali had insisted that Prem spends Karva Chauth with her. Pooja's dog, who had been to Rupali's earlier drags Pooja to her home and the truth is revealed to Pooja. She asks Prem to choose between his mistress and his family. Prem chooses Rupali and moves in with her, leaving his children and mother behind with Pooja. Pooja sends her mother-in-law and children to live with her husband and Rupali. They intentionally trouble Rupali and convince Prem that Rupali keeps them hungry and wants to poison and kill them. When Rupali tries to discipline the kids, it forces Prem to stop her and see her in a negative light. The trio also pretend that Rupali is making them do housework like slaves. Then they pretend as if Rupali has thrown them out of the house. Prem forces Rupali to apologize to his mom and kids. Prem then hits Rupali when his mom tells him that Rupali gave her poison pills for a headache. Prem is not willing to listen to Rupali's side of the story. Pooja, meanwhile, with the help of Prem's friend Lakhan, has a make-over, becoming a modern woman and taking on modeling assignments. She is the 51% stakeholder of Prem's modeling agency. Pooja takes operational control of the agency and cuts off Prem's source of funds that he uses to splurge on Rupali. Pooja also fires Rupali from the agency. Ultimately the relationship between Prem and Rupali breaks down. In the end, Prem realizes that Rupali only came to him since he gave her material things, while his wife stuck with him through thick and thin. Rupali realizes her mistake and gets back together with her ex-boyfriend, Deepak (Saif Ali Khan). This was designed by Pooja and Lakhan who contact Deepak and make him contact Rupali. In a twist, Lakhan befriends Rupali, affectionately calling her his sister. While hugging her, his wife Lovely (Tabu) walks upon them and misunderstands the situation. She leaves the house crying, and drives away in a car, which their son has tampered with and has managed to disable the brakes. Lakhan then chases after her and makes up with her, with Lakhan saying to Lovely that she is his "Biwi no. 1."

Major Ajit is sent to nab ex-Army officer Colonel Sodhi, who is hiding in the guise of Devraj Hathoda. Major Balbir Singh Sodhi (Amitabh Bachchan) attempts to kill Indian Home Minister Veer Bhadra Singh (Danny Denzongpa) but is unsuccessful. He has been identified, and the Army is on the lookout for him to court-martial him. They suspect that he has assumed a new identity, that of Devraj Hathoda alias Dadabhai. Major Ajit Arya (Nana Patekar) is assigned the task to investigate this, and he successfully manages to lure Balbir into admitting his true identity. Then Balbir clarifies to Ajit what the motive was behind his assassination attempts on the Home Minister, and Ajit decides to join forces with Balbir to expose the Home Minister. Then terrorist Ghafoor Changezi announces that no worshipper will be permitted to visit the Holy Shrine of Mata Sheravali during the Navratri Fest, and the Home Minister accepts the challenge, to make himself even more popular. Shakti harbors ambitions of opening a chain of fast-food restaurants, a vision that contrasts sharply with his family's traditional values and expectations. Back in the village, Shakti quickly becomes disillusioned by the stagnant atmosphere and the deep-rooted animosity that still plagues the townspeople. He informs his father, the zamindar Raja Thakur, that he intends to sell his share of the family's property to fund his business venture. Raja Thakur, who raised Shakti as a single parent after his mother died when Shakti was just a year old, pleads with his son to stay in the village and use his education for the betterment of the community. He emphasizes that "a man gets an education not to become a selfish being but to uplift his uneducated brothers and society." However, Shakti, frustrated by the ongoing feud between his father and his uncle, Zamindar Birju, and the behavior of his older brother, a perpetual drunk and an embarrassment to the family, decides to leave. The village is deeply affected by the longstanding feud between Raja Thakur and his younger brother Birju, a disabled man whose son, Bali Thakur, holds a deep grudge against Raja Thakur. This rivalry, fueled by Bali Thakur's desire to one-up his uncle, keeps the village divided and stifles its progress. While spending time in the village, Shakti engages in a game of sticks (a traditional Indian sport) with Bali Thakur's men, which he wins, further aggravating the tension between the two factions. During a visit to an old temple that had been closed off due to a longstanding dispute between Raja Thakur and Birju Thakur over who had rights to it, Shakti insists on entering, and his friend and servant Sukhiya breaks open the lock. Bali Thakur hears of this and incites a brutal riot between the two village factions. Raja Thakur, desperate to prevent further bloodshed, considers apologizing, but Shakti insists that he or Sukhiya should apologize instead. However, when Shakti looks for Sukhiya, he learns that Bali Thakur's men have cut off Sukhiya's hand as punishment for opening the temple, leading Raja Thakur's men to retaliate by burning down the homes of Bali Thakur's supporters. Frustrated by the lack of justice after Sukhiya's arm is cut off, Shakti confronts the head police officer about why they are not taking action. The officer explains that the villagers refuse to come forward as witnesses to such violent acts, making it difficult for the police to intervene. Despite this setback, the police officer becomes supportive of Shakti. To prevent the situation from escalating further, Shakti enlists the help of a government official friend to legally open the temple for all, with his father's reluctant approval. Offended by this move, Bali Thakur retaliates by hiring goons to destroy a dam that protects Raja Thakur's side of the village. A female villager notices the goons near the dam but does not think much of it at the time. The dam is subsequently destroyed with explosives, leading to a devastating flood that kills many villagers, including infants, leaving Shakti deeply grieved The same female villager, whose son died in the flood, angrily recognizes one of the goons in the village. She confronts him, leading Shakti to capture the goon and hand him over to the police. However, the goon, out of fear for his family's safety, refuses to implicate Bali Thakur in the crime. Later, Bali Thakur intimidates Narayan, a villager living in Raja Thakur's area, into closing off a portion of his land, making it difficult for the public to reach the main road. This action was done at the suggestion of Bali's lawyer, further complicating the ongoing conflict. In a village panchayat called to resolve the issue, accusations fly from both sides. Without any evidence, Bali Thakur accuses Raja Thakur of orchestrating attacks on his brother's family and insults him relentlessly. Disrespected and heartbroken, Raja Thakur returns home and dies from a heart attack that night. During the funeral, Birju Thakur grieves the death of his brother, while Bali Thakur reacts with cold indifference and annoyance. Shakti, now burdened with the role of the village head, reluctantly takes on his father's duties. After becoming the village head, Shakti makes his older brother swear to stop drinking, and his brother agrees. However, Bali Thakur's men, under the influence of Bali's lawyer, try to get Shakti's brother drunk again to manipulate him into signing away the village's property deed, but Shakti intervenes just in time to prevent the betrayal. As time passes, the villagers express concerns about the land that has been closed off, leading to longer travel times. Shakti successfully convinces Narayan to open the land by arranging a marriage between Narayan's daughter, Gehna, and a well-to-do man from the village and the police agree to provide protection to stop Bali men interfering. However, on the wedding day, the groom flees in fear of Bali Thakur. Distraught and feeling dishonored, Narayan believes his daughter will be stigmatized and live in constant fear. Shakti steps in and marries Gehna himself, despite still having feelings for Anita. Although their marriage begins awkwardly, Shakti and Gehna gradually move on. When Anita returns and learns the truth, she is left heartbroken. Although saddened by the turn of events, she understands the situation and leaves. Shakti, too, closes the chapter about his girlfriend and starts his new life with his wife Bali Thakur, enraged by the series of events-including the opening of the land, Shakti stopping him from tricking his older brother into signing over the family land, and the village panchayat's decision to honor Shakti's family with the right to host the village festival for reopening the temple-plots a final act of vengeance. Despite Shakti's kind offer to let Bali oversee the festival, Bali refuses, threatening to cut off Shakti's head, further escalating tensions. Bali then devises a plan to plant a bomb at the festival, determined to exact revenge. Bali's parents, Birju and his mother, become aware of his plot and, horrified, try to stop him. They attempt to call the police, but Bali, in his blind rage, imprisons them. Birju pleads with his son to end the violence, but his pleas fall on deaf ears. Bali's mother manages to escape and runs to the festival to warn Shakti of the bomb, but she arrives too late, and the bomb explodes, resulting in multiple deaths. In the aftermath of the explosion, a furious Shakti searches for Bali at his home. He finds a devastated and remorseful Birju, who does not know where Bali is hiding but Birju does not know, Shakti decides to help Birju and his innocent family by bringing them to his home, however both factions of the village, wanting revenge, go after Bali Thakur and his family. Shakti protects the innocent family and convinces the villagers to leave. Appreciative of Shakti's efforts to protect them, Birju Thakur finally ends his enmity towards him. Meanwhile, the police launch a manhunt for Bali in connection with the bombing. The next day, Shakti notices Bali's mother walking into the chicken coop area on his property and realizes that Bali is hiding there. Shakti follows her and confronts Bali, who is hiding inside. Bali's mother begs him to flee and escape the consequences of his actions, but Bali, consumed by his hatred for Shakti, refuses. When his mother tries to stop him from attacking Shakti, Bali spits in her face and kicks her in the stomach. Enraged by this, Shakti attacks and overpowers Bali, but ultimately spares his life, urging him to surrender to the police. However, Bali refuses to give up his vendetta and tries to attack Shakti again. He flees to an area filled with statues and idols, where the two engage in a final, intense battle with weapons. In the struggle, Shakti decapitates Bali with an axe, an act that leaves him devastated as he realizes that Bali has forced him to unleash his dark side. Although other villagers are willing to take the blame for Bali Thakur's murder, Shakti gives himself up to the police to end the cycle of violence once and for all. The film depicts the true meaning of education as "a tool to uplift uneducated people".

Kajal (Karisma Kapoor) is the daughter of Prof. Sidhant Sharma (Alok Nath). Kajal is an innocent girl and always lived her life on her principles and with values taught by her father to always take stand for truth. Karan (Sunny Deol) is a criminal working for Gajraj Chaudhry (Amrish Puri). The film starts with Gajraj told by his accomplices that one journalist is writing stuff against him, so he orders Karan to kill him. Karan kills that journalist in a market full of people including Kajal and his father standing in the crowd who witnessed the whole merciless tragedy. Kajal's father reports the crime being the eyewitness, to police. When Karan got to know about the report, he enters Kajal's house and starts beating her father. In order to protect her father and stop Karan, she slaps him. For the first time, Karan notices her and gets in eye contact with her which stopped him (as he got stuck with beauty and charm in her eyes). And then Karan goes to Tulsi (Tabu), a prostitute in one brothel where he is not able to forget Kajal's eyes and in frustration leaves the brothel. Karan starts stalking her and when she is stopped by him in a temple. Kajal felt disgraced, faced her fear and without being scared, lashed out on him by criticizing his behavior and thinking that he wants to fulfill his lust for her, after listening to which Karan feels disgusted and leaves the temple. Karen's soft side is depicted where he saved one child, named Timepass, being mistreated by customers at a bar and took that child with him to his place after knowing that he is an orphan and lives on streets and works to survive which shows the reason of his present state, and why he wants to save the child from the horrors of life, and save that child's childhood which Karan had lost. After, Kajal and some other women are on a bus and are being harassed by some goons from which Karan saves them and hands over the goons to the police. After witnessing his courage and goodness in Karan to do the right thing, Kajal becomes infatuated with him and gets interested in him. Kajal becomes friends with Timepass from whom she gets to know Karan more and wants to be friends with him. She approached him through Timepass(child) and meets him regularly and in one meeting she made him realize the true value of friendship which Karan had never known because of his troublesome life. Once witnessing his terror in people she criticizes and asks for a promise to change his life for her. Karan who had never been asked to be good since his childhood, and now this girl wants to see him a changed man, teaches him true values of life, all this makes him want to be a good person. Karan leaves the criminal world to be with Kajal. Karan is now madly and passionately in love with Kajal and can't bear even the thought of losing her. One day at temple Kajal prays for his new beginning by expressing her love and promises that she won't let him be shattered again. Raju (Salman Khan), son of Kajal's father's childhood friend Ramakant Sahaye (Dalip Tahil), is enthusiastic, mischievous and flirtatious towards Kajal, and has come back from America to fulfill the desire of his parents for him to marry Kajal. Kajal does not know about this fact. She gets to know about it when she is told by his father about the marriage plans with Raju. She confessed to her father about her love for Karan and refuses to marry Raju, after listening to this and thinking about her afterlife with a goon, her father suffers a major heart attack. To save her father, being the righteous girl and thinking it is her duty towards her father, she agrees to marry Raju. Karan gets furious with this and goes to Kajal's house to beg for her love but Kajal disclaims her love and backs out and asks him to forget her and never to return. Kajal considers the circumstances that how she was helpless to be with Karan and in saving her father's life, she realizes that she should not dwell in her past and it is best now that she should accept the truth and move on. (Again, this shows her power to sacrifice her wishes to do what is morally right for her and what she is supposed to do). Kajal marries Raju. Karan fails to prevent the marriage and is upset, so he returns to a criminal lifestyle. Kajal promises to her father while bidding adieu that she will fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a wife in true and every sense. Raju and Kajal go to their honeymoon and in front of Raju's late mother's photograph, Raju confessed his passionate love for Kajal for years. With time she falls in love with Raju and they both are very happy with each other. They return to India after the honeymoon. However, she faints after overhearing Raju and his father's argument about their illegal affairs in businesses. Through a Doctor Raju gets to know that Kajal is pregnant but she is unhappy about the fact that their child will take born in an environment full of crimes and violence which she has been against all her life and criticizes his business's activities to which Raju replies that he did not know about the illegal affairs taking place, and promises to give her and their child the right environment and leaves Raju's fathers house. Because of Raju's decision, Gajraj worries about his interests in Raju's father's business thinking, Raju might become a danger to his business, and orders Karan to kill Raju. Karan who is unknown about Raju's reality goes to his house to kill him and there he comes across Kajal and finds out that Raju is the husband of Kajal. Kajal after seeing the old Karan in her house gets scared about his return in her life fearing that Karan is after her happy life now. Instead, Karan is on to the purpose of saving Raju now for Kajal's sake. One day after being rescued by Karan from goons Raju (who is unconscious) is taken to his house and where Kajal apologizes to Karan for her deeds with him which is overheard by Raju. Raju tells both Kajal and Karan about his discovery of their past. Raju very wisely understands and tackles the whole situation and conveys his thoughts about destiny's plays and its tricks in their lives that humans are helpless against destiny, but he believes in love and says love is the essence which connects people and that he respects Kajal and Karan's past and praises Kajal's fulfillment of her 'dharma' towards him and says that he will name their child Karan if it's a boy. Then suddenly Raju, Kajal, and Karan are attacked by Gajraj's goons and in escaping the house under attack Kajal suffers labor pains. Karan notices that and takes Raju and Kajal to a safe place. He reaches the brothel and asks Tulsi to help Kajal deliver the child safely. Goons chase them to the brothel where Karan and Raju indulge in a fight with the goons. At one point where Gajaraj is about to shoot Raju, Karan comes in between and takes the shots. Karan dies at the moment when Kajal delivers her baby. and the film ends with Raju holding their son whom Kajal calls with the name 'Karan'.

They try again and again to meet The president of the TIPS cassette company, Khurana (Kader Khan). Ram Pyare (Satish Shah) is Company manager. Khurana wont give them time. They also meet Divya (Tabu), who is Khurana's daughter. They try to trap her by either playing dead in front of her car, or stealing her purse.. But Divya is strong and thwarts their silly plans. Divya admonishes the duo for their silly tricks, and Shyam begs her for a chance to participate in the TIPS music competition. Divya asks Shyam to defeat her champion, but she meant a boxing champ. Shyam takes a hit, before retaliating and defeating Divya's champ in the boxing match. Now Shyam insults Divya by saying that she has made fun of the art of 2 impoverished artists and that does not suit her stature. Divya brings Shyam and Muthu to the TIPS music competition where singer (Shakti Kapoor) is the reigning champ. Shyam defeats the reigning champ and Khurana is impressed with his musical abilities. Shyam is promoted to a high position in TIPs company. Ram Pyare is worried as he was working with Nana (Mukesh Rishi) to sell fake TIPS cassettes in the market, without paying any royalties. As Shyam goes back to repay his debts in the village (with the TIPS prize money), he receives tragic news of the death of his wife Pooja (Karisma Kapoor), who has died in a flood. Pooja had arrived in the village with her father Madhav (Arun Bakshi), who is a music teacher. Thakur's son (Arjun) had his evil eye on Pooja.. Shyam falls in love with Pooja and to get close to her, he joins her father as his music student. Thats how Shyam learned how to sing and play instruments. He starts flirting with Pooja. But one day Pooja overhears Shyam bragging to his friends how he plans to get close to her and kissing her. Pooja is hurt. she slaps Shyam and makes him realize that music is a pure art, which he used for impure purposes. Shyam realizes his mistake and gives himself totally to the study of music. Eventually Pooja is impressed and reciprocates his love. They get married (after Shyam saves Pooja from Thakur's son who was trying to rape her) before shyam leaves for the city to make a career in music. Shyam also wants to repay Thakur's (Bharat Kapoor) debt due to which Thakur was able to slap his mother (Anjana Mumtaz). Shyam returns to the village and repays Thakur's debt and then slaps the Thakur twice to make things equal. His friends tells Shyam that Pooja and Madhav both died in a flood. Shyam is distraught and returns to the city. He then marries Khurana's daughter Divya (Tabu). Divya was in love with Shyam, but Shyam is still mourning. when Divya threatens to commit suicide, Shyam agrees to marry her. shyam then finds that Ram Pyare is looting the company with Nana (Maternal Grand father) and his fake cassettes business. He confronts them both, defeats Nana and puts them in jail. When Khurana has a heart attack, Shyamsunder finds his "presumed dead" wife Pooja in the hospital. Shyam cannot tell the 2 wives about each other as Divya is super temperamental and Pooja is very fragile. He then has to fool his two wives, even if it includes leading a double life to make sure Pooja and Divya don't discover he has married both of them. Shyam sends Divya to US to get Khurana operated, and uses the time to settle down with Pooja. Divya returns. Khurana asks Shyam to take Divya on their honeymoon. Shyam books tickets for Bangalore and then returns alone to take Pooja with him. He runs into Ram Pyare in Bangalore (who was exiled from Bombay), who finds Shyam with Pooja. Ram Pyare calls Khurana who refuses to believe that Shyam is cheating on Divya. Shyam stays in the same hotel, sharing one room with Divya and other with Pooja. One day Divya sees Shyam with Pooja in the temple. Muthu tries to convince her that this is a duplicate, and real Shyam is in office. Divya rushes to the office, while Muthu manages to warn Shyam who gets to the office before Divya gets there. Divya is convinced that there is a duplicate of Shyam and convinces Khurana when he finds him buying Indian traditional wear for women for Pooja. Pooja and Divya becomes friends. They both suspect that they share the same man as husband. Shyam's mom arrives from village. The 2 ladies discuss that if Shyam is common, then mom will arrive only in one house and cancel the other. Muthu hears this and informs Shyam, who hires a fake mom (Himani Shivpuri) in front of Divya, as Pooja had met Shyam's real mom. Then Divya invites Pooja and her husband for lunch and wants Shyam to be present. Shyam manages the situation by entering the house as Pooja's husband. He then takes offense at some event, goes out and changes clothes to re-enter as Divya's husband. Meanwhile Nana and Ram Pyare are seeing everything. Ram Pyare again approaches Khurana and tells him that Shyam is married to 2 women. Thakur's son arrives and joins Nana and Ram Pyare in exposing Shyam. They approach the photographer who took 2 photos of Shyam in different poses and merged them to make it look it 2 different men in the same photo. The photographer tells the truth, when beaten and is murdered by Nana. Ram Pyare then tells Khurana that Sunder has murdered his duplicate Shyam (Khurana's son-in-law) and his body (the mutilated body of the photographer) was found on railway tracks. Sunder is arrested. Sunder manages to escapes and asks Muthu to bring both Pooja and Divya to a secluded temple Shyam meets both and admits the truth and explains the circumstances in which this happened. Nana and Thakur's son attack Shyam. Shyam manages to defeat them with some help from Pooja and Divya. They both accept Shyam as their common husband.

Sanjay Verma is an eligible young man, who has been having hallucinations of a past life as Shantanu. He travels to a small community and meets with Sonia Verma, and recognizes her as the girl named Lachi in his hallucinations. Convinced, that they were lovers from a past life, he attempts in vain to impress this upon Sonia, who is engaged, and is to be married to Vikram Malocha.

After her husband, Ravi Malhotra, is killed, Sudha lives the life of a widow with her brother, Mahesh, and Bhabhi, Kamini. A new tenant, Ajay, comes to her rescue when she is molested by Bhavani's brother, both fall in love and decide to get married. Kamini initially opposes this match, but subsequently relents and both get married.
