Singh and it effectively brings out the quarrels and gamesmanship between the honest police officers willing to lay down their life in service of their country and corrupt officers who are looking only for their self-enrichment, power and money. Trainee police officer Vijay (Akshay Kumar) is a middle class small town man who gets sucked into the political system where leaders have turned the battle of ballot into exploitation, opportunism for self benefit and to deprive the country of its true, selfless & sacrificing leaders. Ratan Sethi (Raj Babbar) is a politician who subverts the political system. As a senior police officer, Mr. Bhonsle (Mohan Joshi) runs a virtual mafia operation for politicians and friends from inside the department. But honest senior officer Mr. Pandey (Amrish Puri) trains the young officers with dedication, seeing to it that they imbibe values of truth and honesty and emphasizing with them to lay down their lives in service of their motherland. He tells the officer that they are the lucky few who have got the opportunity to serve their motherland. In his fight against the enemies of the country, he gets trapped into Mr. Bhosles web and Mr. Pandey has to put all his experience and contacts to save his cadets life and career. Pandey and Vijay join hands together to free their motherland from the evil forces and clean up the corruption, exploitation, gundaism from our society.

Read more →Jeeva (Bobby Deol) is from a struggling family. He falls in love with Kiran (Malaika Arora Khan). Due to their differences in social class, Kiran's father does not approve of their relationship. To punish Jeeva, Kiran's father frames his mother Neha (Farida Jalal) and two sisters for prostitution and bribes the police into arresting them, which leads to the three of them committing suicide (by setting themselves up on fire) due to pressure from the society. Kiran also kills herself, ashamed of what her father has done. Jeeva seeks revenge by killing Kiran's father (Mohan Joshi). Jeeva later becomes one of India's most dangerous assassins in Bombay with Madan Bhai as his handler, and the only person who knows his identity. Jeeva is a conscientious killer when he takes the contract to eliminate Pankaj Kharbanda (Pramod Moutho), who wanted to grab the slum land by displacing poor people. The slum dwellers gathers Rs 5 Lakhs for Jeeva's fees, but he charges them only Rs 1 per bullet. Jeeva then craftily lures Pankaj out of his secure office by mounting an attack and then eliminates him with ease. Jeeva stays in a society and is known to the neighbors as a doctor. Jeeva lives with Scorpions in his apartment. Jeeva lives next to the Bali family. The father Vikas Bali (Ishrat Ali) works for a corrupt police officer named Devraj Khatri (Ashish Vidyarthi) who works in the drug trade. Devraj confronts Vikas for adulterating drugs by 50% and supplying that to Devraj's customers. Devraj finds this out when one of his regular customer complains about the quality of the drugs supplied. Devraj wants Vikas to admit how much money he made, but Vikas maintains that he did nothing of the sort. But secretly Vikas admits to his wife that he mixed the drugs to earn some extra money to fulfill her desires for material possessions and to separate her and Kiran (by getting Kiran a different apartment as he cannot stand the daily bickering between Kiran and her stepmother. Kiran Bali (Rani Mukherji) is the youngest daughter of the family and strongly dislikes them. She has a stepmother (Dolly Bindra), who mistreats Kiran and has a bias in favor of her own daughter Nikki. Kiran's brother Vijay (Sachin Khedekar) is coming to town to meet her. Kiran tries to befriend Jeeva many times, but he is too engrossed in his killing to have any time for her. S.K. Puri (Police Commissioner) (Avtar Gill) wants to arrest this unknown assassin who is causing deep embarrassment to the police department as he is able to take-out high-profile targets with ease, without being seen, and without leaving any evidence for the police to lead to him. One day, Kiran is in Jeeva's apartment delivering milk to him. While she is there Devraj Khatri comes to Bali's apartment and brutally kills them all (including her brother Vijay) - Kiran is the only one to survive as she was in Jeeva's apartment. Kiran saw Devraj shoot her brother and father from Jeeva's keyhole in the front door. She faints while witnessing the shooting, but later regains her consciousness, after the police has done their job and carried the dead bodies away. Kiran calls Puri and says she can identify the shooters. A mole inspector Khan (Mahavir Shah) informs Devraj, who figures out that Kiran was hiding in a neighbor's apartment. When Kiran reaches home, she tells Jeeva that she called the police. Jeeva immediately sets fire to the apartment and escapes with Kiran. Kiran figures out that Jeeva is an assassin, and she begs Jeeva to train her. Jeeva soon finds himself taking Kiran under his wing and so, he trains her in handling weapons to get revenge against the men who had brutally murdered her family. It's not easy as Kiran insists that she will stay with Jeeva. Jeeva is unable to carry out his missions as Kiran keeps delaying him. One day she takes him shopping, one day she washes all his guns and so on. But he likes Kiran and cares for her. Madan Bhai (Veerendra Saxena) is Jeeva's friend and his handler. He figures out that Jeeva is now in love and hence not as efficient as he used to be. Slowly both Jeeva and Kiran figure out that they both love each other. Devraj launches many attempts to kill Kiran, but Jeeva is able to save her every time with his alertness. Meanwhile Puri investigates and finds that Vikas Bali was twice arrested on drug possession charges but released on Devraj's testimony to the court. Puri summons Devraj and he is alerted to Puri's investigations. Jeeva starts training Kiran so she can defend herself. Meanwhile he investigates the death of Vikas Bali and finds out that Devraj is responsible. He organizes a counterattack on Devraj, and even hits his target, but unfortunately Devraj survives. Now Kiran goes after Devraj, but he is alert and captures her. Jeeva rescues Kiran, while Devraj is away. But Devraj tortures Madan Bhai and finds where Jeeva is hiding with Kiran. Devraj attacks Jeeva with full force. Jeeva is able to get Kiran to escape through the back pipes of the apartment and sacrifices himself to kill Devraj with a lethal grenade blast. Madan Bhai meets Kiran and hands her the entire wealth that Jeeva had accumulated over the years.

His young son then takes the law into his own hands in order to avenge his father. School-master, Sachidanand Agnihotri lives a middle-class life-style with his family consisting of his wife, Gayatri and son, Vishal. Sachidanand is honest to the core and thus he is unable to keep any permanent job as his honest policy is regarded as a liability. One day he witnesses Nagesh the son of a wealthy, influential and corrupt social worker, Jaspal Rana raping a female. His attempts to involve the police in this matter only leads to frustration; unable to witness the injustice done to his father Vishal decides to take a stand only to be thrown behind bars. The case is then called up in court and on the advice of advocate, Ashok Pradhan, Jaspal and his men decides to create such situations that Sachidanand find hard to comprehend which weakens him making him unable to explain things in the right manner; thus Pradhan is able to prove to the court that Sachidanand is mentally unfit and under intense pressure Sachidanand commit suicide. Amar proposes to the Minister to permit a Police Inspector to be jailed, who will then find out the real truth about Lankeshwar and his convicts. Arjun Singh is the police inspector selected for this job, and he agrees to do so. A plan is contrived by Amar and his superiors, which will result in Arjun shooting Amar down with a blank bullet, and then absconding. This goes according to plan, and Arjun is apprehended and held for court. He pleads guilty, and is sentenced to Lankeshwar's jail. Ajay vehemently denies this, but is personally identified and criminally held responsible, convicted and sentenced to prison. Several years later he is released from prison, and finds out that his dad had killed himself, his mom and sister are untraceable, and Pooja had killed herself rather than marry anyone else. He sets out to put his life together and meets with a ruthless police inspector, whose daughter was one of the rape victims.
