Rohit meanwhile goes to Portugal to study Colonial history, and decides to do it on Heynesman Antony, a Portuguese who was born in 19th Century Bengal and went onto become of the leading minstrels of that time. In his fieldwork, he meets a mysterious man, Kushawl Hajra in Chandannagore, who claims to be Antony`s reincarnation. Rohit starts recording his narrative of his past life as Antony for his dissertation. From here we see a journey of two men separated by one and a half century - both learning an alien language and going on to write songs in that overcoming all odds. How Rohit woos Mahamaya with the perfect Bengali song, and how Kushawl deals with his psychological disorder forms the rest of the story.

The physical and mental trauma caused by the accident are portrayed with great skill and subtlety by Prosenjit. Now, when the two arrive the woman's son and his new bride are in the throes of passion, constantly sneaking off to be alone together; this infatuation does not last long, however, when Mahendra begins to see that his wife's friend, Binodini, is more his type. The story details the lives of these three and Mahendra's best friend as they deal with certain issues as distrust, adultery, lies, and numerous fallings-out between them. Sankar looked after each and every need of this family. Amar Chowdhury won the post of president of the mill owners' association by defeating strong competitor Rudraprasad Sen (Dulal Lahiri) . Out of grief, Rudraprasad Sen burnt the factory of Amar Chowdhury with the help of Vikram (Arun Banerjee), and made every effort to make him penny-less. In that helpless situation, Arun Chowdhury's sons insulted and deserted him. They also slandered Sankar. Amar Chowdhury drove Sankar out by showing false anger. Sankar achieved his goal of becoming an actor with the help of Kesto da (Sunil Mukherjee), a production manager. Once he was traveling with his pregnant sister in a train, he begged everybody for a seat for his sister to sit, but no one paid heed to it. There were some burglars in the train who started looting but, Rana saved it from happening. By this act of his he was given the job of a police officer. In Rana's area of jurisdiction, there lived an MLA name Bikas. He was a very corrupt politician & indulged in all illegal activities. There lived another man Azad who fought against injustice everywhere. Now this minister's girl Jaya, fell in love with Rana. Once it so happened that while Rana's sitter was about to give birth to her child, this minister, Bikas, tried to kill Rana, but his sister was injured and ultimately died. Then Rana decided to take revenge but was initially not allowed to do so. Utlimately MLA Bikas's real character was revealed and in a serious fighting with Rana MLA Bikas dies. —Swarup Basak

Soon, on her father's request, Rupa returns home. Her mother refuses to acknowledge her marriage; instead she decides to marry her off to her former match. On the day of her marriage, just when Rupa had given up all hope; Somu makes a dramatic entry to take charge of his 'sasurbari' (in-laws' house). After all this Rajnarayan decides to take up a part-time job. Tuhin's wife insults him and his wife. She also starts conspiring with his mother. Rajnarayan's wife has a cerebral attack and becomes a paraplegic.Tushar and his father take care of her. Rajnarayan again asks his elder son to return all the money. His son asks him to come to his office. When he goes there he is insulted by an employee. Rajnarayan Babu searches frantically for a job but does not succeed. Rajnarayan starts pulling carts. Tushar has a quarrel with his brother over this. Rajnarayan's wife soon passes away. Finally Tuhin realizes his fault and teaches his wife a good lesson.
