Prof. Ajoy Mukherjee and his spouse Aditi witness a murder, committed by the criminal Digbijay. In spite of repeated warnings from Digbijay and his right hand Loha the Professors testify against them and they go to jail for 7 years. After coming out Djgbibay turns out even stronger. He attacks Ajoy's family. He sends a man called Binod Sharma who pretends to be the friend of Ajoy's brother Joy. Digbijay and Binod conspire against Joy and Ajoy. After sending his own man to rob Joy of two lakh rupees, Binod compels Joy to commit murder. Meanwhile Digbijay stabs Ajoy and Joy gets entangled for the murder of his brother. A local inspector Dilip Lahiri also turns out to be an ally of Digbijay. While Joy remains in police custody, Digbijay rapes and murders Joy's younger sister Dia. After this, Joy's sister-in-law Aditi commits suicide. 'Mone Mone' is the story of Shakuntala, a girl of self-respect. Her father dies an untimely death leaving her with the responsibilities of her mother and two young brothers. She paints and works hard to run their expenses but is not ready to bow down or beg before anyone. They go to their maternal aunt Sudha's house for her daughter's wedding. Kuntala is angry with Sudha for not keeping in touch with them and answering her letters. Later it is revealed that Sudha's marital family had kept the letters. Soumitra is an eligible bachelor who falls in love with Kuntala. But Kuntala avoids him. He wins over her faith by promising to share her responsibilities. When Sudha finds out about this she gets Kuntala married to Soumitra.
