Aan: Men at Work is a 2009 Bollywood action film about police officers` constant fight against crime. Crime is at its peak in Mumbai and the CBI is persistently working towards quelling the lawlessness. A team of police officers put their foot down and vow to bring down the criminals and mafias.

Sultan is the Chief of Mujahd-E-Kashmir Front, and he deputes dreaded terrorist Mohammed Jalaudin Ghaznavi to abduct tourists in Mahabaleshwar and hold them for ransom. This ploy fails due to the timely action of Major Abdul Hamid of the National Security Guard, who not only saves the hostages, but also apprehends Ghaznavi. While being held in a cell, Ghaznavi attempts to negotiate his release with Home Minister Mahendra Suryavanshi to no avail. His comrades, led by Shabbir Khan and Aslam Marzban, abduct Suryavanshi's wife, Rukmani, who is the Principal of St. Mark's Sr. Secondary School, along with her son, Chaitanya; his girlfriend, Sapna, and a bus-load of students. Their demands are to ensure to release of Ghaznavi and others as well as free Kashmir from India. Abdul is once again deputed to deal with Shabbir, but ends up becoming their captive. A police commissioner enlists the aid of an eccentric inspector to end a gang war between bitter enemies. With crime flourishing out of control, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) arranges a meeting of senior police officers to discuss this situation. They are apprised that there are two criminal dons involved, namely Madanlal Malhotra, and Suraj Pratap Singh, who are involved in gang rivalry, which is spreading violent crime throughout the city. At the recommendation of the Chief Minister, a criminal psychologist is sent to assist the ACP, namely Kamdev Singh alias KD., who proposes that instead of tackling the two gangs, he will try to get the children of Malhotra and Singh to fall in love, thus ending their traditional rivalry. Inspector Mahendra Nath lives a middle-classed lifestyle in Bombay along with his wife, and son, Vijay. Vijay Kumar is an young man living in a small town in rural India, who makes his living farming. He hopes to change his lifestyle and that of the townspeople by building a hospital with the help of attractive young doctor Rekha, who he is in love with, so much so that he is willing to donate his land. Rekha suggests that he approach the District Collector to get permission to build a hospital at another vacant spot, which he does. The Collector assures them that necessary approval will be granted. But the local Zamindar of the region, Ranjit Kumar, has other plans of his own, as he intends to build a Cinema House in his lovers (Sheela) name. When he faces opposition, he quietly backs away, and lets Rekha, Vijay and the townspeople lay the foundation of the hospital. The film takes place in the 19th Century British India and is the story of the fight for independence from the British between 1825 and 1875. The film tells the story of men that lead the war against British Rule: Sanga (Dilip Kumar), Bharat (Manoj Kumar) known as Kranti, a prince Shakti (Shashi Kapoor) and a freedom fighter (Shatrughan Sinha). Sanga is an honest and dedicated employee in the kingdom of Ramgarh, owing allegiance and loyalty to no one except Raja Laxman Singh (P. Jairaj). When Laxman Singh conditionally permits the British to use the port for trading purposes, Sangha finds out that the British are taking out gold and jewelry and bringing in ammunition, and puts a stop to this. He goes to report this outrage to Laxman Singh, only to find him stabbed to death. Sanga is charged with treason and of killing Laxman Singh. Sangha was betrayed by Laxman's brother Shamsher (Pradeep Kumar) and his brother-in-law Shambhu (Prem Chopra), who wants to see Shamsher on the throne of Ramgarh. SAngha is forced to accept charges of treason when Shambhu captures his wife Radha (Nirupa Roy) and son. Sentenced to death, he escapes (Before escaping he cuts off Shambhu's arm with which he killed his unborn baby) and forms a group of revolutionaries who have only one goal - to drive the British out of India. But the baby is born by miracle of God. Sanga doesn't know it as he has escaped the kingdom. Shambhu goes after Sanga's unprotected family. Sanga's elder son is saved by Sanga's friend & is named Bharat (Manoj Kumar). Meanwhile his younger son is saved by the palace maid, who puts the baby as the new born child of Laxman's sister Queen Charumati (Shashikala) (who has had 3 dead kids so far). The younger child grows up to be prince Shakti (Shashi Kapoor). Sanga captures a British ship and becomes a pirate to disrupt their sea based supply chains. This group multiplies into several armies, all united with one slogan - an Independent India, also known as Kranti. Bharat (Manoj Kumar) starts his own army which has Sureeli (Parveen Babi), Sheetal (Sarika) and Kareem Khan (Shatrughan Sinha). Kareem is captured by Shamsher and his forces. Bharat rescues Kareem before he is killed. In response Shamsher appoints Shakti his new commander of the armed forces. Shamsher's own son Prince (Dheeraj Kumar) is very pissed with this decision, but Shamsher explains he did this, so no-one would accuse him of bias when he appoints Prince to be the new King. Rajkumari Meenakshi (Hema Malini) is en-route to Ramgarh to wed Prince. She is arrogant and is imprisoned by Bharat, when her commander Darmiyan Singh (Manmohan) tries to rape Sureeli. Bharat decides to send Sureeli as the princess to Ramgarh, to infiltrate the enemy camp. Meanwhle Bharat rescues slaves from a British mining settlement, which includes Radha. Without knowing, mother and son are united. Bharat shows Meenakshi how British have tortured Indians to further their own business interests. Meenakshi converts to helping Bharat. Based on Sureeli's intelligence, Bharat stops Shakti from transporting India art and religious treasures to Britain. He spares Shakti's life in the process. Meenakshi is in love with Bharat, but Sureeli secretly loves him too. Bharat and Sanga are known as Kranti.. to turn public opinion against Kranti, British, with Shambhu start carrying our rapes and other atrocities in the name of Kranti. Sheetal is raped and killed in her village during one such revenge raid. This leads Bharat and Sanga to blame each other for the crimes. The two Kranti's have a showdown and fight with swords when Shakti shows up and arrests them both. Meenakshi and Kareem join forces to rescue Sanga and Bharat, but Sureeli's father is killed in the process. Sureeli is also killed by Shambhu when he realizes that she is not Princess Meenakshi. Shakti again captures Bharat (when he tracks the horse carriage used by Sureeli to come to the Ramgarh palace, it leads him to Bharat's hideout) and makes him a slave on a British ship. Bharat finds Kareem in the ship's hold. Meenakshi becomes a slave girl on the same ship. They convert the ship's slave master to their side and eventually kill all the Brits. Meanwhile Sanga confronts Shakti and defeats him in a sword fight. Sanga spares his life and rides away, but Shambhu shoots at his back and misses. Sanga thinks Shakti shot at him as a coward. Meanwhile the palace maid is dying and tells Shakti that Charutmati is not his mother and his real mom is Radha. As Shakti reunites with his mom, he is captured by Sanga. Radha follows Shakti and is reunited with Sanga. Radha meets Bharat and asks him to rescue Shakti (who has been kidnapped by Kranti, not knowing Sanga is Kranti). Bharat intervenes before Sanga can kill Shakti (Sanga is intent to punish Shakti even knowing that Shakti is his son). They all escape when the Brits attack Sanga's hideout and Shakti saves them Shambhu basically kidnaps Radha and Meenakshi, forcing Sanga and Bharat to join forces and attack the fort. At the fort Radha runs into the palace maid who tells her that Bharat is her elder son. Kareem sacrifices himself to fire an old cannon that brings down the door of the fort. Sanga heads towards the palace as Shambhu is taking Meenakshi and Radha there. Sanga rescues them and Meenakshi stays with Sanga, while Shakti goes with Radha to find Bharat who is trying to silence the cannons aimed at the villagers. Meenakshi goes into labor. Sanga takes Meenakshi away from the cannons where she can give birth. Meanwhile Bharat sacrifices himself to silence the cannons. Sanga leads Meenakshi to Radha, where she has already given birth. Before dying Bharat uses the cannons to injure Shambhu and the British garrison posted at Ramgarh. Shambhu turns one cannon towards Bharat and delivers a deadly blow. Bharat dies in the arms of his parents after kissing his son. Yrs later, Bharat's son kills Shambhu and avenges the death of his father.

Vijay and Ravi, two best friends do well in life and fall in love. Unfortunately, both of them fall in love with the same girl. Fate has it that, love leads to major misunderstanding between the two best friend.

DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Shiv Kumar (Sunil Dutt) is a daring policeman who has just defeated and arrested notorious robber Durjan Singh. He returns home to his wife Sheetal (Rakhee Gulzar) and their young daughter and announces that he has been transferred to Bombay. He has two brothers, Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ravi (Shashi Kapoor), who live in Bombay. They are intelligent, capable guys, but spend their time loafing about the city and swindling unsuspecting people (for eg they convince a corrupt hotel manager that Vijay has stolen rs 2.5 lakh of jewelry from his employer, and Ravi (a policeman) is looking for him. The manager makes a deal with Vijay to buy the diamonds off him for RS 10000. Thats when Ravi arrives again and threatens jail for helping a robber. The manager pays an additional rs 5000 as bribe to Ravi). Shiv doesn't like their philandering ways. After being swindled by Chacha (Johnny Walker) and Renu (Bindiya Goswami) (Renu appears as a damsel in distress who owes money to Chacha who acts as a money lender. The due date is past and Chacha threatens jail. She offers her Porsche against a loan of rs 30K. The car is worth at least rs 100K. Ravi is besotted with Renu (and was overhearing the conversation) and offers to help her by buying the car for rs 30K. Turns out the car was stolen and lands Ravi+Vijay in jail). Abdul (Mazhar Khan) a crippled street beggar, helps them find Renu and Chacha. Renu and Chacha return the 25K to them, as they already spent the 5k. Vijay is impressed with their work and offers to join forces for the next caper. The idea is to steal a diamond necklace from Maharani Kamalpur when she attends a party at the Sheesh Mahal hotel. They are quickly joined by a glamorous thief, Sunita (Parveen Babi). Sunita manages to steal the necklace before the quartet. But the police condones off the hotel and starts a search of every individual. Sunita drops the necklace in Vijay's pocket, which Vijay notices. He escapes by hiding the necklace in his cane. Vijay invites Sunita to join their gang.. One of their tricks (the duo play god-men who can walk on water) eventually backfires (when Shiv sees their ads all over town and arrests them) and lands Vijay and Ravi in jail. Shiv later bails them out and reads them the riot act at home. Shakaal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) is an international crime lord operating from a remote island outside India (300 kms from Bombay). Shakaal is a sadistic villain who rejoices in pain of his enemies and traitors. Shiv gets progressively closer to the root of the crimes in the city. Shakaal kills an informant on his crew by feeding him to crocodiles on his private island. A mysterious man (Shatrughan Sinha) tries to assassinate Shiv Kumar twice in the city. Shiv survives both times. After the two attempts on his life, Vijay and Ravi advise him to find a different line of work, arguing that his profession is unpredictable, dangerous and unsuitable for a family man. Shiv stands firm, citing his undying patriotic commitment to his corps and his country. Shakaal has Shiv brought before him by kidnapping him from the city. He compliments Shiv on his wits and valor, and invites him to come to his side. True to his form, Shiv firmly refuses the offer. Shakaal tries to kill him, but Shiv breaks loose and tries to escape from the island. Shakaal unleashes wild dogs upon Shiv and eventually shoots him dead on the beach from a helicopter. As Vijay, Ravi and Sheetal lament their tragic loss, the mysterious man who tried to kill Shiv shows up. Sheetal angrily identifies him as the person she saw escaping at the carnival after the first attempt. The man introduces himself as Rakesh, a marksman and former circus performer who used to shoot targets blindfolded. He was recruited by Shakaal, to assassinate Shiv, by holding Rakesh's wife hostage. Rakesh confesses that he deliberately missed Shiv on the two previous instances, hoping it would buy him time to rescue his wife. On realizing this, an angry Shakaal killed his wife. Rakesh sought out Ravi and Vijay so they could work together to bring down Shakaal. The trio seek the aid of a homeless cripple, Abdul (Mazhar Khan) and manage to find and destroy Shakaal's contraband warehouse in the city. Finding that Abdul was providing Ravi and Vijay with information, Shakaal has his men kill him. Enraged with the destruction of his warehouses, Shakaal kidnaps Sheetal and has her brought to his island. Vijay, Ravi and Rakesh fume, knowing that Sheetal will almost certainly be killed and that they have no clue about the location of Shakaal's island. At this point, Jagmohan (Mac Mohan), another of Shakaal's aides who has been mercilessly crippled by him, offers his help to the group to gain entry to Shakaal's hideout. Posing as a musical troupe (a familiar stratagem in many Bollywood films), Vijay and Ravi (with Renu, Chacha/Uncle and Sunita) enter the island and perform for Shakaal. Shakaal, however, reveals that Jagmohan was sent by him to trap them. Jagmohan's fracture was a lie. Their cover is blown and they are captured. An elaborate sequence ensues as the three men escape. The trio and the widow avoid the booby traps (Vijay is dropped into a tank with the crocodiles and Ravi+Rakesh are in a poison gas filled enclosure fighting 2 of Shakaals men who have gas masks on) and the henchmen ultimately capture Shakaal and finally end his ignominious existence. Shakaal, with his dying breath, sets his island hideout to blow up, but the heroes escape via helicopter to safety.

Sheru (Shatrughan Sinha) and Vicky (Sunil Dutt) are two gangleaders. After a series of complications and mishaps both realize that they will be better off being friends and helping the poor and needy. They also fall in love with two separate women, one of them is Lacho (Reena Roy). When these two turn good guys, the bad guy's leader Banwanri (Ranjeet) gets angry and vengeful. Fortunately, for our two heroes get support from a honest police inspector (Premnath). Then Sheru finds out that Lacho really loves Vicky and his son, this embittered them both against each other. There is more to rejoice when Chander introduces them to the woman he loves, Vandana, the only daughter of wealthy Mr. Tandon. The marriage is arranged with great pomp and ceremony, attended by the family friend, Abdul, who home-delivers groceries. Before the marriage could be solemnized, Upendra gets news that he has lost his Court case, and passes away. The wedding is canceled, and the lives of the entire Nath family changes thereafter, with Kamla and Maya taking over the household, reducing Savitri to the status of an unwanted guest, while Namrata is asked to become the servant and unable to complete her education, and Chander, who rebels, is asked to leave. Vandana's dad comes to know of their plight and refuses to permit his daughter to get married in the Nath family. Chander moves in with Abdul, gets a job as a waiter, then he is promoted as Manager, and finally as partner and co-owner of the Francis Hotel. Unable to get medication, Savitri passes away, forcing Namrata to move in with Abdul as well. Madan and Surendra also find success when they buy their own hotel and name it 'Gulmohar Hotel'. Maanav gets him a job with Hercules Milk Foods. Maanav meets with and falls in love with Kaajal Gupta, who is the daughter of the owner of Hercules Milk Foods, much to the chagrin of her dad who wants her to get married to Shyamal. Then one day Maanav disappears from Gopichand and Kaajal's lives. He re-locates to Simla and it is here that he learns that things have spiraled out of control as Gopichand has been arrested for marketing contaminated milk powder resulting in the deaths of hundreds of children. Years later, both Prem and Preeti are fated to meet again. This time Prem is accompanied by a handicapped young lad, Rahul, while Preeti is about to get engaged to Dr. Amar. Preeti soon realizes that the reason Prem has re-appeared in her life to be near her nubile to-be sister-in-law, Tikki. The question remains what will she do under the circumstances to try and expose Prem as well as protect her past from Dr. Amar? It turns out that Rahul is Prem and Preeti's son and that Prem has come to Dr.Amar for Rahul's treatment. Preeti's father had told her after the birth of the child that she had given birth to a still-born child. After Rahul's operation Preeti comes to know about the reality and confronts her father who confesses to her that he had lied about her giving birth to a dead child and asks her forgiveness but Preeti retorts saying that she an never forgive him as he had lied to her and thinks herself deceived by her own father. But Gulabi has another suitor, none other than Ajay, the only son of the tea estate owner. When Ajay finds out that Gulabi loves Haria, he plans to get rid of Haria, but fails. He waits for the right moment, and has his men abduct Gulabi. But before he could have his way with her, she is rescued by Raja, but Ajay subsequently shoots Raja to death. An enraged Haria wants to kill Ajay in return, but Ajay's dad stops him from doing so. Then Ajay's dad finds out a secret about his past life, and decides to change his last will and testament. Ajay finds out about this and lays in wait with a shotgun to kill his very own father - and anyone else who dares to stand in his way.
